So I called Lake Area Animal Clinic because everyone say's they're one of the best clinics in the area... I'm sure they are, but here are some things you should know that isn't noted on their website. This is what they told me over the phone, contrary to what their website say's... Lake Area Animal Clinic does not take walk in emergency/trauma patients. Yet, they clearly state on their website, that they offer PET EMERGENCY SERVICE. That's a lie... They will refer you to the vets in Llano, Marble Falls, and Round Rock. So don't even waste your time setting an appointment. Lake Area Animal Clinic does not set appointments for animals with open wounds infested with maggots or other infections. Their protocol and policy is to refer you to the vets in Llano, Marble Falls, and Round Rock. Lake Area Animal Clinic does not give prices or quotes on services. They like to keep their SURPRISE BILLING a trade secret. The other Vets I spoke with in the area, also passed the buck, referring me to other vets (including Lake Area Animal Clinic), they too also refused to give me a ballpark figure on the cost, and they ALL get really rude when you press the issue. So, basically I'm on my own and I have to some how McGyver this cat back to health. So I watched some You Tube videos on wound care, and found a home vet forum, there some nice people instructed me as to what I needed to do. So I set up my own little hospital in my laundry room and went to work on this cat and began flushing and removing the maggots myself, its taking some time, but treatment is working and the cat is purring and not as in much pain as before. It would be nice if I had some chloroform to kill these suckers with, but I had to make due with a saline/peroxide solution and some bactracin and lidocaine to ease the pain this little kitty was in. I'm confident he will make a full recovery, no thanks to the so called 'veterinarians' in the area. I can't contain my candor... I'm absolutely disgusted with these people... THANKS FOR NOTHING! It's really sad I had to contact a !%#$'ing Vet in INDIA to help me.

When our old vet retired, we had to find a new one. 1 of the Dr's from our old clinic had recently moved over to the HSB Vet Clinic. We thought we were making a smart move my switching everyone over there since we were already familiar with her. That turned out to be the BIGGEST mistake! When I discovered something abnormal on my corgi's scrotum area, I took him in. She did not do any testing whatsoever, looked at it, had another Dr look at it, came back & told me that they believe it to be a form of cancer. She continued to tell me that due to his age & medical history, she didn't feel as though he would be a candidate for a biopsy because he probably wouldn't be able to pass the anesthesia & they didn't think they would be able to stop the bleeding. In short, she was basically telling me he should be put to sleep. Something in my gut didn't feel right. I decided to get a 2nd opinion. Made the appt with Dr. DeFiley, took ALL of his records. She was more optimistic. In all of his prior blood tests, his platelets were all in a normal range. So there shouldn't be an issue with clotting. She did the surgery & sent what was removed for testing. Turns out it was NOT cancer! This was such a relief! To think that the other vet made no effort at all to help my Flapjack & suggested he be put to sleep infuriates me! Needless to say, we are extremely happy with Dr. DeFiley & will doing all of our business with her at Bluebonnet! She's truly cares about the wellbeing of your fur babies.

It's not a 'State of the Art' Vet Clinic and looks like an old country clinic which is fantastic to me because it is a comfortable atmosphere. Well $3400 later and ER trip in the middle of the night our dogs has sudden blindness and tremors. Serious complications indeed. I'm very dissatisfied in this veterinarian as they should have been more forthcoming with the accurate information regarding this medication. I'm also upset at myself that I didn't further investigate, but most people take the word of a professional. I will be moving our animals elsewhere and am considering taking legal action.

We were within the 30 days I wanted to bring him back in and Dr. Crenshaw said the fee would be $74 for "recheck". Liberty Hill Animal Hospital charges the following: $70 Exam Fee $48 Ear Cytology $16 for hair ear pluck No administration fees or biohazard fees. $30 Recheck fee Needless to say I'm not going back and disappointed.
