Owner Kelly is friendly and personal, available on the property. Staff is helpful and friendly too. We love the location near our son who lives on the hill above Cottage Inn. Every time we pick a different room to experience with interesting decor, however our least favorite have the animal heads looking at you in bed! (: The setting and location are from a by gone (nostalgia) era which we love plus modern upgrades. The breakfasts are delicious, delivered to our room but we also enjoyed when there was a "communal buffet" in the main building where folks gathered to chat. We love the staff's efforts to be more "sustainable " but we were a bit disappointed that the breakfast was delivered with plastic and so much disposable wrappings. Reusable containers would be best. The Beach and surrounding are beautiful and well kept. Love the trees!

Very clean, spacious and the guy I spoke with on the phone that manages the place is great to work with, I'm guessing he is the owner. Self check in with code at the doors to rooms make it easy. 10/10 recommend. Not a lot of snow right now but we will definitely be back with the family again next time we have a lot of snow. Possibly may even come back during summer to enjoy the lake. Price is reasonable, definitely worth every penny.

One side had a king bed, and the other had a pull-out couch with a table and chairs. Both rooms had their own bathrooms, which was actually a huge win. Ladies... you know how nice it is to have your own bathroom while traveling. He used one, I used the other. Zero sharing. The absolute best part? They are SO dog friendly. They provide bowls and dog beds, and they even give your pup treats. It made traveling with our dog feel easy and welcome. Location-wise, you really can't beat it. It's right across from the Village and the closest lift is the Tram, which is a huge plus when you're clunking around in ski boots. Being that close makes ski mornings (and afternoons) so much easier. We had a mini fridge in the room, and you can rent a microwave for $25 for the stay -- totally worth it for us. The front desk staff was amazing. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They gave great recommendations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and even offered road safety tips when we were heading out. The hotel also has a restaurant/bar on-site that's open Thursday through Monday. We were able to eat there one night and it was delicious. My only complaint? I wish it were open seven days a week! Another great perk for skiers: they'll hold your skis behind the front desk, which is such a convenient touch. We can't wait to come back. Perfect spot for a ski trip -- especially if you're bringing your dog along.

I stayed in a smaller room this time which was the Mountain Hideaway located all the way in the back corner. Since this unit doesn't have a full kitchenette the breakfast and free snacks at the office was included in my stay. But this room did have all you needed from a sink, to a fridge, and a electrified stove which I used to make breakfast one morning. The fridge gets really cold so just watch out your stuff on the top rack may freeze a bit. The room came with a nice tub which I used every night to relax my body. The heater they have in this room works really well and kept me and my doggies warm throughout the day and night. They come and clean your room everyday so this is a major reason why they request for your dogs to be well behaved. I'm coming back here again I hope in the summer. Its located 1 mile from Homewood resort so if you ski or snowboard it's really convenient, especially if your kids are fur babies. Came across Eden Vale Inn when looking for a place to stay for a rafting trip with All-Outdoors on…read morethe American River. It's such a cute inn! We checked in after 6pm, so check in instructions were texted to us. Easy to follow. Was easy to find. We stopped at Wally's Pizza for dinner in Cameron Park based off their restaurant suggestions on their website and sent via text check in instructions. Great suggestion! The next mornings breakfast is texted the night before, offering some options like juice preference. And it's delivered around 9am the next morning. Since we had to be at rafting at 9 our first morning at the Inn, they delivered us fruit, scones, and juice early at 8:15am which was really nice. Breakfast was delicious, both mornings. And super fresh. We stayed in the Cypress room. Was as pictured online. Room was clean. The patio area is nice. We explored the grounds a bit our last morning and saw many places to sit around. We enjoyed some time up at the pond in the morning. The staff - I assume owners - were very friendly. We were very happy with our stay here and would return!

We reserved the Rio Vista suite along with the attached beach bungalow so each had our own rooms downstairs. The back slider opened onto a sandy beach area with gorgeous views and a pool. We took day trips to Grass Valley and Placerville and had an amazing time. Spent the last half of our last day there sitting outside, looking at the views and enjoying the sunshine. The owners are amazing... They delivered breakfast to our doors each morning and boy were they delicious. I am definitely bringing my husband back so that he can enjoy this place and the surrounding areas as much as I did.

While it's a bit of a distance to the actual venue, it was well worth it for the quiet, calm and very relaxing environment. Beautiful property and I wish I had time to use the pool outside. We stayed in the Bella Vista honeymoon suite. I loved it. It allowed my husband and I to talk. There's a calming and clarifying vibe to the room and the place in general. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would stay here again if I was in the area 100%. I think about this place from time to time. I actually miss it!

