John Bajek's my new mechanic, and he is one super-nice guy. Over three days, he handled two surprise repairs for me: replacing the sensor on my catalytic converter (as it went out the day before I took my car in for inspection), and replacing my starter (after towing my dead car from downtown Buffalo). Both repairs were an unpleasant surprise, as repairs tend to be, but John broke the news gently, and tried to save me money whenever he could. For example, he looked for used parts in his shop before ordering new, and as my starter blew after my car had just been in his shop, he didn't charge me for the tow to take it back for a look. He also explained the rationale behind each charge and repair -- for example, saying that while he hates to charge $75 just for the diagnostic computer service (still $5 less than you'd pay in a bigger city), it's because the computer equipment cost him thousands of dollars. As a woman, I especially appreciate the way he didn't dumb down or gloss over the details of the repairs he planned for my car. Instead, I felt like he really wanted me to understand and support his decisions, before they were made. I also appreciated the way he spoke to his staff. He always seemed considerate of their time and effort, making sure they took breaks and had time off during the holidays. When the boss cares about his people, my thinking is that they tend to do better work on your car! As I had to spend a lot of time in and around his shop waiting, John also played a great host to me, asking questions about my travels and pointing me towards a great diner across the street where I could have a cup of coffee and read the paper. John was also flexible regarding pickup time for the car, even coming in on his day off to get me my keys when I couldn't come in during regular shop hours. The man works hard. After being here for several hours, though, I do wish his garage were a bit more user-friendly -- a space heater, a few comfy chairs, and extra reading materials beyond the Christian periodicals and motorcycle magazines would go a long way! However, these are just sidenotes. Overall, John's a great, personable mechanic that I'd use again. read more

Long story short, drove up on Thursday after 280 miles AC stopped. Eventually we get to UB empty the car and off to storage for the rest of her stuff. I noticed a red light on the dash board. The 5th mechanic later who was willing and gave us the time to even look at her car and yes fixed it. The others wouldn't even look at the car. He had to order a part gave me an estimate and called the next day to say good news it's going to be $300 cheaper than I thought. Who does that! I cannot say enough about the his honesty, hospitality and the respect they gave myself and my daughter. A big plus he has a 24hour towing service if needed. I have used Bajek's for a number of years. I used him as a teenager when I lived at home and still use him today (so do my parents and siblings). Why? The simple answer is the service and the price. But if you want more details read on. Based on service alone, Bajek's has had my business. The owner, John, is always very nice to talk to, understanding and professional. He is good about giving you a fair time estimate on getting everything and its often times faster than I'd expect. He is also very honest. I've had experiences with other mechanics who lie to me about what it wrong with the car or try to sell me something I don't need. Ive also heard horror stories from people saying they think their mechanic causes problems on their car. This has never happened with Bajek's for me. Next, Bajek's wins out on price. I have talked to other mechanics who try to sell you top of the line parts on cars that most would consider wasted money. Bajek's will sell you great parts as needed, but there are plenty of times you need something repaired on a shoestring budget to keep you going. John and Bajek's does everything they can to fit your budget; they know most of us just need the car to work to get us from place to place. Very terrible service, tow truck driver showed up to my home at 10:55 am, He said it's a lot wrong with this car. He ask for the keys, I went in my house to get keys, upon my return with the keys he immediately told me he had an emergency. Told me that another tow driver was on the way.I later recieved a text stated another tow would arrive approximately at 11:27. I waited until 12noon, decided to call AAA(BAJEKS PRIVATELY CONTRACTED THRU AAA). Customer service told me that the driver had contacted them and said that he was not able to get my automobile with the tow. BAJEKS AUTOMOTIVE NEVER, I REPEAT NEVER EVEN TRIED. he just flat out told me he had an emergency .Customer service also told me my tow fee of $81.00 will be refunded to my card. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I will NOT recommend this BAJEKS automotive service located in buffalo NY to anyone .The tow truck driver behavior is very UNACCEPTABLE. We picked this place as closest to where our travel trailer broke down and we couldn't have been luckier to be served by John and his staff. They were super friendly and helpful and our bill was so much cheaper than we expected. We had to wait several weeks for repair parts to arrive and John allowed us to "camp" in the back of his shop in our trailer for a few days until we made other travel plans. He is the most honest repairer we have meet in our travels in the USA and nothing was too much trouble. Sad we dont live in Buffalo and could use him for all our car servicing. read more
