My daughter brought me here as a Mothers Day surprise. I've have always been wanting to try this but never made the time but was also afraid that I would be terrible at it! To my surprise, they actually drew out the outline of what we were painting. That was very helpful. We had a fantastic instructor as well. I thought they would come by and judge your painting but he didn't, instead he stood up front and gave pointers and kept reminding us to have fun. He played fantastic music, pretty sure there wasn't not 1 song I didn't like! The other thing I enjoyed is it is BYOB and food if you want. There were some people that brought wine and cheese, crackers etc. I love this instead of having to purchase wine you don't like. They do provide you with clear cups for your wine. We brought our own wine opener but I'm pretty sure they have one you can use if necessary. A really good experience for all occasions, rather it be girls night, date night, mother/daughter time. Heck you could even come solo because they encourage you to chat with other people! Plenty of free parking which is always a bonus in the city. read more

I came here the day after Valentines day so as expected, the theme was still very much love inspired. There is plenty of parking at they are apart of a plaza with other interesting places that may be worth exploring at a later point. For the paint night itself, it was such a fun time! Our instructor was so engaging, supportive, and funny. She went quick but also made it a point to check in on each of us and provide guidance when requested. The group of people we painted with were also super sweet which added to the night even more. I came for a surprise date night and had a good time. The employee leading us was funny and kept things flowing. My only critique is that we started roughly 10-15min late because they weren't ready with the canvas outlines, however we weren't given an extra 10-15min at the end because they had another group coming. This meant we were rushed at the end and I didn't get to add some of the details I wanted. I think I would have like my painting more if I didn't have to rush at the end. I would recommend this location, maybe just try to come for their last class of the day. read more

Had so much fun on a Monday night! Tickets were easy to get since it was a Monday. Not too crowded. The teacher was fantastic, maybe a bit too advanced for me, but I had a blast trying to attempt to make my painting look anything like the sample. A very chill vibe especially for someone like me who is terrible at art!They make the class and art so easy and possible for you to make blemishes and it still turnout to be something you are proud of. I am no artist, but this class was tons of fun. When taking this class I had nostalgic thought of painting by numbers, this class is the adult version of such. The alcohol is by far the driving force behind the artwork. That, coupled with the upbeat music playing, it was easy to unwind and (try to) make a masterpiece. For the most part, our instructor was patient with our requests for clarification or assistance. A couple people came in extremely late/disruptive, darkening the mood for the rest of us that were told late arrivals would be rejected. The show must go on. Worrying about the outcome of your painting is futile, it will be fine. The instructors will make sure of that. I felt like Van Gogh with both ears when I was finished. I am definitely planning to go back. read more

Has a good time here. We were running a little late and our arrival time got pushed back even further due to an incident that happened at the club in the next plaza. Although we were 40 minutes late when we finally got around the traffic the owner and instructor still allowed me and my friends to paint. The instructor was friendly, music was great, and the facility was clean. Due to the Covid pandemic instructors are offering the option to pick up paint kits and follow along via zoom. I had such a fun time at PWAT Buckhead! Not sure how I feel about that acronym, but I'll use it anyway. The instructions advised to arrive about twenty minutes prior to your session, but we got there within the twenty minute grace period. Sooooo we got there at 8:20, right at the cutoff. Thank God our art instructors were gracious enough to allow us to sit and start! We came wine ready, the assistant instructor encouraging us to throw the wine back, relax, and enjoy. The venue itself is pretty easy to find and there's a large sign for the studio in front. It's located on the second floor and is adjacent to another PWAT studio. As far as the session, we went to a couples night where people brought a significant other, best friend, roommate, whoever! instructor, Ian was really good and he was easy to follow along. There are dryers on each side of the room in case you need a little extra drying time. The energy was really great throughout. There were a couple of obnoxious people present and I doubt it was the alcohol, but our experience wasn't faltered because of it. The art instructors gave great advice on textures and colors and they allowed us to be as creative as we wanted. I absolutely loved it and I would definitely go to another PWAT paint session! read more

This was my second experience at a painting class and my first with the Painting with a Twist franchise. Our group of 6 visited mid-day on a Saturday. As we entered, the owner greeted us and took our payment. We then proceeded to the class which was set up in the back room. We were just on time to the class so it began shortly after we arrived. The instructor was very pleasant and patient with the majority of us who were not artistically inclined. She spent some time demonstrating the recommended techniques and she also walked around to observe our progress. For the class, there's a particular image that everyone is encouraged to paint but any attendee is open to paint whatever he or she wants. One guy in our group chose a more complicated picture to create and the instructor was very accommodating, bringing him the right paint colors and offering a few pointers. In the end, we had our own masterpieces (ha!) and great memories. This is a fun event for friends, couples, or groups. read more

