This location has different vibes then that of the Gilbert location. The employees here weren't friendly and just stared at us when we walked in. The selection in each booth is pretty much the same as a lot of the merchandise is repetitive. I reallly loved the Alien booth though - super fun! read more

Huge space of approx 25k sq feet, so give yourself enough time when you come in. Interesting concept made up of local boutiques showcasing a variety of products! So fun to wander and walk through the booths and supporting local businesses. I stopped at all of them and grabbed some unique items for family and friends. Really wish I had more time to wander and shop. But, I will be back. There was everything in there from clothing, jewelry, soaps, dog items, kids clothing, toys, and more. I did not give it 5 stars because the people working at the painted tree were not that friendly. I had several questions about individual boutiques and how the business worked but they were really weird at answering the questions. I absolutely love this place! I take all my friends and family that come from out of town here because it's so much fun to walk around and look at everything. It's like a permanent women's expo for introverts because you don't have all the people trying to talk to you or sell you things. Sometimes that's just too much pressure! When they first opened, there wasn't the largest selection of booths, it was a lot of the same items but I will say lately there has been a much larger variety. I've seen a couple of men's booths pop up as well as some tea and coffee booths. One of my favorites has wooden 3D puzzles. I've never left without wanting everything and buying something. This is the perfect place to get a unique gift for seriously anyone from a beautiful ocean resin cutting board for your neighbor to socks with sushi on them for your boss who is an avid sock collector. read more

I'm a vendor at one of the stores in Arizona. I'm reluctant to say which one, for fear of retaliation. Selling in Painted Tree has been nothing short of a nightmare. I'm not alone, because many of the vendors (booth owners) have told me that they have the same complaints. Here's how it works: You sign a yearly contract for $400/month. If you sell something, it goes towards your rent. If you sell more than $400, then you get a check. Well, maybe you might get a check. You'll have to ask several times, and you'll get many excuses. They take a 10% commission on all sales. Problems include not getting credited for sales made. There's a transaction fee on your rent. Shoplifting is high, because customers put items in their pockets and walk out. AND the biggest problem is that you can't reach anyone in the corporate office. NO ONE! There's not even a phone number or email address to lodge a complaint or ask a question. I've even resorted to writing the owners in Little Rock, AK. No one ever contacts you. And sadly the store managers have the same problems. Store managers are so frustrated with how this business is run, so don't expect them to be your advocate. This is a horrible business that takes your rent, charges a transaction fee on top of it, and you have to fight to get your money. Don't sell anything with this company. read more

Their hours are good, however, if you have a question, don't bother calling because if no one is available to pick up the phone, they do not have a recording to verify hours or answer any questions you may have. Their voice-mail simply states that they do not have a mailbox that is set-up. There is no informative recording with regular or holiday hours, or stating that no one is available to take your call. Not good for a business to have a blank message. read more

Really cool spot to leisurely spend a few hours. I ended up buying all natural soap (Oud & citrus) from a vendor in Mesa (The Bubble Factory). Also, bought an anklet from another vendor. There's all kinds of things here from jewelry to soaps to thing for baby to candles to cow hide rugs to lamps. It's worth a visit. They even provide complimentary infused water. Give yourself a couple of hours and don't rush. Just enjoy. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!! I bought a jacket on Monday, I was getting ready to iron it so I took the tag off. I then realized the top snap was ripped thru to the one side of the jacket. I took it back the next day, (returns must ne 48 hours with my tags, receipt and original bag explaining I bought it the day before. They said the tag was off so they couldn't do anything. We asked to speak to a manager. Informed he wasn't there but she called him. She spoke to him and said he said the same thing, nothing we can do. We asked mid we could talk to him and she replied No, he didn't want to talk to anyone on his day off, only me. We argued that the item was defective. NOTHING WE CAN DO. I will highly suggestion if you want good customer service...DO NOT SHOP HERE! read more

My wife purchased a ceramic dipping tray from the Gilbert location. The clerk put this very heavy ceramic thing in a single plastic shopping bag with almost no packaging. My wife even questioned her on this, and she said it would be fine. Well, the handle on the bag broke while I was bringing it into the house, causing the causing the tray to break into dozen of pieces. The store refuses to do anything per store policy, even though it was their packaging, and my wife questioned the clerk who put it in this bag. Very poor customer service. We are now out $40.. would not recommend read more

