We have a Painted Tree in South Florida that will be opening soon. I wanted to check this out so that I would have an idea what to expect when ours opens. It's almost like the antique malls where people rent stalls and sell their wares, except that everything is new. There are craft items, collectibles, clothing, candles, socks and so much more! They even had a stall selling Glamorous Wash Laundry Detergent. I like the High Maintenance and Diva scents and use it for my bedding. I love the way that it makes them smell! If you find something that you like, just bring it up to the register at the front of the store and they'll ring you up. I hope that our Painted Tree is just as cool as this was! read more

Pros: Wide variety of goods from various vendors with their own stalls. Well lit, not noisy. Most of the goods seemed to be of decent quality. Cons: The stalls are not arranged in any kind of order, so you have to walk the entire store. Some of the aisles felt a bit tight. Biggest con and why I will not go back: 2 day return policy and a 14 day exchange policy, which is not noted anywhere that I noticed. Not a helpful policy for Christmas gifts, as I learned the hard way. read more

I absolutely LOVE the endless selection of items to choose from here. It is my go to place when shopping for gifts for family and friends. All of the booths are so cute too! 10/10 recommend!!! They do have a 48 hour return policy. And it's posted at the checkout counters and the customer service representatives always mention it to me when I'm buying something. read more

So much fun to explore all the small boutiques- spent 2 hours here! I was in town for work from the West Coast and not much time to sightsee or explore. This was much more fun to visit than I expected. I am a huge supporter of small, local businesses and this is such a convenient location in the Stonehenge area of North Raleigh to swing by and shop. The variety of booths that are already there is wonderful. Several booths were actively setting up and there was a handful more that were clearly reserved and not yet moved in. They have everything from clothing, accessories, jewelry, journals, book selections, artwork, seasonal decor, candles and wax melts, year-round decor, homemade food items, hard-to-find nostalgic candy, even international snacks and candies, baby gifts, greeting cards, socks, ties, stickers galore, pens, pins, kids items, bath bombs, North Carolina memorabilia, gift ideas and even MORE unique gift ideas! Did I mention gift ideas? And that is just to name a few! That list is nowhere exhaustive! Seriously, there's something for everyone in this place. This will be my go-to for hostess and thank you gifts for this upcoming holiday season for sure. The large waterfall/fountain towards the middle back of the store was a nice, relaxing touch. YOu could hear it all throughout that area. The lighting was fantastic so it helped us as consumers better see the vibrant colors and shades of the items we were perusing. The ceilings were high so it felt bright and airy as well. Side note: I am thrilled they clearly have good loss-prevention features in place as these small businesses cannot afford to lose revenue. My rating of a 1 is solely for the policy that was posted no where, and only 2 of the 3 staff knew of. The girl helping me had no idea they had a zero exchange policy. This is listed neither on the receipts or in the store which I confirmed with Theresa W. the sales associate. I tried to exchange a dress - with all original tags, never worn, but was snug, for the next size up which they had. As I entered the store I said to the 2 associates at the counter I wasn't making a return, but a size exchange. The one associate looked at the tag and directed me to the area where I had previously gotten the item. When I got to the vendors selection the size I needed was available and along the way I picked up $127.11 worth of other items. Once back at the counter Theresa informed me of a no exchange policy and asked if I still wanted my other items. I asked her to explain the policy, I was getting the same dress, the vendor would not be losing any money, I wasn't asking for anything other than going from a large to an xl. I asked if they could please make an exception because I would very much like to wear the dress, but was told no. After my purchase I came back in to the store requesting to see the policy in writing at which point Theresa told me she could not produce, but they still would not simply exchange the dress. This store has a wonderful concept and most vendors sell unique items. In the past 2 weeks I have spent $286.16 there. For them to not simply exchange this dress is ridiculous, no matter what policy. Is a bad review and a lost customer worth this? In a world where people live and die by reviews you really should just try, just try to take care of a good customer. I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE. I don't normally write reviews,, but this required it. I'm appalled at how I was treated today. My friend and I met up here this morning in hopes of doing some quick gift finding for our moms for mother's day. I'm a homeschool mom of 3 so I'm very used to taking my children with me wherever I go and they are well behaved. I have NEVER, I truly mean NEVER been treated more rudely or insensitively in my life. From the moment we walked in with our kids we were glared at instead of greeted. We shook it off and continued to browse. IF YOU DON'T WANT CHILDREN IN YOUR STORE, THEN POST A SIGN. Instead of kindly coming to us and talking with us about 2 of our kids running 1 time in the store and the other children gently touching items that they had brought their own money and were considering purchasing for their Mimi, a disgruntled employee came over and barked at my children to stop touching things and then just stood there and slowly walked behind me up the aisle eyeing every move we made clearly annoyed that we were there. I finally turned around and asked her to stop following us and told her I take full responsibility for my children and we will purchase anything that happens to break if that was to occur. She stormed off and told me she wasn't following me, but was "trying to make her way to the cash register". I then politely handed her the items in my cart telling her if we weren't wanted in her store we were happy to just leave. She huffed and stormed off leaving me there with the items still in my hand. I calmly took them to the counter and set them down and said goodbye. As a fellow small business owner I CANNOT FATHOM treating a customer - let alone a mom of young kids this way.