King bed with a bunkbed twin on top and full on bottom. It was spacious for us. It was clean and we had plenty of towels. The lodge is located about 15 mins away from Heavenly Village area. There was and not much street traffic and it was quite. Breakfast ends at 10:30. They have 2 waffle makers, drip coffee, coffee/hot chocolate machine, various breads and bagels, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and some other drinks. Definitely very happy with our stay.

As soon as you book the reservation you get a huge email laying out what to expect at the mansion including directions and what to expect. The email then goes in and tells about the town and its MANY attractions and history and how to contact those business. Once we arrived, a note in the door said to "call Connie once you arrive and are ready to check in...LOL'! We thought this was great and gave it a very "homey" atmosphere. Connie also owns a bar/saloon in town called The Silver Queen, which has been featured on Ghost Adventures and is worth a trip there in its own merit and that is where she was when we arrived. She basically said...walk in the side door, go straight ahead and turn right and the door to your room is right there with the key in it. Let me know if you need anything else...LOL. We thought that was just the best! The rooms were very clean and comfortable and had AC, TV, Keurig coffee maker, private bath, and ours had a patio outside. We took a self guided tour around the house, as no one was there, and fell in love with the place. The big thing that sets it apart from any other place that we have been is the fact that the owner, Connie, is the one who literally cook you a three course gourmet breakfast every morning! Her meals were spectacular and the hospitality and conversation was amazing. She has lived they for 61 years and could answer pretty much and question you had and had a hilarious and interesting story to tell about whatever you wanted to know I was well! We met some great couples at breakfast and we are SURE to be back in the future. This mansion and the city, which exceeded all expectations as well, will definitely in regular rotation on our many adventures every year. You will NOT be disappointed when you stay here!

Walking into the house, my girlfriend and I were transported into what felt like snow white's wonderland cabin. The teacups on the ceiling, the wood slab table with pie plates, the velvet couches... there are cozy little details everywhere; the more we looked, the more we were amazed. We were greeted by Priya, the owner of Flume's End who is a one-woman show. Her energy was contagious and I immediately felt at home. She showed us to our room, the Empire Suite, which has a huge bed, a gorgeous bathroom, and its own outside patio balcony. This is an all inclusive experience. Priya likes to leave out cookies for guests as "midnight snacks," and there's hot cocoa and coffee available all day! I can't say enough about the breakfast, which had everything you could ask for. Can we talk about the little parfait cups?!? And the mini egg dishes? I was living in tea party heaven. You can't beat staying at Flume's End. It's a 5 minute walk into downtown, and the backyard is a fairy forest that you can wander around and enjoy day & night. We'll be back!

The property is listed as a B&B on several platforms, the website features breakfast imagery, and the booking form asks for dietary restrictions, so we reasonably assumed breakfast and access to common areas were part of the experience. Instead, Room 2 functions more like a small private room rental with limited access to the house. We were surprised to learn upon arrival that we did not have access to the main house common areas. For us, shared spaces are a major part of what makes staying in a bed and breakfast enjoyable. The room itself was also extremely small. With a queen bed and a twin bed in the room, there was essentially no space to move around comfortably and no seating area at all. For three guests, there was nowhere to sit except on the beds, and simply walking around the room was difficult due to the tight layout. Breakfast was also not served. Two muffins were left for us despite the reservation being for three guests, and despite the booking form asking for dietary restrictions. We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts over the years throughout California--both coastal and wine country--and the experiences we've loved have always included warm hospitality, welcoming hosts, shared spaces to relax in, and memorable breakfasts. The common thread in these stays is that guests are encouraged to enjoy the home itself, interact with hosts, and relax in shared spaces. That sense of hospitality and atmosphere is the reason we choose B&Bs. While the building at The Parsonage is historic, Room 2 itself felt very modern and generic rather than reflecting the character of a historic inn. To be fair, the owners later pointed out that the website includes a detailed description and a floor plan showing the limited access for Room 2. However, we found the wording easy to misinterpret when booking, particularly given the B&B categorization, breakfast imagery on the site, and the dietary restriction field in the booking form. At approximately $280 for the night (including a $50 fee for a third guest), the experience did not match what we personally expect from a bed-and-breakfast stay. This room may work fine for travelers who simply want a small private room and plan to spend most of their time out in town. However, for guests specifically seeking the hospitality, shared spaces, and atmosphere that typically define a bed-and-breakfast experience, Room 2 may not meet those expectations.
