They were fun, friendly, open to questions, and gave advice when any of us needed help with our painting. Totally suggest Painting With A Twist for a friends night out, date night, or even a solo night out. They offer so many different artwork options (that you can choose from when you book) at a decent price! They are BYO wine and beer.

My 9 year old niece had her first art class here on Saturday. Because of our circumstances I had to…read morestay the two hours for the class. Although I stayed in the back I eavesdropped often to see how my niece was doing. Jocelynn is amazing with her young students. She engages with them in a way that they all seem to really enjoy; she jokes, she tells stories, she listens to them. In the middle of class she gives them a small break and does an art history lesson. I think it's wonderful that students get to see works of great artists. They talk about and discuss the work of the artist being discussed while eating a snack. She sells art supplies in her studio at a fraction of the price you'd get at the store, and she didn't push me to buy. As a matter of fact I really wanted to buy supplies and she told me to hold off until my niece was sure she wanted to stick with it and was comfortable. My niece had a good experience. Although she's an amazing self-taught artist Jocelynn taught her the correct way to use pencils and how that she should draw what she sees not what's in her head. There was a little bit of a back and forth with my niece insisting that she was doing it the right way but I'm telling you Jocelynn has the patience of Job. And I'm sure she's used to dealing with artists who are stuck in their ways (even if they are only 9 years old). But all in all she enjoyed the class. Jocelynn gave her individual attention (I don't know how but all of the students received one on one time with her). Watching and listening to Jocelynn and my niece in class confirmed that getting her into an art class is the right decision because it has to be easier to develop good habits as an artist now than later.

I've had the privilege of studying with Jocelynn for 4 years and have learned a great deal from her. She is an experienced oil artist and sculptor and uses her many talents to instruct students in a variety of mediums in every class. I began instruction with Jocelynn as an adult learner, kids out of the house, and my only experience was drawing with a No. 2 pencil. Jocelynn has taught me how to see, how to draw, to work with values, with dark and light. She has taught me color theory, and how to use it in a composition. I have learned to work in charcoal and chalk, oils, and pastel pencils. Jocelynn is very reasonably priced, making classes very accessible and enabling me to afford to take two and sometimes three two-hour class per week. My Studio LLC has been a real find for me! But far as what we expected far as the tables, we did not get what we asked for she told us she was gonna put the silverware on the plates and it would look very elegant because she ran out of time because she wasn't there on time. She just threw the gold silverware, and a bucket at the end of the buffet table, never put him on the plates. The tables were very plain. It was just a glass bowl with some flowers and the plates. And stuff we gave, or there was nothing to make it look elegant on top of that. She told me she would. She told my daughter-in-law she would be there at 9. If anybody wanted to bring stuff to leave it off, drop it off any vendors, they were welcome to come. Why drove all the way there? From pamira to drop them off, she was not there. I waited, she was not there. My daughter-in-law tried to call her 3 times she never answered. Then, finally, she texted my daughter-in-law and she told my daughter all right, well, you should have let me know you were coming. Excuse me, it should have been the other way around. We never asked her to come early. She suggested that she was gonna be there. And we could, and then she didn't show up and tried to make it like my daughter law's fault for going. They are at 9, when that's what she said to do on top of that. When I got there at 5, she was still decorating. She was on the floor doing balloons and putting tablecloths on when I walked in the door she just looked at me and said, what do you need at that point? I thought huh, I said nothing now. And I don't know, I just got here, never said, hi, I'm the party planner, is everything to your expectations. What never said any of that? And then she walked away. So I said to her, excuse me, hello, and then she came back out. I said, I need a table. Why only got one. Can you I said? That's fine, but I don't got a tablecloth. I said, that's okay, I brought some just in case this happens. And I brought a smaller table, then she left never said, anything else. I asked her. I said, is there a Back Door she said, yeah, you don't use that one, use this one. I'm looking at her. She's just pointing, I'm like, okay. She walked away again. Nothing was inviting. She was very rude, and I mean, rude, then she walked away. I went, and I just got the stuff, and started bringing in other vendors that came was bringing in stuff, she never told him it was a Back Door she kept letting them walk through the front, which I don't fault her for that. Because that's not really her problem. I guess but trust me, I've done plenty of parties at venues, and I've had party planners and everything. And the people that I have ever worked with were very professional, they asked me, did I like the everything that I liked the setup. Did I need them to change anything before they left? She did nothing, she could have cared less. The point with the silverware, if she ran at a time she could have just said, listen, i'm running out of time because she was still there.When the guest, we're still coming in the door at six i said, do you want me to still put the forks on a table or what she didn't? She throw him in a bucket at the end of the food table and walked out, took her couple pictures and left. She had no hospitality at all. I don't know how people or hearsay said that she knows how to greet people. She's very good with with communication. She's good when it came to communication about her money, but other than that. Her communication skills, her people person skills are horrible. She's very rude and does not greet anyone with kindness you feel why am I here like I'm standing here? Looking at someone that's looking at me like I'm crazy or something. I felt so uncomfortable when I first came in there and we paid a lot of money.It was terrible and again, i've grown.Many parties and many events.And i've had great party planners and had beautiful events.So hers was not that great.It was it was great for my my granddaughter, because it was her sweet, 16, and we made it work. And the little things she never knew about, but I let you know, if you're looking for a person with hospitality, don't rent that venue, and I'm just giving a true review. It's not about money or anything. It's about the greeting, and if you can't finish something you let people know. If they still want it, you don't just assume and throw it in a bucket. After we spent so much money on silverware, we could have put it down ourselves if she'd have just said, so if she felt uncomfortable because the guests were coming. But again, her hospitality was horrible. The reviews weren't here were hers saying people saying she's very sweet and she comes to people and she's there, I guess there are family because that was not the case she never presented herself as the owner or anything. Oh just having a beer while the kids played on repurposed tires and listening to live music in Woodbury's own pop-up park behind a slightly ghetto liquor store off of Route 45. The back of said building was recently covered with a colorful graffiti style mural by artist Will Kasso, and that's just the beginning. So I guess what happened was that the FAF decided what we all needed this summer was a place in town to hang out with friends and family in a cool, fun & free art space? And they were right! Volunteers must have worked really hard to create this whimsical space that boasts an outdoor stage, play areas plus games like a massive chess set, bowling lanes and more. The journey is documented on their Facebook page. In the past, we've attended amazing fall arts festivals thrown by this group and marveled at the energy and spirit that apparently still thrive in a town known more for its decline. The FAF has totally outdone themselves with 2016's Lot 323. It will be open every day in July & August for people to just come and chill out. Friday evenings from 6:30-9:30 there are free concerts and a beer stand, vendors and craft tables. At any rate, you can check it out online.