I cannot say enough great things regarding this place! I have never been to a painting class like this so I had no idea what to expect! I take that back except for the time my mother wasted money on trying to put me in a painting class when I was young, which was an epic fail and waste of her money! For all my drawlingly challenged people like myself they outline the canvas for you with the picture you are going to draw. It is almost foolproof, if you can paint in the lines which in my case can be a bit of a challenge at times! You are also given a real artist to guide you through the process step-by-step, and in my case help me not waste $35 and come home with a black blob! The staff was so great they had great music to keep you hyped during the painting session! They let you bring food and alcohol in the establishment of which you can enjoy while you paint! The unique thing about them is they let you choose what painting you would like to draw instead of having a set drawing for that specific day! You check in, as soon as you arrive, and they'll show you your painting stations. The paint is already poured, and they supply everything: brushes, canvas, easel. I have taken quite a few BYOB painting classes in the area, and I must say my experience at PWAT-Buckhead was honestly among one of my favorites. I am no artist, but I do find painting to be quite relaxing. Everyone I interacted with at this location was so incredibly nice and helpful. Our main instructor was Brandon. He was engaging, funny, and very talented. All of his games and conversations were so fun and helped time pass by quickly as parts of our paintings dried. Dawn was the floor assistant and she was very attentive, but was not overbearing at all. I have been to classes where instructors or assistants will pull the brush out of your hand and modify the painting according to what they like. However, Dawn was cognizant and always made sure people were comfortable with the way she was helping them, which I absolutely loved. Although I was initially hesitant about painting such a large canvas, I am very happy with how my artwork turned out (with the help of Brandon and Dawn) and cannot wait to find a place to hang it! This class was so much fun! I was a little nervous because I have no painting skills what so ever and just knew this was going to be a disaster but to my surprise that wasn't the case at all. The artist (Scott) was super funny and explained everything. His assistant (Kelly) kept walking around and making sure you were on the right path & refilled any pint/water/napkins you may need. Before I forget ! They are a licensed bar so you can bring your own wine/champagne/liquor and sip while you paint. They also allow you to bring whatever food/snacks you like. The class was full but didn't feel cramped or anything & the studio itself was super clean & organized. They have a private room for parties that wish to have a more intimate setting but to be honest it was pretty fun out with other people. Chatted with some of my neighbors and found that they were regular returning customers which I thought was pretty cool. Adrian (the manager) was amazing ! She's so energetic and keeps the party going with all the latest music going through the surround sound. This place has plenty of free parking so no worries there. This was my first time visiting Painting with a Twist and it was also, by far, my favorite paint party experience. I've always had an enjoyable time at the other events I've attended. But this party was LIT! I'm not sure if it was due to the fact that this was a special Purple Rain party in honor of The Purple One, Prince Rogers Nelson, or if this is how they do things every time. But I am here for it! The manager and artist who led our class, Adrian, is pretty much awesome. She and her bae, who was our DJ for the evening, kept the party hype all night. Adrian also did an amazing job instructing us on how to paint the portrait of the day. And there was alcohol there, so this lightweight lush was happy. read more

I had such a better time here than I thought I would. The teachers help you every step of the way, there's good music and everyone is upbeat and encouraging. That's the best thing about art, you can't really do it wrong. We brought a bottle of wine, hummus and some pita chips and it was a perfect date filled with laughs and a sentimental gift to take home after (custom painting!!). I highly recommend and will be back. It seems like a great concept for a group outing or event where you want to have fun and avoid any awkward silence. Everyone is constantly occupied and having a great time, which is great. The owner was there and took the time to introduce herself and to make sure we were enjoying our evening, which really helped make us feel welcomed and is something I appreciated. They also have a "paint your pet" night once a month where you bring in a photo and they transpose a light version onto canvas which you use as a guideline to paint. For a 20 year wedding anniversary we decided to try this painting with a twist let me remind you that my husband is very shy it was kind of not really into it with the idea, but I will tell you we had the best time, he looked at me and said wow this was a good idea. I would highly recommend doing this ,I look forward to doing this again . Doesn't have to be a couple thing it could be just for you to get away and just relax. I had the best time at this place! They really know how to have a good time. I didn't go for a regular paint night but I went for one of their monthly parties. They had a Purple Rain Part II party which was absolutely awesome! There was plenty of parking and there is additional parking in the back of the building. When you arrive you sit down at your seat and there is a plate with a bunch of paint colors. You also get a cup of water with two brushes. Since it was a party night we got to get some champagne and heavy snacks which was awesome. The decorations were also really cute with purple beads and cute purple cups, plates, napkins and everything. They even had a DJ! (Once again this is a party night so this is not ways the case). Either way our hostess was amazing. She walked us carefully through how to start your painting and I got really into it. She also had raffles throughout the whole night to give out prizes which was a really nice touch. She was really friendly and the whole staff was helpful in making sure we had everything we need. When it was all said and done I had an absolutely gorgeous painting (my first ever) and it's now hanging in my bathroom. So I had fun and I am extremely proud of myself. I will definitely be back.
