I've been wanting to Paint with a Twist since I first heard about it years ago--and it was everything I had hoped it would be: challenging enough to push us but still engaging the creative muscles we don't always get to use. Our instructor, Alissa, was patient and encouraging with all levels of abilities. I only wish we could've honored the 2-hour time frame by starting on time, as the many, lengthy reminders indicated. I've gone to PWAT in Mansfield twice, years apart, but they were both amazing experiences. Sam and Ashley are such sweet instructors and they are both so helpful throughout their class. Sometimes instructions felt fast, but time was given to catch up. Trust the process. The art may not end up exactly like the reference picture, but it'll still end up wonderful and it's your own. They even have a very attenuated candle making activity that you can do right before the painting class for $20. It's such a fun event to do to destress or just have something to do with friends. GREAT experience with friends, or family. We had a party of 10 people. Byob. They have cups if needed. I also provided myself my own bottle opener cause I wasn't sure... Show up at lease 15mins before start time. They REALLY start exactly on time, so if you have a party and need to get everyone settled it great to just play it easy with the time. Fun and great experience and teaching. I'm not a artist or anything at all, but this was fun & I still enjoyed all the colors and laughs we had making this art piece. We painted the bluebonnets. I love painting with a twist!!! This location is great. I have taken two classes now and the teachers are awesome. I painted my dog who crossed the rainbow bridge and I was an emotional wreck the whole time. Abby was so sweet and she helped make my painting perfect. I signed up for the "Paint Your Pet" class with my mother. We went this past Sunday. It was a smaller crowd, at the front of the building so there was great lighting from the windows. We forgot our wine, so learn from our mistake and bring your own! My only concerns were 1. They did address this as a more advanced class and this was my first experience with Painting with a Twist. I'm not sure if this translates to the instructor being more hands-off or if it means some painting skill is required, but I felt quite lost and behind at times. We made the instructor aware of our novice status but I don't think we got any special treatment for it (lol). I think it would be great to explain, even for the usuals, at the beginning what each step will be in the class. I was under the impression that my strokes could be a little messy or the color can be a little off because we would return to it at a later step to rectify everything. I ended up painting harsh shadows on my pup :-(. They do offer Saturday classes for free to go back in and continue working on your art. 2. The TV that zoomed in on the instructor's demonstrations kept turning off (motion detected?). Overall, I left with a portrait of my favorite companion, harsh brush strokes and all! read more

Had the best time celebrating a girlfriends birthday. Sam was so fun and enthusiastic but also super patient! She explained everything thoroughly and made sure we were all having a good time. I went with a group last weekend, and we had a great time. I wasn't crazy about the painting that was scheduled that weekend, but I have to say mine came out far better than I expected. The instructor was helpful and fun, and she made sure to get us up out of our seats periodically (mostly to look at everyone else's paintings, so we'd feel better about our own efforts). read more

We planned my moms 68th birthday here, the owner Kim called to cancel/reschedule due to the weather. Not only did she cancel the party the day of 4 hours prior to our scheduled time she also charged me a 10% cancellation fee. Why charge me a cancel fee when your establishment is closed??? I did not want to reschedule because again my moms birthday is TODAY not next week. If the establishment needs to close or reschedule they should reimburse the whole deposit. Now I'm left with no party and out of 10% because of Kim. Bad business! Business owners should want 100% customer satisfaction but Kim wants to be difficult for a small 10% fee. Smh!!! I've frequented PWAT before, but never at this particular location. I coordinated an event with the staff here with my sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. with proceeds benefitting the March for Babies. Coordination was pretty simple, and I was given a link to check on the progress of our RSVP's which was very helpful to ensure that we had a good turnout. On the day of the event, the staff welcomed us warmly and were prompt about starting. Ms. Coco was a joy to work with and she met the needs of our group who are a bit outspoken and chatty. Overall, our event was a great success and we are grateful that PWAT was willing to donate to our cause. Thanks! We will most definitely be back! read more

I gave it a "middle-of-the-road" review because the first time I went, it was fun, the 2nd time... not so much. They are non-judgmental about your work, but if they offer assistance it probably means your painting looks rough. If perfection is your goal, take an art class or 20. This is not a place to judge anyone's art work, nor try to make an exact replica. The second time I went, it was a "The Office" paint and trivia night. We got started late because the "teacher" complained for 20 minutes about arthritis, and not having alcohol and asking the group for some. One person happily obliged. About 20 minutes into instruction, the person across the table spilled their cup of water. Lucky for me the aprons provided are pretty thick! I didn't yell or scream, but my friend and I started cleaning it up. The people across the table didn't even act like anything happened. My friend asked the teacher to stop. The teacher replied, "No, you have to keep up with me, and I have to go fast because we're running late". So at this point my friend completely "shut down" and decided to not even finish the painting she paid $47 for. The Teacher kept telling "jokes" and mainly focused the fun toward one group of about 6 people. Overall, I'd say that when you go, set your expectations to "medium". That way the disappointment isn't too bad if it happens. In like turn, if you get the right instructor, you may have a lot of fun. read more

Paintings with a Twist is fantastic! It really is great for all ages. I had Jan as the instructor she was hilarious. Our entire WWP group stayed entertained the entire night.
