I called the next morning after speaking with my insurance agent who confirmed they cannot charge tax, and was told by Joe the owner that it was a "convenience fee" for using the credit card machine. Ironically the "convenience fee" was $43.75 which was the exact amount of Erie County sales tax at 8.6% on $500. This company is illegally charging its customers for tax when all tax is already included in the reimbursement from the insurance company. The owner stated I was ungrateful and that it would have taken an additional 2-3 weeks if it was repaired at the dealership instead. He was rude and verbally abusive. I would not recommend anyone take their vehicle to this scam artist.

I was a little suspect so I took it to Gabe's Collision they gave me a estimate that was a thousand less they put it through insurance and someone ran into it in the parking lot all but $500 was covered they did an amazing job and it was done the day they promised. I really felt confident that All Star Collision and how they're going to take care of me and have my car ready and then it just kept coming back to well I think you need this I think you need that I think you need this and it's going to be this much more even though it should be more etc etc . Gabe's Collision was very professional everyone was in uniforms someone come out assessed my car gave me a written agreement within 25 minutes couldn't have been more pleased with them.

Dan was super flexible in getting the car checked out and giving me a price, then allowing me to drop it off in the morning a few days later to pick it up later that afternoon since my work conflicted with getting it fixed the first day I dropped it off. I was a bit late in picking it up due to a ride issue, which ended up working out okay because the part I needed hadn't arrived yet. I did wait a while in the shop to pick up my car, but Dan was nice enough to give me a discount on the bill. The extra time I spent there wasn't really a big deal at all. They also did my friend's head gasket and timing belt repair on his Subaru about a year ago at the same time as my last review and did a fantastic job for a really good price. More recently, they fixed a part of my friend's electronics in his car in about an hour or so. Overall have been having pretty good experiences here and the mechanics are always very open to telling you what you should or shouldn't get fixed. I send all my friends over to Dan the Car Man!
