Great store to browse in after having lunch. Lots of fun knickknacks, plants and some artwork. Very friendly staff. Would have loved a plant but hard when you live in the mainland. :) Decent prices and I did buy a couple small prints from one of my favorite artists from back when I lived on Oahu, Peggy Hopper. Great shopping center in downtown Honolulu.

While waiting for my car's oil change, it's always been an errand of mine not to stop by at Paiko. I always tell myself to not buy something but every single time I ALWAYS COME HOME WITH FLOWERS hahaha. I couldn't help it. As someone who loves flowers and plants, you have no idea how much I love this place. It may be pricey for some but I think it's worth it. The staff are always friendly and cheerful. The store is neat and well organized. Parking may be hard on some days but this place is definitely worth your time. Aloha!

My two leaf Hoya Macrophylla Albomarginata has been growing super fast it's pushed out four leaves already. The best $12 dollars spent

In the past two years, I'd say plant prices have definitely shot through the roof. The prices are high and certain plants are extremely hard to come by in person. I saw this place on Yelp and had to swing by! Lucky I did, they had a bunch of hoyas literally right in front of the door way. The best prices you'd ever see for a hoya macrophylla or latifolia...I'm not sure what it is just gotta wait for the blooms. I also got a hoya publicalyx and I'm hoping it's a Royal Hawaiian purple, but won't know until it blooms. The customer service is wonderful when I was there, I had talked to a guy about his mother's hoya kerri and he was extremely sweet. I was in Oahu for 6 months as my husband worked remote so I had accumulated some plants in that time. I carefully took off all the soil on the roots and wrapped it in moist paper towel put them in a ziplock, went through agricultural inspection with a breeze at the airport. If I had known it would be that easy to bring back the plants as a carry on, I would have brought a giant suitcase worth! Anyways, if you are a plant person check them out!

Indecisive yup that's me in a nutshell, buuut when I see something I like I know it in a heartbeat and/or figure out how I'm going to have to make it work. I've been trying to slowly learning build my air plant society and figure out how it could work with my lifestyle, places like Paiko is so helpful with both tools and knowledge it's comforting to visit and get inspired. Today from the "Do it yourself" bar I picked up these beautiful green quartz-like rocks that I had to have and can't wait to figure out how to arrange it. They do have two bag sizes small is $7 and large is $14. Beautifully arranged or to get inspired they have so much for you to choose and decide it's so much fun, thank you!!

I was around Kakaako area and found this place! They opened 11am. Today was the first day from stay at home order! Cafe was opened too! This place is amazing. All plants are fresh, pretty and stylish! I was looking for terra-cotta pots but there is a few. Maybe I was there too early so they were busy opening. There are a lot of coin parking around the shop. 4 stars because pots are little bit too pricy! But definitely I come back!!!

Had a great experience at Paiko with a friend the other day. I had always thought Paiko was a place for looking but not buying, and would enjoy window shopping here or glancing at the decor while waiting for my coffee back when Arvo was also in this space. However, my friend was looking for flowers for her dad's birthday, so we decided to check this place out. I was surprised to find that the custom arrangements were very accessible. We didn't know anything about plants and arrangements, and the florist was so helpful. She asked for our budget ($30-$40) and some preferences for types of flowers, colors, etc based on what they had in stock, and she said it would be no problem to create an arrangement within those parameters. She helped us pick out a vase as well and we sat in the cute parklet outside for 20 minutes while she completed the arrangement. The final product was so impressive and my friend's dad loved it. The process was so easy, pleasant, and accessible, and I'm looking forward to coming back!

We stopped into the shop today hoping to find some options for a friend who is currently grieving. We wanted something subtle with whites, greens, and yellows. The shop offered to make us a custom arrangement same day, only took 30 minutes. They did an amazing job honoring the situation and provided us a beautiful arrangement that wasn't too over the top. I will definitely be recommending this shop to my friends for their local floral needs.

Oh hey, just your favorite plant mom checking out another great plant shop in Honolulu! My family is full of green thumbs, I on the other hand have a half green, half brown thumb. I'm not the best at keeping plants alive but I definitely do try my best. **insert embarrassed emoji face** Lucky for me, Paiko has a wide selection of those hard to kill plants. Making it easy for the half brown, half green thumbs like me to keep something alive. Since the pandemic started, I've become more interested in learning more about plants (and responsibility). Paiko has made it easy to find cool looking plants, pots, vases, garden charms?, etc. They specialize in also providing some pretty low maintenance plants like air plants and succulents, in addition to their gorgeous variety of flowers to create stunning bouquets! On a more recent visit I was really drawn to their cozy corners full of pots, paintings, and hangings. They also have some books, apparel, and other accessories for sale as well. I purchased a Tree Hoo shirt and hat, as well as some cuttings to put in my house. This shop is a little on the pricier side, but I will admit that everything here is made of really great quality stuff and sometimes they bring in some hard to find plants and flowers. I've visited in the past and created a terrarium/succulent garden. Depending on what you get (sand, rocks, pot, decorations, etc.), your terrarium can cost $20+. Not a bad deal considering you get such a cute thing to display. If you're looking to add some color (mostly green) to your life, this place is a must visit!

