A perfect way to start 2019. We had booked paddle boards, but Dean was prepared for a windy day and had kayaks ready for us as well. After a choppy attempt, we switched to the kayaks and had a wonderful time going 2.5 miles through the canals. We will definitely be back to try the paddle boards on a calmer day. We bought a booking of 4 for snorkeling for Father's Day, priced around $100 (non-refundable). For the price of the booking, I was under the impression that we would get on a boat and go into the ocean to see reefs, etc. This wasn't the case, he let us know that the waters were choppy and directed us to a beach nearby to visit. I mean with this, we could have bought gear and just did it ourselves. But we took a chance and went to the beach, because what do we have to lose? As stated before, the owner did tell us that the waters were choppy (they still were). If we did go in the water, wouldn't been able to see anything in the water, that's how many waves were coming in every few seconds. After finding this out and not doing snorkeling, we did kayaking instead. I think that was around $60, if I'm not mistaken. He showed us where to go by ourselves and we sent good hour and half on the water. Ages range between 18, 24, 28 and 50. 10/10 experience, do this instead of snorkeling, trust me. read more

My friend and I rented a kayak and paddle board the other weekend and had a fantastic time! I was nervous that calling the day-of would leave us with not many options, but I was pleasantly surprised when PaddleAwaySports said they'd be able to help us out no problem. They were extremely helpful and kind. Oh and did I mention they allow you to take your dog along with you on your adventure?! That was what sold me since many other places don't allow it. I went to Paddle Away with a friend last week. The owner was very friendly and helpful. My friend had experience with paddle boarding but I was new. He took time out to show me what to do. We took out the hybrid boards which are pretty great for beginners. We paddled to Two Georges (hang a right when you are out on the water and head to the bridge) for lunch and then headed back. If you're lucky when you return you will be greeted by Athena, the owner's dog. She will come out in the water abit and greet you as if you are a long lost friend. By the way, if you went to Paddle Away with a Groupon then the owner will honor that rate on your next visit. You can't find customer service like that at many places. read more

Omg, what an amazing experience! The owner was so friendly and accommodating and hands down the best customer service, ever! I was concerned about the rain and didn't want to drive all the way down to the location and it be raining and thundering. Dean, the owner, is extremely nice and easy to get along with. We heard about Paddle Away from a family member who had done his Groupon a week or two before we called. She said even if you didn't have the Groupon, he'd honor the price if you mentioned it, which was true. $45 for two people for two vessels was a steal and well worth calling Dean. I got the paddle board which was fun but definitely way too athletic for me. A more in shape person should get the paddle board since it requires a ton of leg and core muscle stamina. Dean's paddle boards are slightly wider than normal so it's easier to use for beginners. His paddle boards also double as kayaks with a little seat that pops up when you need it. Convenient! The Intracostal is really calm, especially on nice days and the launch in West Palm is nice and convenient. The launch has a recreation building and public picnic space so you could make a day of kayaking and dining al fresco. Highly recommend, especially since the prices are reasonable and Dean is a nice guy. He's informative and funny and let's you know what's up so you can see some cool sites out on the water. read more

Bought a Living Social for 4 hours tandem kayaking. The owner is incredibly accommodating and friendly. He offered for us to join him on a kayak tour and my bf and I were quick to accept. It is always better when you have a knowledgeable guide to kayak with. We had a great time! We kayaked along the intercoastal area in Boynton Beach. We stopped at a nature trail, disembarked our kayaks and walked around for a little bit. Our guide (the owner) had great stories to tell along the way. Had a great day on the water paddle-boarding around the inter-coastal waterway in Boynton Beach. Thanks to Dean and Holly at PaddleAway Sports, who are extremely knowledgeable about the area and will get you set up and going quickly. They have paddleboards, kayaks and other water toys for all ages and skill levels. The paddle board I rented was brand new. Dean carried the board to the shore, adjusted the paddle and I was on my way. Upon arrival, they described the scenic course through the canals and mangroves, lined with beautiful homes, boats, and of course wildlife. Tons of jumping fish, schools of other fish darting and splashing around and of course the birds; Pelicans, etc. There is plenty to see. I rented the SUP for 2 hours, which is plenty of time check the area out. Upon return, they were helping a family with teenage kids get set up in kayaks. Very professional outfit. Bravo. read more

We have rented paddle boards from Dean the past 2 weekends! We had an amazing time both times. Dean was so knowledgable about where to go! He was very accommodating with our reservations both times. It's a great work out and I highly recommend using Dean and paddle away sports for all your south Florida water sports! Dean helped us secure a cooler on one of the boards which we filled with water and sandwiches. He stooped once in the mangroves and once at a little sandbar during low tide for a break and a snack. I just want to say that this is the best place to use. Dean was so accommodating. He was the only one open for a Sunrise morning Paddle adventure. He lent me his phone case and it accidently fell at the bottom of the sea with our car keys. He went out and dove with us in search of it, he brought us snacks and water when we were starving and stranded due to our missing car keys. He let us use his phone and waited with us for help. Fun choppy water on way out, but much smoother on the return. My friend used a kayak and had a great time too. Totally worth the price. When I called to make reservations for snorkeling for 5, Dean was very informative, upbeat and knowledgeable. He mentioned reasons why he would cancel a tour (safety was clearly a top priority for him), what to bring, what to expect. I also received a text message confirming everything. A little while later I got a call from Dean explaining that he was just becoming aware that with the recent rain fall (about a weeks worth) and releasing of fresh water from dams that the water was murky and not best for seeing underwater. He gave me plenty of options including a full refund of my deposit which I opted for, and received. We will surely be using them our next visit to FL! read more

Great snorkel/kayak outing today! Dean accommodated our 7:00 am launch and was very responsive and thoughtful about water visibility and tide conditions. We wanted to kayak somewhere we could see fish and did! My wife and I and our daughters, 13 and 15, all are strong swimmers and have kayaking experience. We found Paddle Away on a day when all the other water sports rental places were closed or the employees just didn't feel like coming into work. (Yes, a lot of people in this town are quite relaxed about these things...) So this first thing I noticed about Paddle Away was that they had their **** together. :) The owner set us up with kayaks and explained a few interesting trips we could take in our two hour window. So our trip ended up being far more interesting than it would have been had we just rented kayaks on the beach and paddled to nowhere and back.
