I saw an animal in the road while driving. Thought it was a rat or squirrel. As I pass, I look out window and realize it's a little mini yorkie. I back up to block traffic. I then see her chest rise and fall. I slowly try to pick her and she screams. I backboard her with my sunshade and off I go looking for a vet. My friend is calling as I'm driving. Several vets we called said don't come here we are busy, even my friend's established vet refuses to help. Called Paddock and told Dr. Chelsey was going to lunch but would wait for us. I rush this poor 3 lbs yorkie over that's suffering, to be met by the sweetest vet and gentle. This wasn't our dog but we all shed a tear for this angel who couldn't be saved. The doctor was waiting for us basically at the door. I won't use anyone else now because of how she treated us that day. Doggie dental care is absolutely necessary for the overall health of my darling Dolly but it can be soooo expensive! They did her dental cleaning, with bloodwork, for under $400. Another vet that is closer to my home wanted to charge me more than double! They do an excellent job too ... her teeth are beautifully white and her mouth smells like a breath of fresh air :) We highly recommend! read more

Long waiting times. No separation from dogs and cats. I waited over an hour and there was still 3 pets before me. There were very large dogs barking aggressively. When I was placed in a room I waited another hour before I even saw the vet. My cat was sick and there was no interaction w the vet until she was handing me 3 medications. If you want a vet and staff that will genuinely care for your baby this is the place. My baby went there for a blockage and ended up needing surgery. They took wonderful care of my baby and (Tall Cheyenne) took my fears and made me relaxed. The price for his surgery were reasonable and the compassion they all have is amazing. I hate to do this but do not go to this place whatsoever I should've looked at reviews first I didn't because a close friend recommended me. The tech that was in before the vet was lovely and very nice. Where the issue starts is with dr.Kristin came in with a bad attitude didn't really explain anything yelling at people behind the door to grab her this and that and just kept telling me my puppy looks healthy which for the first puppy visit it is supposed to be free which I paid for it and she didn't even examine her everything she did with her was out of the room I was behind on her shots and she just made me feel like crap because of it instead of saying you know you are a little behind it's good you brought her in now and just everything after that just left a really sour taste in my mouth about this place. Our Springer Spaniel had been going to PP for 3 years. when we moved to Ocala Rufus was 13 years old. In July 2023 we knew his collapsed treachea had declined and it was time to set him free. Rufus had been my companion for 16.5 years. The lack of compassion at the end of his life was horrible. The assistant took him from me and I could hear him yelping as she did the IV. The assistant then returned him to the exam room. Why couldn't he stay with me? The vet came in and Rufus tried to bite him he was so rough with him. Our Rufus never tried to bite anyone! Then the vet said nonchantly,"Ok we will do it in the muscle." I then laid Rufus in his bed and petted him until he fell asleep. The Vet came back in and administered the final shot. I have had to put my pets to sleep before . It's tramatizing for all involved. I'll never go back to PP because my sweet Rufus' last 39 minutes on this earth was barbaric! read more

The only reason why i went there was because my female corgi had an itch problem on ears and muzzle, and her regular vet I take her since she was a puppy was closed for two days. We were out of town and needed to see a vet for my dog. They were very fast to get us an appointment and the staff are very friendly. I was able to call and get an appointment within an hour. Unfortunately my little dog tore his ligament but the staff made me and my dog comfortable about the situation. I was a hot mess but both the vet and vet tech calmed me down with their own personal dog stories, which I really appreciated. I just wish I lived closer so I could make this my primary vet. read more

Not coming back to this vet due to the lack of attention and care for my cat. The staff is unfriendly and I left with unanswered questions. Dr. Kristen Brauer examined my cat's breathing since he has asthma, but didn't tell me her findings during the office visit. We briefly chatted about feline asthma in general and rushed out of the exam room. I expected her to come back in to tell me how he is, but kept me waiting 15-20 minutes in the room to only find out she wasn't coming in and left my prescriptions at the front desk. I feel taken advantage of and will never return to this facility. One of the worst experiences of my life. read more

