I cannot sing enough praise about Flume's End! This was the best B&B experience I have ever had. The website doesn't do this place justice, you'd have no idea how home-y it really is (Priya - put some updated pictures on there!!!). Walking into the house, my girlfriend and I were transported into what felt like snow white's wonderland cabin. The teacups on the ceiling, the wood slab table with pie plates, the velvet couches... there are cozy little details everywhere; the more we looked, the more we were amazed. We were greeted by Priya, the owner of Flume's End who is a one-woman show. Her energy was contagious and I immediately felt at home. She showed us to our room, the Empire Suite, which has a huge bed, a gorgeous bathroom, and its own outside patio balcony. This is an all inclusive experience. Priya likes to leave out cookies for guests as "midnight snacks," and there's hot cocoa and coffee available all day! I can't say enough about the breakfast, which had everything you could ask for. Can we talk about the little parfait cups?!? And the mini egg dishes? I was living in tea party heaven. You can't beat staying at Flume's End. It's a 5 minute walk into downtown, and the backyard is a fairy forest that you can wander around and enjoy day & night. We'll be back! read more

Absolutely, hands down, the best place we have ever stayed. Incredibly charming with countless tiny details thoughtfully prepared. All by one woman no less!!! Our room view was stunning right above a beautiful waterfall. Breakfast was amazing and a delight to enjoy back on our patio. What a true Gem. First time at a bed & breakfast. Based on this experience, it won't be the last. The truth is, my love and I are going to make this a yearly weekend getaway. Just spent three nights in the Running Water room at Flume's End where the sound of water running by the room was very relaxing. I was very impressed by the beautiful old building with plenty of history. Very scenic and relaxing with water running through the property. Continental does not do the breakfast justice. There are English muffins with tasty jams, along with outstanding yogurt and granola, along with a variety of other offerings. Rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. That should be enough but Priya really adds to the draw here. She's a one woman show and she is quite simply amazing. She's so personable that I was disappointed that I couldn't spend more time with her. Priya clearly loves her job and her inn as she focuses on the finer touches. You can spend days exploring the house and grounds and continually find new treasures. However, I was unable to find even a particle of dust. I already want to go back. read more

We had a great stay at Flume's End. We were in the Falling Water room and were literally at the flume's end. Our room was well appointed for it's size. And we could hear the river cascading over the small waterfall right under our window. There was a small patio off our room that was perfect for a champagne toast. The decor of the inn is amazing. So much to look at and take in. Breakfast was great. Lots of choices and good coffee. It felt more like we were at a favorite aunts home than at a hotel. We will definitely be back. What an amazing experience! The inn is tucked right on the outskirts of town, and it's just a few minute walk over a bridge to hit downtown. There's parking for guests, which was convenient. We were allowed to check in at 11! Beautifully charming and quaint ambiance throughout- we were oohing and aahing while getting the initial tour. Priya, the innkeeper, was so kind and helpful! We had the empire suite, which had two beds, a bathroom, and balcony. Spacious, great view, modern bathroom, electric fireplace... no complaints. There's always snacks out downstairs in the common area, as well as a variety of drinks you can prepare. Great seating areas around as well! Breakfast exceeded our expectations, everything seemed carefully prepared with love. There was granola, english muffins, yogurt jars, hardboiled eggs, fresh fruit, scones/muffins, oatmeal, granola bars, OJ and milk. Priya has a fabulous collection of vintage dishes and silverware. I almost hate to write a review for this because I do not want anyone else knowing about it and booking these rooms! We came for one weekend and picked this place based on its excellent reviews and proximity to the Nevada County Fairgrounds (~10 minute drive). None of the reviews I found mentioned parking, so, let me say that there is reserved parking for hotel guests. We brought our 1/2 ton pickup, so, I was a little worried, but we had no issues - even when we returned to the BnB at 9:30pm after the event at the fairgrounds. We were in the Empire Suite, which actually has two separate bedrooms. There is one bathroom with his and hers sinks and an updated toilet and shower. The interior of the room is SO adorable and tastefully decorated. We loved the private patio (that was up on the second floor of the building) that was completely obscured from view. The creek that runs behind the building is absolutely enchanting. My husband and I are not outdoorsy by any means, but even we loved exploring the grounds which is obviously lovingly cared for. Lots of comfortable outdoor seating that is enmeshed in nature - very relaxing soundtrack! Check-in was very quick and easy. The innkeeper was the sweetest! Her phone number is posted everywhere in case you need anything - but, we never ran into any issues. The kitchen has filtered water, coffee, and tea available. It is fully stocked with anything you might need to prepare your own food and has a fridge as well. I was almost sad we were not staying longer to take advantage! Breakfast is available from 8am to 10am on weekends. This gave us time to get a lazy start to the morning and head down to breakfast at 9am. A beautiful spread with hardboiled eggs, very cute fruit salad arrangements, cereals, yogurt, pastries, etc. My favorite continental breakfast in quite some time! As mentioned, the location is fantastic as well. It is just ten minutes from the fairgrounds and walkable to downtown Nevada City. (We drove there and it ended up taking us longer to find parking that it would have if we had walked. Seriously - it's an 8 minute walk. Go for it.) My only complaint is that the Queen size bed in our room was pretty soft. The hubby and I thought the Queen size was cozy, but, found ourselves sinking into the mattress a few times! If you are into softer mattresses, I wouldn't see a problem. (Let me say, nonetheless, this would not stop us from coming back!) We will absolutely be making this place part of our rotation. I am so grateful to have stumbled across this jewel of a Bed and Breakfast online. From our arrival to our (sad) departure, Flume's End was the perfect getaway place for an old friend and myself. In addition to the room itself being sparkling clean and extremely comfortable with all we wanted/needed (we stayed in the Peach Tree room) we were greeted by Priya with genuine warmth and given a tour of the entire property with all its beautiful amenities - natural and man made. The property is secluded, and has a fairy-like quality with a sweet little stream trickling through it that our lovely host had thoughtfully placed seats in, allowing for sitting and cooling our feet as we breathed and enjoyed the oak trees. There were plenty of other places to be outside, and fairy lights ringed the property allowing for nighttime outdoor seating. Truly magical. That it is a block away from the old downtown Nevada City was icing on the cake. It was the inn itself, however, that managed to take our breath away at every turn. The entire place is lovingly curated with vintage treasures, from the antique teacups that decorated the exposed beams to the artwork ... down to the ornamental details in every fixture. We were truly stunned and delighted, and kept discovering new and fabulous antiquities throughout the visit. The breakfast was perfect for us - eggs and pastries and fresh berries, amazing yogurt and good coffee, all served in the finest vintage cups and plates and silverware. I stayed at Flume's End on 5/12/23. To say that I enjoyed my stay would be an understatement. The owners have poured so much love and attention into this beautiful property. My room was absolutely wonderful, with a little balcony looking right onto the creek adjacent to the inn. My son and I enjoyed our time sitting in the garden area, playing games beside the running water. Being that the location is close to the freeway, there is a bit of road noise, but I found that it was easily drowned out by the sound of the creek. I enjoyed my first deep night of sleep in months, and it was an extremely restorative experience. Beyond that, I woke up refreshed, enjoyed a beautiful walk in the surrounding area, and came back to the most lovely breakfast... Every detail was absolutely perfect. I was also able to walk downtown Nevada City to have dinner the night of my stay...everything is close by, this is quite an amazing location! Bonuses: a communal area with kitchenware and utensils, ability to make coffee, and mini fridge to store leftover food/drinks and fresh water to refill my water bottle. Plus, the towels smelled amazing! I could go on... The bottom line is, this is an amazing place to stay in Nevada City! read more

