Great customer service and amazing prices. I'm fairly new to Paddleboarding and had a lot of questions. The staff was super helpful in addressing all the questions I have about an inflatable vs a hard board. I bought 1 VEsL iSUPs in January and feel in love with it at first session. Compared to my previous iSUP, the VESL board is just better designed and feels more rigid. Loved it so much that I went back a few weeks later and bought 2 more boards. The staff here is very knowledgeable and even shared good spots to launch from that is close to the shop. I recently bought two surf paddle board from here and the service was great and the people at the store was nice and knowledgeable. The board on the other hand was not great. I've had the board for a couple weeks now. It gets scuffed very easily even though I am very careful with how I move it around and when the nose hit the door lightly as I was moving the board, it cracked. I was so frustrated that the board crack from that little impact. It would not be as bad if I was carrying the board and it slammed against a wall and crack but with just a little tap, it was very disappointing. Another thing that I think is worth mentioning is that if your paddle hit the board when you are paddling it will leave a mark which I was told that it can be sanded down with a wet sandpaper but seeing how thin the outside layer of the board is I'm just wondering how many times can you actually sand it down before there isn't anything to sand down. Once again, the people at the store are all very nice and knowledgeable but if you are going spend this much for a board you're probably better off getting a different brand that won't crack at the slightest tab. read more

I don't normally write reviews but because of my recent buying experience with Paddle Surf Warehouse I felt I needed to thank them for their amazing customer service. Michael, Jeff, and the crew are extremely knowledgeable due to their years of experience. After doing some research online I decided to make the 35 mile drive from my house to the Costa Mesa store with the plan in mind of buying a 10'6" VESL all -around based on what I thought would suit me the best. The guys at PSW suggested I go with the 11' but I already had my mind made up on the 10'6". Well in the next couple weeks I took the board out twice and realized that the 11'0" would have been the way to go since I was venturing further out beyond the breakwater than I initially thought I would be. I contacted Michael via email and explained to him my situation asking if there was something we could both agree to in swapping boards. He said to come on back and that we could certainly work something out. Well they most certainly did and I went home happy and with a beautiful 11'-0" VESL Bamboo Series Eco Board. Great local company that isn't there to give you some lame sales pitch. They are extremely knowledgeable and will answer any question you have. They want to make sure you're happy and comfortable with your purchase. They also have great deals and pricing compared to other SUP shops. Paddle Surf Warehouse is a great place to buy a paddle board, an SUP paddle and all of the accessories you need. I bought SUP paddles from them a few years ago along with a board bag. Mike and his son in law are very courteous and helpful. Recently, I bought a SUP for my wife. She really loved it but after a few weeks we had a warranty issue with the board. I took it to the store and was given fantastic customer care. The board was replaced with no hassle. I had a paddle that I had purchased a few years earlier. It was too long and they traded me for a new adjustable carbon fiber paddle. This was customer service at its finest. Don't listen to the reviews that say the owner can't be trusted. IT IS NOT TRUE. Save yourself time. The owners of this store or employees.... who knows who posts the ads on Craigslist for their boards ... don't know how to answer an email or phone call. When you contact them via Craigslist they responds to your questions by giving you the name of their store and their hours and do not answer your questions. I have replied to a few of their CL ads thinking it's a private seller's but turns out I get the same lazy reply and it's this same Company. I even once spoke to one guy that gave me the run around and didn't even have the boards he was advertising online. It's clearly a pattern hence why I decided to write a review. Lazy reply = bad customer service. I don't. live in Costa Mesa. In fact I live 3+ hours away. So if I ask if an item is available I would expect a reply with a yes or no and not the hours of their store. Since, I probably would not take the 6 hour round trip just to see what they have in stock. It might be more but I think it's best to deal with the company that actually makes the boards. You'll probably get better answers and customer service. read more

After a trip to Hawaii and trying out SUPs, my wife was hooked. Found out about Paddle Surf Warehouse via Yelp and saw that their prices were very competitive on their website so decided we'd check it out. Their two boards and paddle package had me interested for sure. When we arrived at their store, Adam greeted us, answered all our questions, and helped explain the differences between the different boards they carried. Super friendly and informative, and knew when to give us some space so we could discuss/wrestle with our options. Great selection of boards, paddles, and accessories. Went with two Vesl Bamboo ECO series boards, which came with two carbon fiber Vesel paddles. Adam hooked it up! He cut us a great deal, since we purchased two boards even if they weren't specifically the ones included in the two boards package. He showed us how to install the fins, cut the carbon paddles down to size, set up the roof rack, tied everything down, and gave us a couple spots to check out. We came with nothing and within an hour or so (took us awhile to decide between boards) we're out in Back Bay paddling around. Great selection, competitive pricing, and awesome service. Great SUP rental and gear place! I wanted a new board and they really talked me through all the different ones they have as well as the pros/cons and price points of each one. I bought a 10'6" (they suggested a 10') Paddle Surf Hawaii board, which I LOVED. And then really did wish I followed his suggestion and get a 10'. They even gave me a great deal on an amazing Dakine board bag (so far the best board bag I've seen for long road trips). GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! - Always willing to help with advice and seriously some of the most friendly guys I have ever met! I still order other accessories from them even though I've moved away. They always have great deals. I also later on bought a second touring board from them as well and this one was shipped. It was packed SUPER well and very safely. Arrived in perfect condition. I've also rented boards from the Dana Point location as well when I am in So Cal to visit and was able to throw the boards on top of my rental car. They helped me strap it down. read more

I went back during the week and talked to one of the guys here. He was nice and full of information (which would garner 5 stars), however, the selection is very limited (minus one star) and there is no try before you buy or demo option (minus another star). They have their own line of boards (Ve5yl) that look great, but until you ride it- you don't know. They also have a lower- end brand (thick board) that I wasn't interested in purchasing. I want something that doesn't ride like a log. I was also looking for a rack for my car and the guy kept trying to push me towards a cheap foam rack that would strap on my car and eventually ruin the weatherstripping. I wanted a "real" rack for my car and was ready to throwdown the money. He told me I didn't need it and kept trying to push me towards the cheaper option. What??! It's nice that they have an in-house brand. And I'm glad other people are happy with the boards here. I've been paddling for over 5 years and am a but more particular about what I wanted. Ended up buying at SUP to You in Laguna. Lots of different makes and you can test drive multiple brands. EVERY SUP the carry- they demo. I get that it's a different business model, but when spending $1k, I want to know what I'm getting. read more

i have been shopping around for new and used boards for a while. I looked around and saw their inventory but I was a little confused as to the makes and prices. I liked one a lot but I wanted to think on it. I went paddling the next day using my friends board and loved the feel of the Displacment Hull boards rather than the wider boards. They're faster and I love the way they look. So I called up Jeff, the owner, and spoke with him. He was super knowledgeable and very helpful. Answered all my questions. I went down to see the board I wanted and Jeff worked out a nice deal for me I couldn't pass up. I got a Tahoe SUP Zephyr, a Quickblade paddle and bags for both.
