We've been to Pagliai's way too many times without writing a review, so here it is. This place has two of our favorite pizzas that we've ever eaten. My wife loves a good Taco pizza and they have the best we have experienced so far. My favorite is the bacon cheeseburger. They have Al the classics and we have never been disappointed with anything we've ordered. My son is not a big pizza fan and orders their pasta and sandwiches/subs and loves them. Service is solid. They have a small selection of domestic and even local brew beers. They also have a nice selection of ciders if you're into those. It is a classic pizza joint. I could not wait ti get off work Friday 2/26/26 to go to this restaurant to get the garden pizza. I had only had this pizza 2 previous times and it was so good it left a awesome taste in my mouth. I was so disappointed. The tomatoes on top of the pizza did not look fresh like last time a month ago. The bottom of my pizza had black ashes on it as though the pizza oven had been used so much and not cleaned that the soot was on the bottom of my pizza. Not only was soot on the bottom there was a piece of soot in the box. The pizza looked sloppy and I thought what happened. I expect this pizza to look fresh it fid not taste all that well either something was missing so I liked the cheese up well there we a few onions on my.pizza as though they may have run out. I decided to take it as a $27 loss not leave a tip. I thought about calling, but sadly good service is not what it should be. I did not want to get into an argument. I just decided to write a review and never return. I'm disappointed because I been telling people how good and fresh this pizza was when I ordered. We ate here for dinner the day of the Marathon, so it was expectedly busy. Regardless, we located a clean table near the back and were waited on within a few minutes. The server was helpful and pleasant. We ordered the Pagliai Special (sausage, green pepper, and onion) and it was delicious. A very happening spot in downtown Mankato. I was in town for my bday, and had lunch here with a friend. Great hospitality & service, delicious. The name is pronounced "Polly-Eyes" ... my brain keeps wanting to say "PAGLIANI's" (which is a different place, probably in New Jersey lol) Due to my east coast upbringing, my pizza standard are high. While this one doesn't 100% meet Jersey pizza... they do have solid pies and garlic bread. Everything feels authentic in the food. Plus, they let me play Frank Sinatra and were quick to correct an error in our order. Quite busy during lunch, which is a good sign; however, next time I'll come during a quieter time. College town pizzeria was my expectation, but I was pleasantly surprised by excellent wait staff!! And awesome food!! The salad I started with was fresh, colorful, very tasty! Then came a "Huge" plate of spaghetti with excellent sauce. The cheese bread was wonderfully covered in melted, gooey goodness! The final topping to an amazing meal, the bill With a 20% tip was only $17.00.... And I have enough leftovers for a full lunch meal!! Eventually the family loved its business to Iowa City, where it's still owned by members of the original family. My husband wanted to order from this place whole we are staying at the City Center Hotel and toss place delivers so a nice plus. However, delivery was quick but we didn't get utensils or plates and napkins to eat our food. The milk that was listed for delivery only said it was in a glass bottle but when it came it was in a 32 oz. cup for soda. The pizza was greasy and had little shape integrity. The spaghetti was good. The garlic toast that came with the spaghetti was over toasted and burnt. Overall, it was a decent first experience since I like the ability to order online and customized with special requests. There was a good pizza list but it didn't have the kind that I wanted and would have to customized which turns out to be way to expensive so I went with one of their pizza options. Will stick with Domino's even though it's a chain. At least I'll be able to order it the way I like online without having to use the phone to call and not be able to look at the menu while on the call and would have to put the person on speaker. read more