Airport rd animal clinic charged 13.00 while this place charged 31.50 for the exact same TAG! The vaccine costs 20 bucks at both. i want to recognize the entire team at paddock park animal care center. from the receptionist(s), to the vet tech team, to the 2 veterinarians that treated my beloved "zulu" and dr. k. roweton (surgeon). dr. bull (who only practices part-time as a "fill-in") at the vet care center. and dr. brauer, who we saw on a saturday, in an emergency situation. each person was professional, attentive, courteous, informative when we asked questions. dr. bull was at paddock park animal care center 2 tuesdays and was able to assess, discuss plan of care with us & treat accordingly, much to our satisfaction. dr. bull was empathetic, thorough, reassuring & positive when explaining to us and while hands on/assessment with our sweet, yet very ill, 8 year old dog. i would recommend dr. bull to everyone. he truly was above & beyond re: our dog while in surgery........ calling with an update of how the surgery was going. dr. k. roweton performed 3 surgeries on our "zulu" with 1 of the lesions suspected as cancer. he called as soon as surgery was complete. answered & explained the process, how the patient did, plan for sending out to pathology the biopsies removed, and actually the type of closure on 1 site which turned out to be a difficult closure...... needing a "plastic surgical" type repair. again, all dr.'s & other staff are kind, willing to spend the time to listen to our concerns, answer our questions & help the process seem less stressful, worrisome & truly caring. dr. brauer saw us 3 days after the surgeries in an emergent situation. she too was caring, informative, listened, kind & reassuring towards my husband & i, as well as, towards our beloved boy who was suffering severe complications. i am so thankful for all involved. we plan to continue going to paddock park with our other 3 animals..... I took two of my dogs to have a dental cleaning today. I searched them out because their price was significantly cheaper than my regular vet who's prices are steadily creeping up. I was very impressed with the personal attention we received from the vet. She called me twice to let me know that they had good blood work and they were cleared for the procedure, and then after to let me know that they did well. They understood that I was nervous, and were very patient and explained everything to my satisfaction. Honestly, I've never had to wait so incredibly long for an annual visit. My appointment was at 2:30 and it is now 3:40 and my cat has yet to be given her shots. Others were upset at the pacing in the office as well. I'm not sure if this was just an extremely "off" day for the office but even the nurse and the female vet did not do a very good job. The nurse never informed me whether or not my cat's exams came back positive or negative for worms. The vet was seriously so fast with her examination, I literally had to grab her attention and ASK her whether or not my animal appeared to be in healthy shape. 1st time using paddock. Me and my wife travel all over and have used multiple boarding locations. I didn't want them groomed because my wife is highly allergic to dog dog grooming products. We dropped off for 7 days. When we picked them up I noticed they smelled different but i didn't think anything of it until my wife broke out in hives. Recent move to Ocala. Chose this place because of the "glowing ratings" and close to home. My experience in walking in, they could not find my animal records faxed to them. I called my Vet in Clearwater, they had faxed them. Two receptionists, one a middle aged woman bitching about how she was not getting enough work hours and stating she would quit. Was brought back to the exam room, waiting a very long time. Listening to rock and roll music blasting from the treatment area. Wondered if the sick animals were enjoying that. I took my cat and left without being seen by the doc. Funny, no phone call to me wondering why I left their establishment. Very poor customer service all around. Dr. David and the staff at Paddock Park are the most incredibly caring and kind people you can meet. They have been treating our two crazies Kalei and Kona our Hawaiian German Shepherds. Although Kona doesn't particularly like going to the DR period as we call him, because of the shiny floors the service and professionalism is top notch. I would not hesitate to recommend this Animal Clinic to anyone looking for a good compassionate doctor. They have multiple doctors on staff and they are all good but Dr. David is our vet of choice. read more

I am very unhappy with the service I received from Paddock Park Vet. I brought a litter of puppies in for their first visit. I had specific tests that I had to have done that were not a part of a regular visit. These tests were available through Paddock. I explained that although they weren't a part of their normal visit, I absolutely needed them. They proceeded with the exam as if this would be done. I assumed I was in good hands only to realize when I got home, the tests I needed where not done. I got charged for a fecal on each puppy which on this visit because the puppies are so young and have no other contact with anything unless as a litter, so one fecal she be sufficient. This was not discussed with me and my bill along with other charges was hundreds of dollars over what another vet would charge. I know this because I checked. The technician was rough with my puppies and had no concern for what I needed and did not even discuss this with the vet. I contacted Paddock regarding the additional tests I needed. Not only did they require all puppies to come back in and be exposed to all that happens to be in their office including contagious diseases, I would be charged for each pup along with another office visit. To much ado I had a fecal dropped off to have the test done. I had to pay someone to deliver this as had just had surgery and could not make the trip. When my delivery person dropped the sample off with my credit card in hand, no one asked for payment at the time of drop off and said it would be 15 minutes for results. 30 minutes later I received a call saying they would not do the test without payment in advance. This meant me paying for someone to go back and pay, then they said it would take at least an hour for results. This office is very unorganized. The vets on staff are not informed by the technicians to relay clients concerns. The vets have no authority to do anything outside of policy even in an emergency or exception situation. There is not an office manager available to discuss any concerns. The girls at the front desk are taking the brunt of all the dissatisfaction customers have. There is no accountability held by anyone. To top things off, I specially needed this test in writing for my litter which was totally communicated by me from the beginning. Out of spite that I had not brought all the puppies in and got gouged for another office visit over something that was clearly not my fault, they specifically made a big point on their written results that this test would not apply to any one puppy as I had only brought in a stool sample. This whole scenario was an absolute incompetence on the whole office and a complete disrespect to their clients concerns and needs. They are running their business as a large corporation that puts you in the category of just a number and we don't care if you ever come back. They are a total disgrace to other vets who are trying their best to genuinely care for our pets. I feel very taken advantage of and forewarn anyone considering taking your beloved pet to this office. read more