The ac in our room was noisy and we wish there was ceiling fan. Room was clean. Bed was soft. We had private balcony, nice balcony seating but the artificial turf was weird. The b&b has nice breakfast and many areas to eat and enjoy the creek. No in room coffee but k cups and tea bags available in kitchen. read more

WHAT A CUTE PLACE! We stayed here 2 nights for the Victorian Christmas fair, it was our first time going and we were so happy we chose to stay here. Upon arrival our host Priya came out to greet us and checked us in. She was very friendly and very accommodating. There are only 5 rooms, so it's an intimate B&B. We liked where it was located, just 2 blocks off of the main street and it's a nice walk across a bridge that over looks a beautiful creek. Our room was small but cozy & nicely decorated. It overlooked the creek, a small waterfall was right beneath our window and we had a small patio with 2 chairs and a table. Our room was one of two that was downstairs & right outside our room there was a small bureau that had coffee, tea, hot chocolate, a Keurig and some mugs & flatware. There was also a small fridge and water available. It was convenient if you didn't want to run upstairs to the main kitchen. They had a nice continental breakfast every morning upstairs and left little munchies out all day & night on the table. It's in a beautiful spot & we would definitely stay here again! read more

While attending a wedding at the Miners Cultural Center we book the Falling Water and the room next door (the Pyrite). Both rooms required us to go down three sets of stairs which were not easy to walk down especially with luggage. One set was so narrow that you had to walk down sideways to fit our feet on which felt incredibly dangerous. We were not told of these stairs and would not of booked these two rooms since one person in our party had not completely recovered from a knee replacement. Inside the rooms were several step ups to get to the sink and another to get into the shower area. Luckily we brought a nightlight which helped us when getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom since the light switches were not accessible prior to entering the sink area which leads to the shower. The bed in the Falling Water room was incredible hard like sleeping on concrete. The pluses: rooms were clean; our two rooms had a connected balcony with tab and chairs that overlooked the water and garden and seating areas down there which were lovely; the breakfast room was well equipped and the continental breakfast was very nice; the manage/owner was incredibly sweet and lived in the house next door; the location was close to the wedding venue; wifi was available; the price was reasonable; it was very quiet. Will we return to these two rooms? No. read more

I had a delightful one-night stay at Flume's End in September. The continental breakfast deserves 5 stars for taste and presentation, I especially loved the mini jars of what tasted like homemade yogurt. It felt like staying in a treehouse. The only reason I'm downgrading to four stars is that the room could use a bit of an upgrade - multiple lights were non-functional, including the light on the balcony adjoining the room, so I was not able to enjoy sitting outside after dark. Also, the balcony was covered with astroturf, which felt a bit tacky and not very inviting. The rooms themselves (I stayed in the empire suite, which has two rooms) were quirky and fun, and the bathroom had a walk-in shower and seemed newly remodeled.
