Formerly called Pinocchio's, this place appears to have quite a following. Briskly busy on a Wednesday night, we still had quick service of our caprese salad and pizza. Full disclosure: the owner is a friend of the family Pagalo's (formerly Pinocchio's) has been open for years, but I'd never been. It's a usual lunch stop for my mom and grandma. We went in for lunch and I got the special - a 7" wood-fired pizza + soup (or could've gotten salad or another combination of the three) and I think it was something crazy like $6 or $7. And. It. Was. Great. The chicken noodle soup had a thicker, really delicious broth, with big chunks of vegetables and chicken. I got the basil and tomato pizza. It was so good! Big pieces of tomato, fresh basil shredded on top, mozzarella, garlic, red onion. And the crust! Nice and crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. I also tried my mom's pizza - the sausage. Really well spiced - 'zesty' comes to mind. I don't think the photos on Yelp do Pagalo's pizza justice. Neither of our pizzas were so overloaded with cheese (but I guess some people love just cheese!) and mine was really light. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm visiting my family. read more

My first pizza from here.... I ordered the Margarita Pizza. I was looking forward to a simple fresh pizza like u would find in Italy. So disappointed. I would have been more pleased with a frozen Digiorno. Way too many (mushy) tomatoes along with way too much brownish basil. And trust me I LOVE TOMATOES AND BASIL! I was really looking for to a simple margarita pizza but I felt they were trying too hard in all the wrong ways. Sauce, mozzarella, light sprinkle of fresh basil, maybe some Italian seasoning and be done. I'll try Pagalo's again, but definitely not ordering the Margarita. Yuck. Putrid Pizza! Wood Fired, yes. Do they know how to cook a wood fired pizza? NO! We ordered the hawaiin (pineapple, ham). The canned pineapple on the pizza was good. The ham was not cooked, not good flavored. A thin layer of cheese was under the toppings, and not lightly browned or bubbly as it should be. No sauce was on the pizza, so we had to order a cup of marinara, which was tasty at all. The thin crust of this pizza was bland, no taste, no texture. Just plain and awful. Went for supper got two pies and an app. Pizza was bland, chix was without seasoning. Nice crust, but the ingredients are blasé at best. Great food and great service at Pagalo's! I got the BLT Wedge Salad. Out came a romaine lettuce boat filled with real bacon chunks, fresh diced tomatoes (I like my tomatoes cut small like that), and delicious creamy garlic parmesan dressing. My significant other got a large Sicilian pizza. He ate about 1/3 and took the rest in a to-go pizza box. He also had a bottle of Stella Artois. It was cold but not VERY cold so he should have gotten it served in a frosty mug instead of drinking it out of the bottle. We love the pizza here (and now have a salad favorite too) so we know we will be back. The waitress Jessica was very attentive and friendly. She checked on us just enough. Came here on a recommendation from a friend and ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza. Flavors were great and the toppings were loaded on a fabulous thin crust. It almost felt like an entire lasagna on a pizza slice. There were layers of meat and cheese, almost like a deep dish. I was so excited to see Pagalos on grubhub for delivery! I was really craving some pizza and we ordered the meatball and sausage pizza it was delicious! Since Covid I have ordered it for pick up, and for delivery Grubhub. Before Covid My parents went in person weekly. The cooks are amazing they even make my mom pizza with her special cheese. The staff are always friendly and it feels like a big family when you go in person. I can not wait to dine in again soon. read more

I think this place has way more potential than actual results. With minor adjustments I think they can be dynamite. The taste of the crust is great, but it could use a bit more time in the oven to crisp up a little more. The sauce tasted very commercial, which is ok, but not outstanding. Ate here for the first time last night. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The bread sticks were delicious pillows of dough and definitely house made. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had - not dripping in dressing, crisp cold romaine and fresh shaved parmesan. The sausage and sun-dried tomato pizza was awesome. The gelato was a bit hard to eat but otherwise yummy. We will definitely be back and bring friends with us. read more