"Soft" bridal bouquet in vase/box for travel

This is THEE place to go! I looked into different florists for a bridal bouquet for my elopement and this one caught my eye because of all the different exotic flowers. Their website is so user friendly and the customer service was top notch. We had a sunrise ceremony so I picked up the flowers the afternoon before. They placed them in a nice vase/box for travel and it was so helpful to look perfect for the next morning. Mark was awesome when I showed up! So friendly and seemed genuinely excited for me! You can tell he enjoys what he does. So shout out to him! I also spoke with a female on the phone to confirm my flowers were ready for pick up and she was also very friendly! Even if you're just window shopping, check this place out! The store is so cute with so many eye catching flowers and plants.

What a great concept and interactive store. In the heart of Kakaako, this is a great place to come if you are decorating your home, looking for a gift or wanting to create a gift; even a fun place to take a date for a DIY project. Paiko has plants, succulents, air plants, pottery and vessels for the plants, soil and stone fillers. Each item is ala cart and you put together your creation and pay at the counter. Super easy and fun. The staff is friendly and helpful if you don't know where to start. I came here with vessels I bought at Pier 1 want to create some Christmas presents and found the perfect components. Not sure exactly what I wanted, with a quick lesson and look around, I quickly got the hang of things. Parking is free for the first hour in the garage and you can get validation there after.

    Lots of pretty protea flowers

Paiko is a cute little plant arrangement store that shares space with Arvo & another clothing boutique in Salt at Our Kakaako. I've browsed through the store on earlier occasions but decided to buy some plants while I was waiting for my take away food order from Arvo. They have a small variety of low maintenance plants and some beautiful pin cushion & king protea flowers. I ended up buying two plants (an air plant & mini anthurium) for my office that were on display in cute little pots. They were packed very nicely in a neat cardboard box for transport home. I ended up spending around $50 for 2 plants & 2 pots but I try to support the small business community. It's a good place to pick out a plant, rocks (for the plant base) and pots for a cute, thoughtful, green-friendly gift.

Stopped in to see what this cute little shop is all about. Saw some cool plants and "DIY" succulent plants. After seeing the set up and getting help from Mahina; we decided to give it a try! I've been wanting a new house plant... I had a baby bamboo plant before but these succulents were irresistible! After choosing our plants, we picked our pots and toppings. It was fun getting messy and doing this arts and crafts for our Saturday outing. lol It's as close as we were getting to nature! Plus, we'd be off to a Karaoke Birthday party shortly after! My Hubby had fun making his plant too! He chose nice rainbow pebble toppings. It turned out great! Got our 2 cute little house plants! Yay! Although, it did cost a pretty penny at $45 for 2 of them! Yikes! Then today, I met a girl at the Baby expo who had some cute succulent plants in a box on her booth and said she gets hers at the Kapolei nursery? Or some Kapolei farm... and it's $4 each. But not including the pots and toppings but good option for future purchases. All in all, it was fun and learned how to care for succulents.

Checking out Salt. New mini mall, so everyone's excited to check it out. There's a parking structure right on the side. Here at Paiko's, the wifey and I made a his and hers succulent plant in a vase. Little things ran up to a whopping $45. Plant needs to be watered every 10-12 days. Right up my alley if you know what I mean, lol. Mahina clerk helped us along the way to set us up. She was helpful and we learned a lot about these plants. Mahalo, for the great experience.

Koolau Farmers is a locally owned/operated nursery and garden supply business that are home…read moregardening experts. It was started in 1938 by East Oahu farmers and a Kailua papaya cooperative as a farmer-founded business entity that shifted from farming to home gardening. Today, it supplies plants, floral arrangements, fertilizers, pesticides, garden tools, etc. for home gardeners. There are currently two locations for Koolau Farmers: Kaneohe and Honolulu (McCully). This review is for the Honolulu location. Items that the McCully location carry include: bromeliads, flowers, fruit, orchids, palms, fruit trees, peppers, tropical fruits, shrubs, soil, trees, veggies, hono hono orchids, dwarf fruit trees (Meyer lemon, Tahitian limes, Naval oranges, jabong, grafted mango, avocado). It also offers seed starting supplies, fertilizers for plants and flowers, worm composting bins; and info re growing and care of indoor potted plants, organic gardening, soil testing, and proper lighting. What brought us to Koolau Farmers is my lilikoi vine that I've had in my back yard for a number of years. With the help of bees, the vine had flourished and produced many delicious fruits for homemade lilikoi desserts, such as lilikoi chiffon pie, lilikoi curd, lilikoi bars, and more. But in recent years, the flowers would bloom, but because there are no bees to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, no fruits are produced. Questions to Koolau Farmers confirmed that there is a lack of nesting sites for carpenter bees (I think they're known as the black bumblebees that we no longer see) to pollinate the lilikoi flowers, resulting in a lack of fruit. According to Koolau Farmers, the flowers must be hand-pollinated instead. Staff provided instructions to my hubby on how to hand-pollinate the beautiful lilikoi flowers. A work in progress, and I'm sure more questions to follow. Then the next project will be our dwarf local orange tree. Where is the fruit? There's a single tiny orange on it, yes, only one! Hope Koolau Farmers can help us on this one! Another work in progress. Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and provides helpful guidance. An unlikely spot in urban Honolulu to have a nursery and garden supply store, but I'm glad that it's there! The interior space is not that big, but houses boxes of fertilizers and various home gardening equipment for home gardeners. There may be displays of seasonal items on how to grow certain plants, such as hono hono orchids. Open daily from 8a to 5p. Free parking in the private lot. On the outside private lot are scattered variety of healthy local plants, herbs, orchids, and fruit trees. We look forward in working with Koolau Farmers and knowing that they are there to help us with our home gardening needs!