I was visiting ocala florida during spring break when our 10 year old English springer spaniels allergies flared up. After a 16 hour drive from Indiana and a whole night of hearing him lick lick lick, I called this clinic and by 9:30 am they had me in to see Dr. Allen. What a great experience! Both the vet tech and Dr. Allen were very pleasant and patient. They took the time to listen to my dogs history and symptoms. They set me up with medications to help my dog get relief so that not only he could enjoy our spring break but the whole family could! Within hours our dog was resting and feeling much better! Recommend this vet highly as they are not just out to make money but REALLY care about your pet and offer real solutions that work. Can't say enough good things about this vet!!! Only bad thing? I bring my dog (and now have even brought my foster dog here) regularly for doggy daycare and long-term boarding. They have a large fenced in area that breaks up into large sections. The runs are large too! Even my 90 lb dog has plenty of room. The staff members are all so friendly and know both me and my dog by name. My dog and foster dog love being there and were well taken care of. They also provide food. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be helped even when they are busy and there are three other people in the lobby. I highly recommend Paddock Park Animal Care Center for doggyday care and boarding. You will get personalized service with a smile and your dogs will be happy to be there and well loved! Very unpleasant experience after having pre surgery issues more then once from here with our dog we switched vets and counted our losses.

My wife & I have used Paddock Park vets for the past 12 years. Most of the time they were competent and caring. About a month ago, our dog had surgery, and had major complications. We made the tough decision to have him put down. The vet caused my dog's last few minutes of life to be extremely painful. After experiencing that debacle, I would never have anything to do with Paddock Park Animal center again! read more

We boarded our dog for the weekend. Long story short they didn't give my dog the food I left so he got diarrhea/gas (he is french bulldog/boston terrier mix so requires breed food). He apparently pooped on his 2 nyla bones I left with him so they threw them away. I am assuming they cleaned the kennel he was in with a chemical and put him back in when the floor was not properly dry so he got either a chemical burn/irritation on all 4 paws. Will not stop licking them probably due to pain and doesn't even want to walk on them. Called up there took him in and they gave me wipes that were donated, because he couldn't give me medicine unless I paid even though this was due to them. When manager called me back he apologized for incident and tried to resolve by me bring Reef in for bath or for doggy day camp. No thanks, will not be coming back there so he did refund the boarding cost. Although, the money will not make my dog feel better so I hope they look into why this happened and don't let it happen to your dog. read more

NEVER GO HERE. My friend had to go to another vet because he helped worsen the damage of her kitten who had been hit by a car. Thanks to the other vet, the kitten is still alive. After Dr. David worked on her, she was in such a horrific condition that the vet said that if my friend waited a few more days then her kitten wouldnt have made it. Read all the negative reviews, they all talk about misdiagnosis of animals, they may groom well but their vets have no clue what they are doing, think twice before taking your animal to this business! Below is the email I sent them a week ago with no response, this is after we had to put our cat down bc they didnt know what they were doing, I still to this day haven't received a phone call, email, nothing! See below, they misdiagnosed my cat and I had to have another vet put her down This is in reference to my visit last month with my cat Gigi. I brought her in bc she wasnt eating and or acting right, the Vet that I met with took her temperature and did some other tests and ended up she had a fever. They gave her fluids, gave her an antibiotic and sent me home with what I believe was a liquid form of tylenol. I was asked if I would like to have blood work done and I said yes bc I wanted to make sure there wasn't something more serious wrong with her. A couple of days passed and Gigi was acting some what normal and eating again, the Vet called and said they had seen nothing unusual about her blood work and that she may have just had a upper respiratory infection. About a week later her symptoms returned, this time much worse so we took her back to your company, this time saw a different vet who came to the same conclusion as the first vet and sent my wife home with more antibiotics and gave her more fluids, well this time she wasnt getting better! My wife and I not liking your Vets decisions decided to take gigi to another vet to get a second opinion, after the second vet reviewed her blood work he found that her white blood cell count was 2.1, he stated to me that the normal for a cat is 3.5 to 15, hers was 2.1 and he tested her for feline leukemia and guess what she was positive, we had to put her down that day! Are your Vets not capable of seeing or reading blood test results or do they just not care? It doesn't take a genius to know that if a humanes white blood cell count is dangerously low, then there is something really wrong with that person, I would imagine its the same way with animals! Its been a week since we had to put her down and since then my wife has tried to call numerous times to speak with a manager and every single time is told shes not in, convenient! We have been residents of Ocala for a very long time and plan on staying here also for a very long time, is this how you treat your customers and their animals? Its bad enough to have to put a family pet that was only 6 years old down, but to have 2 different Vets misdiagnose her and the company just ignore us just makes it that much worse! I will go out of my way to make sure every person I cross paths with avoids your company and business, our pets are our family members! Our pets shouldn't be treated this way and we as customers should not be treated this way either read more