We came by for dinner after a long day at the baseball park before our 3 hour drive home. It was absolutely perfect. Quiet, quick, and most importantly, delicious. My 1/2 spinach salad was just the right size for a light dinner- dressing was fantastic. Breadsticks were perfect, soft on inside, and not over seasoned. My 11 had pizza, which he shared. All agreed it was delicious, especially the crust. Perfect cheese to sauce ratio. My husband enjoyed his Italian Beef and my 7 year old was happy to find PBJ on the menu. Heard this place was good from somebody from the NY area so I headed to check it out. Their lunch special is pretty decent at 6.50 for a small personal pizza, and either soup or salad. One can also get a sandwich if desired. My pizza was pretty good--the crust was nice and crispy, toppings were on par (chicken, mushrooms, parm cheese). The mandarin orange salad was also good and the poppy seed dressing was tasty, too. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone in the quad cities looking for excellent pizza. Prices were fair and quality was excellent. I believe they serve Pepsi and then there are many beers, wines and cocktails available as well. The services was nice. There is a parking lot. Pagalo's in Milan, Il is not the place to go to have a cocktail after a stressful day. I went there on a Wednesday night with my girlfriend after working all day. We just wanted to relax and have a drink. Two minutes after waking into this establishment, I knew we made a bad choice, everyone there was drunk and the bartender was extremely distasteful. We asked to order a drink, but without even asking us what we wanted she told me I am not of age to drink and to "get the hell out". What is ironic about this is that my girlfriend and I are 23 years old. We will never step foot into this eyesore for Milan ever again. read more

I have pretty much nothing but good things to say about this place. The pizza is excellent in both the alfredo and regular pizza. The crust is perfectly cooked with great texture and flavor and the sauce and toppings are well made. The breadsticks are excellent with perfect crispness and flavor. The gelatos are also excellent having had comparable ones in San Francisco. The only complaint I have it that the menu has at least one item that they no longer serve (chocolate brownie cheesecake), though that small disappointment does not make the food or service any worse, and I plan to return and sample other items. read more

I am a regular customer who orders from Pagalos at least twice a month. I ordered a, to go, pizza on Nov. 5th. It took a bit longer than usual to be ready but I didn't mind the wait too much. When it was ready, the pizza itself was less than the high quality pizzas I am accustomed to getting from them. I might add that Pagalos is the only place we order pizzas from and has been for years. I complained that the pizza's toppings we lacking and that they, on a medium size pizza, were as much as 1 1/2 inches away from the edge of the crust most of the way around. I was immediately told by one of the cooks that he had been making pizzas there for 20 years and that's the way they were supposed to be and I should have ordered it with extra toppings. I let him know that it was not up to the quality I usually get and I was displeased. He told me he had been warned about me (I have complained about the pizzas 2 times in the past but 99% of the time I have been happy with the pizzas and let them know). I let him know how often I come in and this pizzas did not meet the standard that I usually get. He said he didn't care how often I come in the pizza was made as it should be. He took a picture of it, I assume to send to his manager. I asked for my money back and left without the pizza. The events of yesterday have cost them the business of a regular customer who has been coming in for a number of years. read more

Eclectic menu! This place is great, they offer all kinds of gourmet pizzas: Thai chicken, Grecian artichoke, Barbecue chicken, Poma Sechi and Chicken Fajita to name a few. If that's not your flavor then you can start simple - they have one of the greatest Pepperoni pizza's in the Quad Cities. I took a minute to ask about their oven and was told that is an Earthstone wood-fired oven. It was imported from France and uses no electricity or gas, just seasoned logs. They also offer sandwiches, soups and salads but Pagalo's knows pizza. For all you lovers of local favorites such as Harris Pizza, Clint's, Frank's, etc, I agree those places are exceptional as well, but Pagalo's is special without being an imitation of those places. The only downfalls are parking and price. The lot is a little small and always near capacity but I have never had an issue with finding a spot. A large pepperoni is $20 a gourmet pizza such as a Garden Deluxe will run you $25.50 but I still say it's worth the price. read more

I really love this place. My fiancée went here the other night and we had the three cheese pizza served with marinara sauce (because this particular pizza does not come with sauce already on it) and that is why the next time we go, I will order a different pizza, but it was still delicious. I did not have any appetizers or dessert pizza so I cannot comment on any other food. I loved the cheese, the crust and the marinara sauce was pretty good. Had dinner there for the first time, good service but the pizza left a lot to be desired. We got a buffalo chicken pizza and the chicken was definitely of the frozen variety and was overall disgusting. The breadsticks were about the saltiest thing I've ever eaten. We asked for some Alfredo sauce which she brought out right away but was most certainly out of a jar, and I bet I could name the brand.
