What a bummer. The "enshitification" of the world as a whole continues... And now it includes the…read morelifetime at Boca. I recently returned to this lifetime after being away a few months. I simply cannot believe the decisions made for their renovation. I understand renovations were needed as the gym they previously purchased and renamed, did need several cosmetic updates. However, whoever made the decisions for this specific location seriously is tone deaf, and should not be put in charge of such decisions in the future. Not to mention, the air conditioning still stops working randomly, the showers are not open for use, can't use the court because of construction, several classes unavailable. And they are still charging full price. The only silver lining, and also the only reason I left two stars, is because the lifting area is still nicely maintained. And honestly, after seeing what they chose to do with the basketball courts, I will no longer be coming to this location. Removal of the full court NBA sized court with all the side baskets will affect their membership numbers more than they realize. This location has long been a legendary court where high-level players and their training staff and friends would frequent. Especially over the summer. Now it's been downsized to a LA Fitness style court. Also, considering how much it cost nowadays to replace of hardwood basketball court, if they ever chose to go back on their decision, it would cost them triple. Absolutely bonehead move by whoever signed off on this. Whoever made this decision, does not understand the local community and their desires. Furthermore, it's not like they were short on space. There's plenty of room in this massive gym to have turf placed without cutting up the bball floor. Not to mention, the other nearest lifetime in Palm Beacch Gardens only has Pickleball courts. So basically, if you are a basketball player, Life Time doesn't really care about you. Such an absolute shame. Local community that is affected by this will find alternate locations. Personally, I will be going to the equinox in West Palm. Feel free to include a boring corporate response below this review, but understand that no matter what you say, you made a terrible decision which was not " in the best interest of the community". I hate how so many things nowadays are made worse by someone sitting behind a desk signing off on bad ideas. Well, understand that now people who used to drive over an hour to come use this gym will find other places to go.

During the conversation, she was told, "We don't honor that without an additional fee. Given your demographic, it looks like you can't afford that." If there was an eligibility issue or additional fee, it should have been explained respectfully. No customer should be spoken to this way. Management should review this incident and ensure members and prospective members are treated with professionalism and respect.

I've been going to The Peter Blum Family YMCA for years, and overall it's a good place -- but there…read moreare definitely some important pros and cons. Let me start with the positives. The management team is always very polite and helpful. One of the main reasons I've stayed so long is their wide variety of classes -- yoga, BodyPump, Pilates, Zumba, HIIT, BodyCombat, and more. I used to LOVE the BodyPump and BodyCombat classes, especially with instructors Zoe and Cindy Lee -- they were incredible. So much energy, motivation, always correcting form and really engaging with the class. Truly my favorites. Unfortunately, after they left, I stopped attending those classes. I did try the new instructor, but the experience was very different -- loud in an uncomfortable way, lots of personal talk during class, and overall not the same professional atmosphere. There was also an awkward situation that made me feel unwelcome. I was filming myself and my friend briefly (as I sometimes do), making sure no one else was in the background. The instructor approached me in a way that felt unnecessarily confrontational, repeating the same comment about not filming, even after I had already stopped and put my phone away. After that, I felt uncomfortable returning to those classes and eventually stopped going altogether -- especially when I noticed the same energy during future visits. That said, the yoga classes are still excellent -- very strong instructor and great experience. The gym itself is well-equipped with modern machines, always clean, and offers great amenities: sauna, steam room, and a pool. Kids' programs are also a big plus -- my children have been taking swimming classes there for years (we've been coming here for about 6 years total), and they love it. When they were younger, we also attended "mommy & me" classes, which were wonderful -- lots of songs, playtime, and interaction. There's also a kids' playroom with staff, toys, and activities, as well as two playgrounds. They even have a daycare, and a small indoor play area available on weekends -- very family-friendly overall. Now, a couple of serious downsides. The building is quite old, and during rainy season the roof leaks -- I've seen water dripping in areas like the café and even the gym floor, with buckets placed underneath instead of fixing the issue. That's definitely concerning. Another important issue is the parking lot. There is an exposed metal rod sticking out where a parking stopper used to be, right near the front entrance by the windows. I personally had a scary experience with it -- it pressed into my car wheel, and I was lucky it didn't puncture the tire. I reported it and even left a review about it, but a year later it still hasn't been fixed. Please be very careful when parking in that area. Overall, it's a place with great potential, strong programs, and a family-friendly environment -- but also with some issues that really should be addressed.

They have a wide range of…read moredifficulties, ranging from the tough (Body Combat) to ones geared for seniors such as chair yoga. I prefer the middle range with classes like Pilates and barre. I do wish they would mix up the class times once in a while because I've been going for about two years and schedule hasn't changed much so I end up doing the same classes each week. The instructor Jennifer is great. I love that she does different things each week so I don't get bored with it. The place is clean, large, good staff, nice pool. I like the E gym so you don't have to adjust weights as it remembers when you scan your bracelet. They have a lot of community/family based events.
