I haven't done a sip and paint night in years! So I was really looking forward to Painting with a Twist. My friend and I came here on a Saturday night for a girls night. Homemade sangria and chips in hand :) The event was pretty much started on time and wrapped up right at the 2 hour mark. Our instructor was nice however we could not hear him over the music (asked a couple times to speak louder) but eventually we just did the best with what we could see visually lol. I like that the classes are relatively small-medium ish. I think there was roughly 12 or so people in attendance. My friend did a fabulous job (hers in on left) and I'd give myself an A for effort! We came in for a date night and had so much fun! This was our first time doing a paint and sip event, so we didn't know what to expect. Our teacher Jonah was great - made it simple to follow, and it was just the right pace. We brought some wine and cheese, which was great to nibble on. Though you only really have a bit of time before you start painting. Once you get going, there's not that much down time! We also added a candle on before, which was fun to pick out make as well. i booked a class for my team for a team building event and we had such a great time. There is not that much parking so if you're planning to go with a group I would consider car pooling. They are a BYOB and BYOF establishment so that was great! We brought some wine and some small bites to have. The set up was really nice and everything started on time. They only had one good wine bottle opener and they did not provide plates for us to have our food, there were only a few plastic cups. I would recommend bringing all these things yourself just in case. The instructor was good and very patient with us and the instruction was great! I would recommend this as a great thing to do for groups, dates, solo. It was nice and relaxing to paint and have some drinks! I love painting with a twist! My Mom and Aunt flew in from Chicago for a weekend. I surprised them with a late Friday night class. Back home we go pretty often and this was the first time where there was a rough sketch of the drawing we were doing. I am by no means an artist but I sure felt like one thanks to the amazing instructor (Jamie) and her assistant (Ivy)! She not only taught one painting but three paintings simultaneously! Moreover she prepped our TX shaped canvases with white paint and had all the colors ready to go by the time we got there! Overall the class was so fun, upbeat, positive, easy to follow, ran on time, and just felt like a party as we played a musical guessing game that become very competitive! I have been to Pinot's Pallet a couple times before and the set up is the same but the class here was way more fun, thanks to the wonderful Instructor! Went with girlfriends last night and we made the best of it, but I wouldn't recommend this place. It was a 2 hour class that started 40 minutes late and felt, well, rushed. I've been to one of these classes at a different place/different company and the instructor had assistants to help with getting people more paint and helping people when they struggled with certain parts. Here the person teaching the class had to do it all by herself. They didn't even have ice for the wine bucket. Will go back to the other business next time. read more

This was an excellent date night for my wife and me. We ended up having the entire lesson to ourselves, and our instructor (John Paul) was an excellent conversationalist. He was kind to us and helped point out techniques that would correct our flaws without coming across as overly critical. We always had something to talk about, and he picked a good playlist for us to listen too (music that was older than he was). I would recommend this to anyone who wants and easy afternoon or evening while getting a nice souvenir. read more

This was a great experience, the teacher did an amazing job and even made beginners feel like experts. The quality of the material, and the total experience completely blew me away. Painting with a Twist was a great experience for me. I never knew I could actually paint a drawing. I was so surprised with my painting at the end. The art teachers give you so many great tips on where to began to create your painting and how to work with colors. The theme for us was painting your dog. I got so many compliments on it and I have it hanging on my hallway wall. I highly recommend it. You will enjoy it and have a great time. This place was so much fun! The teachers were really nice, helpful, and also funny. We brought a couple bottles of wine, and cups were provided. You can also deviate from the painting recommendations, if you care to be a little more free! I had actually left my phone there on Saturday, and Dimitri (the owner, maybe) came in on a holiday just to let me in and helped me look/find my phone. Our group of 3 did a night cityscape painting with Landis, who was really adept at breaking down a complex painting and made painting an easy and FUN process! We booked a Monday night, and there was only one other couple present, so it felt very much like a private lesson. Even though it was a longer 3-hour class in the evening, Landis patiently allowed all of the slower painters in our group to finish 30 minutes beyond the end time and was a joyful personality to talk to later as well. When we apologized for taking so much more out of her night, she commented that she doesn't want to rush anybody working on their masterpiece and truly hopes that it can be a special experience for all of us students -- definition of great attitude! Here's a pic of the entire class' cityscape painting. Keep in mind that it's almost everybody's first time ever painting and the subject was apparently more complex than typical. Came to this specific location last Saturday to do some painting with my cousin and her friends, I was visiting from San Antonio. This was my very first Painting with a Twist experience and it was definitely worth my time and money. The instructors were very awesome. Madonna and Landis were their names for reference! We started the class off with instructions on how to paint with each specific brush. It was very insightful and fun learning what each brush is used for. Next we received instructions for the game of name that tune; we each set out team names we were the Divas and I believe we ending up winning the competition. To say the very least the instructors were Fun, friendly and perfect for the painting we chose. They even helped us all take beautiful pictures of each group and our paintings! It's located in the kind of sketchier part of midtown, and the business had a sign on their door that's stated they don't open their doors until 30 mins before the class starts, so there were people waiting outside when we arrived. It took us a moment to figure out where we were supposed to be once inside. You sign in on at the front counter, there is a simple roster with people's name on it. And then, less obvious, there is a hand-drawn seating chart underneath the roster. We had two instructors, one was new and she was sweet. The other one was meh, kind of a buzz kill. He had just said to ask him if we needed more paint, so I raised my hand & said I needed more, and then he told me I need to hold on & said something in an oppressing tone, and then never got me more paint...So he didn't follow up with me. Despite the buzz kill instructor, my friends & I still had a good time with the whole painting and wine experience. read more

I enjoyed not only the painting but the relaxed and fun atmosphere that this instructor created. I liked the fact that the painting was not overly complicated and could drink, eat and interact with the girls I came with.