Stopped in Painted Tree .. had been shopping at Ulta. Adorable store and the staff was smiling, helpful, accessible. I have been a retail manager for over 25 years .. I was impressed. Supporting small business is nice to see and they had nice upscale merchandise. Bought a really cute top. Came back the next day with my mother and we left with over $600 dollars of metal yard art. Painted Tree was a fun little place. It was large and had a variety of different booths to look at. They had a large fountain in the back, that was soothing to hear and a nice to look at. There are all kinds if different vendors here. I found some things I liked, but didn't buy. I did buy one little thing which was a tiny clay pot for like a succulent or something. I plan to put it in my backyard with a cute tiny cacti. Whatever you may be looking for, and even not looking for you might probably find here. If you like this kind of thing, and you are in the area, you should check them out. I'll be back, especially in the summer. read more

I went in for the first time today; while I thought it was cute and love the concept, I found 2 of the booths quite off-putting. When you want to spend time and relax and support local and then you see very political booths full of very divisive and frankly unsavory, I'd go elsewhere. Yes, there were many booths containing unique and handmade items which were wonderful. However, there were way too many booths with cheap imports, especially Mexico imports of metal plants and pottery one would find everywhere for half the price. I didn't think that was the business model of The Painted Tree but guess it is. I won't be back anytime soon. read more

This place is unbelievable. So many different local vendors. So many options. Trust me -- you're guaranteed to find at least SOMETHING you'll like. The price ranges do vary -- Some items are very expensive, and some are very cheap.... Either way you're supporting a local business. I was really excited with the concept of this place. Individual stalls that show a crafts persons merchandise. It's a lot of the same and the place is HUGE. They need some diversity there's a lot of the same over and over. Hardly any of the crafts people are there during the week, maybe on the weekend? But the issue (I've been here twice now) is the people at the front of the store, where you check out are absolutely clueless. They were very excited about a puppy but wern't helping any of the customers. The puppy belonged to one of the girls working there. There was a big line of people wanting to pay and check out. This group of giggling girls are going to put this business out of business! Seriously it's been the same both times I was there. The girls are surly when you check out, and I don't think I'll be going back. I had breakables and they didn't even wrap them up! A lot of this stuff is in old town and I don't have to put up with the attitudes. read more

I really want to like this store and support small businesses/artists, but I feel like a I've seen a lot of this merchandise before, either at craft fairs or other stores in Scottsdale. There is also a serious lack of diversity. How many wooden signs, wreaths or bedazzled items proclaiming "Wine O'clock" does a person need? There's also quite a bit of religious merchandise, which is great if that's what you want, but a bit disappointing if you're not into that stuff. read more

I was excited to see this store set up the way it is. Once upon a time, I had a space like this in an antique store and a business revamping furniture and whatever crafty thing suited me at the time. Even better that this is clean, fashionable and more upscale. However, I agree that there needs to be more diversity. If you like a bracelet, keep walking through the store and you will find a dozen other sites (at least) with the same thing of varying prices. It's a huge space and could do better if they courted variety. Though I thought most of the stuff was cute/pretty/trendy, a great deal was "not my style" and I daydreamed about injecting some nice items for people who don't want what everyone else has. For the most part, the prices were good. I read there was a waiting list, but there were some empty spaces when I was there. I looked online to check booth prices and of course there aren't any--but there are warnings about what happens when you don't pay your rent or damage the space. :/ I would enjoy walking around on other visits, as I like to support small or local businesses and like seeing what's "in" but probably wouldn't spend too much money here as much of it is "already been done". read more

This is a great co-op concept with consignment merchandise, large and small. Vendors set up their own space in this unique shopping experience. Think of an outdoor art fair brought indoors. Goods: pets, clothing, jewelry, packaged food, pottery, candles, stuff for babies/children, home & holiday, hair gadgets, hats/socks, gifts and on & on. One can easily spend a couple of hours going through this cozy place. Plenty of new and on trend items. Location is in The Promenade shopping area between Nordstrom Rack and World Market. I will never again go to the Painted Tree again. The manager Christina was rude, spoke down to me and I over heard her belittling her staff. When you have a question you would think the manager would have the answer but she wasn't able to give me an answer, so at that point she started to do other things instead of speaking with me. The venders have great stuff but unfortunately the atmosphere and management makes it uncomfortable to shop. read more
