Dino's Pizzeria is a cute, old-fashioned style pizzeria with a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of charm. Even on a weeknight it was busy, but the service was still friendly and attentive. We tried the monthly special Korean BBQ pizza, and it was excellent--definitely worth ordering if it's available. We also enjoyed a couple of Mad Butcher beers, which paired perfectly with the pizza. I was sent here with the comment of best pizza in town .. Definitely try the alfredo. So here I was .. and highly disappointed. The crust and the sausage was good, but the sauce, chicken and basically the flavor was bland. I had the italian seasoning and red pepper flakes to get some taste. The cheese was so thick it never really melted correctly. Add to that the menu said they had Dr Pepper and the server said they did not. Dino's 5pm on a Saturday. Fire! Beat the rush and was seated immediately. Shared Caesar salad, pizza and I had a couple of glasses of house red. Delicious pizza! The first class followed by bbq chicken got wiped out. The sauce, cheese and base are to die for, as you smell the pizza baking in their brick oven, made fresh to order. Ordered 3 large pizzas for a group of 9 and it was perfect with some left overs. The vibe is authentic italian, very family friendly with crayons to draw on the table sheets during wait times. Vomit. My friend and I went in on a Monday night and were basically the only people in. We had some issues with service like having to get our own straws but still having fun, when my friend and i saw the cook chewing on line. My friend said it was chewing tobacco and that twisted our stomachs. We both ended up puking in the lot between building. When my friend came to talk to manager he said she left a bad review on Facebook so she didn't need to be heard. I didn't believe it so i called and was told i could not talk to the general manager, i assume by the same guy. They aren't setting any land speed records here!!! That being said atmosphere is great and pizza was also really good. New York style with plenty of fresh toppings. We also had the spicy Margaritas which were also done really well. This place I could easily rate a 4 or 5 but the service was very inattentive and for not being very busy food took just under an hour and waitress didn't check in with us for about 45 minutes to tell us our food should be up soon. This is hands down the best pizza in Mankato. Good toppings, good sauce, good crust...why 3 stars you ask? It is insanely expensive. My wife and I had 3 pizzas and 2 bottles of wine with a traveling companion in Rome for about $35. We came home and said, "Let's compare our favorite in town to the pizza from Rome". So we got a pizza and "Italian nachos"(which were a bag of kettle chips covered with a little cheese and pizza sauce) for $50 carry out. Are you kidding me? We don't mind spending money on food, especially if it's great food. Unfortunately this isn't great, it's just better than the other options in Mankato and not as good as the above average in the cities. read more

We came here last night, party of 8. They only had one table that sat 8 and it was occupied, so we waited about 20 minutes. It was well worth the wait. I wanted to give this establishment 4 stars, but I decided on 5. First, they were out of coffee and hot cider. I finally settled on a tea, which was lukewarm and it came out after my dinner was served. However, we ordered the bruschetta, which was hands down the best bruschetta I've ever had. That's a big compliment, I'm very well traveled. The spinach and artichoke dip was very good too. I couldn't even be annoyed about the coffee anymore. The baked mostaccioli was very good, just a wee bit watery at the bottom. Nonetheless, very good. The star of the show was the créme brûlée. It was toasted perfectly on the top and creamy underneath, that made up for everything. One of the best I've had so far. It gets insanely packed in here, people were just piling in, but our waitress was a rockstar. Best pizza I've had in a long while. The service was great and the atmosphere was fitting without being too cheesy. All tables had sheets of paper and crayons for guests to use and color on. Definitely a highlight for my youngsters. Water is served upon request in a chilled corked bottle. The beer/wine selection is decent, enough of a variety for a small place like this. We ordered the crab and lobster dip which came our piping hot. Enough to be shared amongst the 5 of us. Italian day dream was a robust red sauce pizza with the most scrumptious Italian sausage. All the veggies were super fresh and plentiful. Definitely your classic when you think of a pizza. First class was very impressive. A sauce less vegetarian pizza with loads of mozzarella, Gouda, feta, and Parmesan! Holy cheese heaven. I've been to Dino's once before, many years ago. Yesterday, I decided to check it out again. The Bloody Mary is unique & I wanted to give it a try. The Monday special is buy one pizza, & you receive free cheesy bread & cinnamon dessert sticks. I placed an order to go. I was told it would take 15 minutes. It ended up taking 30 minutes to receive my complete order. The pizza & cinnamon dessert sticks were ready at 20 minutes after my order. I was told the cheese bread would be a bit longer. 10 minutes longer to be exactly. Imagine dining in the restaurant and receiving your appetizer after you receive the main meal? Clearly, progressive cooking is an issue in the kitchen. So by the time I got home to eat all the food, it had basically cooked itself again in the box, & wasn't hot. The crust on the pizza was very chewy. The crust on the cinnamon dessert sticks was undercooked. The marinara sauce that came with the cheesy bread tasted like canned tomato soup. Definitely a waste of $22. I could get much better pizza at a national chain or by getting a frozen pizza. I did enjoy the pickles & shrimp on the pizza. However, the sauce was disappointing. I have been here multiple times and normally the service is okay at best. Prior times my food was really very good. However my most recent visit was borderline horrible, not getting greeted and only seeing employees eyes turn away from the guests waiting at the door multiple times. Took about 10 minutes to even get acknowledged, the woman behind me asked if we had been greeted and was visibly upset. read more

Bummed I didn't come here sooner! Dinos is a super cute, quaint, Italian restaurant. The interior decor and music takes u on a mini vacation to Italy. It's very warm and home-y feeling. To drink I ordered the Sauvignon Blanc, and my friend got the Bloody Mary. My wine was nice and he said the bloody was one of the bests he had ever had. It had a really nice setup of a pickle, banana pepper, olive, ham, and pepperoni. For an appetizer we ordered the crab and lobster dip. The bread was so fresh and tasty and the dip was very creamy and full of meat. Definitely recommend. For lunch we shared a large 18" specialty pizza called Italian Day Dream. It was very delicious! The toppings were plentiful, the crust was amazingly crispy and a little fluffy, and the cheese was awesome! Got a really cool cheese pull every time you picked up a new slice. I will say, for only two people a large was waaaay too big. I probably could have split a small. I would very much recommend visiting Dinos while you are in the area. read more

The Bloody Mary and Quattro pizza are classics. It's a great spot to visit with friends, especially those who aren't from Mankato. I also personally love the tiramisu but don't get it often because I am usually too stuffed. First, the staff were very welcoming and extremely pleasant to deal with. It seems like they actually liked their job. Food was amazing and tasted like a home cooked meal. Be a little patient because the food takes a little bit of time to come out but it is well worth the wait. Family friendly, very clean, and the charm of an authentic Italian pizza and pasta place. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Fridays can be busy with long waits especially for carry out so plan ahead. Decided to give Dinos Margherita pizza a try tonight and was sadly very disappointed. I have had their other pizza before and it was always good, so I am not sure why they went so wrong with the marg pizza. The sauce was extremely overwhelming and this style of pizza isn't supposed to have even a regular amount of sauce on it. This also caused the crust to be flimsy and soggy. More spendy than I would usually spend on a pizza but I love coloring on the tables, the wall, and drawing cartoons with my loved ones while we wait for my beloved Bloody Mary pizza.
