A superb community dining experience, and our server, Denise, added so much to our visit, making great suggestions and telling about the venue and the town's history. Enjoyed a tasty Caesar salad to open things, then loved the tortellini, medium hand tossed sweet Italian pizza. Finished with tasty Gelato. Absolutely loved the atmosphere, as we got to know all the people around us and loved their stories! Many were locals who enjoyed our stopping in their hometown! What a CUTE little place! The inside was so cute, decorated just perfectly. We visit them frequently at the Eagan market fest but wanted to try the actual restaurant. The pasta was good, wish there was a bit more for the price and maybe some broccoli or peas added. The pizza was amazing! We will definitely be back for that. Worth the drive! The Italian offerings are varied and delish and certainly creative! Enjoy the friendly staff and the difficult choices you'll have to make. My rule of thumb - the more toppings, I pick hand tossed. The fewer the toppings, the thin crust is exceptional. This visit called for focaccia and the sweet Italian sausage. Chefs kiss! I was on a quest the other week, to find the spiciest pizza in Minnesota and I am pretty certain I've found it here. After well over an hour of googling and poring over menus I saw the description for their Diavola pizza... "Our Hot & Spicy Pizza! Red sauce sprinkled with our special pepper blend (a house mix of jalapeño, habanero and cayenne peppers) - sliced spicy Italian sausage, yellow & red peppers, pepperoncini and fresh jalapeño topped with mozzarella, pepper jack cheese and ghost pepper cheese . . . pick your heat: HOT; HOTTER; or DEATH !" Imagine my giddiness when I saw heat level DEATH! Montgomery MN is for many a pretty far hike to get to, but you're able to grab your pizza curbside and take a quick trip down the block to the amazing little brewery (Montgomery Brewery) and bring your pizzas in to eat while you drink through their selection of beer. (Pizza and beer is a match made in heaven) the crust was a nice texture, there were a TON of toppings, my husband got the Chicken in a grass skirt which was really good- I do wish the pineapple would be slightly smaller chunks and spread out more otherwise it was super tasty as well. I can't remember what our friend ordered but he really enjoyed his pizza too. It's a fun day trip or little half day trip for some amazing pizza. If you're a huge spice head like me, the Diavola death heat level is amazing, it is not so spicy you can't eat because you're too busy involuntarily crying and blowing your nose but it's the spiciest I've had authentically that I felt didn't need any hot sauce or red pepper flakes. 10/10 would drive 40+ minutes to order again. read more

I had been here once before to dine in and had a pleasant experience, but I think this place lost any future business from me tonight. I placed an online order for pickup for 1 medium pizza and 2 orders of wings. My confirmation email said it would be ready in an hour! Well, I showed up at the appointed time and had to sit and wait in my car for another half hour before they finally brought my food out. Ridiculous! I should've gotten my food for free at that point! I came here with family for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. It's easy to judge it by the cover since it's tucked in a small town, but it's a hidden gem south of the cities. Authentic home made Italian pizza, fun atmosphere, and super friendly staff. Prices are reasonable and will definitely be back! Had a great night of pizza here. Started with the Italian salad for 4 and it's a nice fresh salad with lots of good veggies and yummy dressing. Then had the Sweet Italian hand tossed pizza. Very good pizza. Service was prompt and waitress was good as well. We sat outside which was really nice. Cute building and worth the drive from Mankato. read more

We moved to the area (Lonsdale) five months ago, and we finally tried Pizzeria 201 for the 1st time last night, and I already can't wait to go back. Troy runs this business with his wife Diane, and they do everything right. The pizza was fantastic! We got thin crust pizzas...one Shrimp Scampi pizza and one was half Veggie and half custom order. Admittedly, I love pizza and you would have to do something terribly wrong for me to post a bad review on the pizza alone. But, more importantly, it is run the way a small business should be run. Troy took my order, and he took the time to learn a little more about me, how I heard about Pizzeria 201, and did the little things to earn a new regular customer. Everything was great!! We absolutely love the pizza here, but are extremely disappointed that they have not opened their full restaurant since Covid. We live 30 mins away and our only option is take out - if we get take out - by the time we get home the pizza is cold! Please consider opening your restaurant to the public, we no longer order pizza anymore due to it only being take out. read more

Pizzeria 201 came as a complete surprise to my family. They were in the area in search of a venue for our rehearsal dinner, and stopped in for some lunch. Apparently it was closed for a private event, but the owner (feel so dumb for not knowing his name) made them a pizza on the house and told them he would join them when he was finished to answer some questions about the area...talk about customer service. Fast forward to 2 years later (and a delish rehearsal dinner catered by 201), and my husband surprised me and took me back for a sentimental Valentines day. He called ahead (to a place that does not scream 'reservations') and they reserved the booth in the corner, and had set up some candles for us. The owner even made a special dish just for us, as he had a private event he was catering for that day, and it completely blew my mind. Chicken marsala, with honestly the best broccoli I have ever had, I gobbled them up like french fries, and mashed potatoes mixed with something heavenly...I ate it so fast, I didn't even think to remember what I ate. We also ordered a hawaiian pizza (hand-tossed) and ordered up some of their beer specials (Um...$2 beer specials on a Saturday night?!!?) ... needless to say, we were amazed at their hospitality, attention to detail and service, and will be bragging about them for years to come. We are sad it is so far away from the Twin Cities, or we would find ourselves there each and every weekend, no doubt. read more

Had the meat is neat pizza and the hot pepperoncini dip delivered to montgomery brewery while we we're there tasting beers. Pizza was absolutely fantastic. Nice crisp thin crust pizza. We ordered the large 14" for 4 adults. It was so good it left us wanting more, wish you could order an extra large. The pepperoncini dip was a house made baked dip, it was delicious and came with a fresh baguette. I thought it was a little over priced at $9.00, however I would definately order it again. We saw the same pizza delivery guy at montgomery brewery 5 times while we were there, I guess we weren't the only ones having a great meal with a great beer. read more

Stopped in for dinner before the torchlight parade this evening. Nice, small town pizza place. Had the hot pepperoncini appetizer- yummy. Also had a small thin crust pepperoni, mushroom and Canadian bacon pizza. Crust had good taste, not soda cracker, but good thin crust. Toppings were very tasty, not too much sauce. Place was busy, but service was excellent. Will definitely be making a return visit. read more

Finally got a chance to try this place. Our family went to New Prague's two sit down pizza places on a Friday night and faced potential 40 minute waits at both places. I remembered hearing about Pizzeria 201 and called to make sure they are open (Beware the hours - Wednesday to Sunday evenings...see their website to be sure). I called, they were open with no wait, we drove down. There was one other party and a few pick ups. Great selection of bottle microbrews from all over, some local wines, and a nice slice of 'za. They have some terrific specialty pizzas. Service was good including taking care of our preschool age daughter. I got the chicken bacon ranch, my wife did a cheese for her and the kiddo. It's inside an old main street building, but it's cozy and inviting. It's been open a few years and is worth the visit. I wouldn't wait 40 minutes for mediocre pizza in New Prague, drive out to Montgomery and try this place out. read more
