I had a old gift card that I had received from the North End Boston SOL Optics store which has since closed. I emailed SOL and Elizabeth responded. The GC could not be used on line, however once I found the glasses I wanted Elizabeth tracked them down to Board Stiff (affiliated with SOL). She called the manager of Board Stiff, Burt (who was also great!) and explained the situation. I called Burt, purchased my sunglasses over the phone and they shipped them to me. My husband has been a regular customer for years and just made purchases yesterday. Today he…read morereturned to purchase sneakers and work boots and was walking thru an isle when another man verbally abused him for walking around his girlfriend. My husband was nowhere near touching her and was verbally abused and left the store immediately afraid for his safety. We put a call into the manager, a man named Kevin but our phone call was not returned therefore we will be letting our family and friends know this is not a safe place to shop. The employees in the store apologized but did nothing when this encounter occurred and only apologized when my husband exited the store. Downtown New Bedford is no longer a safe place to shop.