After bring home a new puppy we decided to go to Paddock Park Animal Center after reviewing local vets and there pricing even though they had the highest exam rate (49$) because they waved the initial visit for new patients. We ended up setting up a appointment to have our girl spayed and used a coupon from the Humane Society for $75 to save some money, but by going through Paddock Park we did all but save in the long run. I was told to bring my dog in at 10am for the procedure and that I would be called when she was out of surgery to make sure everything went well. After 5pm rolled around we took it upon our self to call and check, when we did we were told that she had just got out about 30 minutes prior and everything was fine. I scheduled to pick her up at 10 am the next morning. The staff returned our dog in a rushed manner and didn't take any time to discuss any precautions or what to expect post surgery nor did she have a cone, I ended up putting her in a T-shirt to keep here from licking her stitches. The next morning it became apparent that our little girl had a UTI and a bloody discharge. Being very concerned I called and was told they would check with the vet and call me right back. After waiting 3 hours for the phone call we finally just took her in and they conformed she had a UTI but they really couldn't explain the bleeding and charged us $55 for medication for the UTI that she received under their care. After about a week we returned to have the sutures removed and everything seemed fine until a week or so later when swelling and redness appeared in that area. Now after giving up on Paddock Park and going to another vet to find out they left sutures and some kind of glue in her we are paying another $200 to have her go through another surgery to fix this. In the long run our girl had to deal with unnecessary pain on top of us spending a total of $375 on extra surgery and pain medication. I'm not usually incline to write negative reviews but I love my pup and would hate to see anyone else have there's go through so many complications and pain on top of a staff that didn't seem to care much about our concerns or get back with us in a timely manner when we were so worried. read more

I don't want to speak for all of the staff as a whole but the woman that I dealt with at the front counter was absolutely terrible. It was my very first visit there ever and she was so rude. I was there 10 minutes before my appointment time and after waiting almost an hour and watching people get called back that arrived after me I went up and asked how much longer it'll be. She said "I don't know" so I just said "well do all of these people have appointment times before mine?" and she said "I dont know" but she had a MAJOR attitude for no reason. So I turned around, called another vet and made an appointment at Town and Country Animal Hospital. It was the best place I could have gone. SO helpful and friendly and I literally walked in the door and was called back immediately. The Vet took so much time to talk to us and was so sweet and caring. Its pretty sad that it was my very first time at Paddock Park Animal Care and I was treated so poorly. They lost my business and if I have anything to do with it, they will lose more business before its all said and done. Word of mouth is a pretty strong weapon if you ask me!! read more

We take our diabetic dog to Dr. Jason. He has totally turned his health around 100 percent. When we took our dog to him his sugar was way out of control. We recently moved here from Ohio. He put him on a different insulin and gave us guidance on his care. Today our 13 yr. old Yorki-poo is doing great. He is no longer urinating in the house or drinking huge amounts of water. I kenneled my two dogs at Paddock park after moving to Ocala while I looked for a home. Nearly every day I visited them and realized over time that they seemed to look worse and worse. When I visited them they were often wet, even on dry days and stunk really bad, like I couldn't even pet them. When I asked why they were in that condition, I was told that they must have jumped in puddles and rolled in water when they were let outside. It was pretty apparent to me that they were not kept in a clean environment and were not given basic care or treated well. Directly after discharge, one of the dogs became very ill and it cost quite a bit of money getting her well again. Do not kennel your dog here. read more
