Paddy Wagon is a nice friendly Irish pub with a good selection of draft beer including the standard Irish beers,a few local brews, and domestics. The staff is on top of things and provides excellent service. They have a well stocked full bar as well. There is a long wood bar and tables inside and seating on the patio as well. The patio is covered with ceiling fans, televisions and smoking is allowed. Paddy Wagon is my go to watering hole when I am in the area. It's a few years and things change with time. One thing that hasn't is great bartenders at this Paddy's. One in particular, her name is Ivory learned to make a drink for me on-the-spot called a French 75 and she did it flawlessly the very first time. I walked in with my mother and baby. Immediately the bar tender barked at us "We don't have food!" Ooook. We were not there for food and we said "That's ok." She then said, "Only over 21, no baby." Oooook! Rude! There are a lot better ways to communicate this than barking at us saying the least amount of words possible to get us to leave. Unwelcoming. Bartender with white rim glasses was very rude and antagonizing.. Very bad and upsetting experience.

The moment we walked in we asked for a drink and the bartender with white glasses was hostile. He aggressively asked us for an id and when we get back he throws our id's at us and says "you have to be 21 and you look too young anyway" all of this on top of physically threatening us has given the impression that this establishment hires hot-headed immature bartenders and I do not recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

Just went to the Paddywagon on Lockwood Ridge and was turned away because I had my 8 pound dog with me. Yes 8 pound lap dog. My girlfriend and I were out walking our dog and figured we would stop in and have a couple drinks. Turns out the Paddywagon owners are not dog friendly people. They wouldn't even let us sit outside on the patio with him. It is not like they don't know us there, we have gone there since they opened! Bradenton and Sarasota are such dog friendly cities that I can't believe they wouldn't let him in. I could see possibly if food was sold at the location but there is no food. I will have to think long and hard about returning to any establishment owned by this owner. The bright side of things it saved me a $50 bar tab. read more

We went to this bar to end the night with a group of 7 friends (most of us 22 and over). As soon as we walked in, my friend walked up to the bar to try to order a drink. After he handed the bartender his ID he walked away, mid-order, to ID the rest of the group. The only comment made by my group was confusion about why he walked away mid-order. The bartender with the white glasses was highly offended by this comment and proceeded to question how old we were. He barked that we had to be 21 to enter the bar, which was odd because they should ID at the door if that is the case. I immediately felt that the interaction was off so I asked said bartender for our ID's back so that we could leave. He then threw, like literally threw our ID back and said " okay then leave". He told me that I looked like a baby and that maybe I should grow a beard. Very rude considering I felt that I handled the situation with full respect. if i could leave - stars i would. we get to the bar at about 11:50, and i went to the bathroom right away. i had to go get to the bathroom but after i came out of the bathroom, all of my friends were confronted by a bartender in white rimmed glasses in an aggressive mater. he looked at all of our IDs (all of us are over 21) and said "you know you have to be 21 right?" and we all agreed and said "yeah.. we're just going to head out" as he threw the ID's back at us and my boyfriend said "i don't understand why you have to be rude about about" in an aggressive manner the ENTIRE TIME WE WERE TRYING TO BE KIND AND RESPECTFUL!!! we ended up leaving because of a woman there trying to back up the bartender or jumper (whatever he was ; he was still an a-hole) and he literally threatened my friend as he was just trying to buy a drink. i don't get why your bartenders or jumpers have to be so rude and disrespectful to people who want to pay you money for a drink. i'm never coming here again because of that guy. so rude and my blood is still boiling 10 minutes later.
