What a cute place for date night. Honey and I were celebrating our anni and he surprised me with coming here! Our instructor was Anne she was the kindest patient person ever for us beginners. The music was a vibe. They also have a nice drink selection you can make purchases from. We were told they host parties , kids classes and more. Check them out ! Such a hidden gem!

She had plenty of tips to help us achieve our goals, while also allowing us the freedom to explore our own ideas.

Came here with a few friends as part of a birthday celebration. We were the only ones in this session, so it was like having a private event Apparently, we picked a hard one to paint as first timers. The instructor walked us through each phase of the painting, but I wished she walked around more to give us pointers vs just relying on us to ask questions. She was very nice though. One of our friends couldn't make it last minute, and she offered the painting she did for our friend. There was a good selection of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). There was a kid birthday party happening in the next room. Our event was for 21+, but they have events for all ages too, so my friend and I plan on coming back with our daughters to do a mommy and me painting event.

Everyone of my classmates were very supportive of each other along with a great instructor Miche and Ruth! Enjoy painting with my fiancé. Attended a class at this location to celebrate my dear friend's birthday. The location of this place is very easy to locate and parking is plentiful. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Newt and Miche. The studio is very inspiring with wonderful paintings from past classes all around to stir up your creativity. Each spot already had the canvases and aprons set up along with paint, brushes, and all of the mixing tools you will need to use during your session. Newt was so great at teaching the class and made everyone feel safe to embrace their creativity with no judgement. The session was 2 hours long and it was a blast. Newt and Miche were very helpful by giving us tips on how to fix or enhance certain steps and were responsive to needs for more paint or any additional tools. All in all, it was a fun and relaxing time. Our group looked forward to booking our next session. Would definitely recommend and will be back! read more

Fun date/hangout activity!! Last minute decided to join the class, and I am so glad I did. The instructor, Syd, led the class. She patiently set up the materials for the last minute attendees. I like how she positively set the tone for the class to be fun and relaxed. I appreciate how Syd communicated in the beginning of class several options if the attendees aren't satisfied with their paintings- this allowed me to feel at ease with my performance! The music playlist Syd had in the background helped create a fun ambiance. Syd was very accommodating to the groups' needs. I would take another class with her and highly recommend this class to others! I was catching up with a friend and I did partake in side talking. I would suggest that the instructions and time limits are stated in the beginning of class and reinforced/reannounced after each activity to keep the class on track! I am giving this location a five star review simply because of our instructor Newt. This is my third time attending with my little niece in the past 2-3 years. Newt was the first instructor who actually was more involved with the participants versus the previous instructor just standing up there talking nonstop (half the time about themselves). Also, this was a class for all ages, so it was very family-friendly versus the two classes that I attended with my young niece in the previous years that were supposed to be "all ages", but were not very family friendly due to the nonstop chatter of inappropriate topics from the previous instructor. The music Newt played was fun and appropriate. The class went by fast. The end product was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful time. It's nice to be able to do family-friendly fun activities indoors on a very hot summer day. read more

I'm a neurotic perfectionist so I'm not entirely sure why I sign up for these BUT overall had a good time at this location. I struggled a bit with this painting due to the music being a bit louder than the instructor, and the instructor going multiple steps faster than the group (yes I know they usually are one step ahead, but this seemed like multiple). Thankfully Gino was there to help out and really helped me with tips, techniques, telling me what to do next, and offering encouragement the entire class. Overall I would go again! read more

Painting is such romantic vibes , especially if you are experiencing it in a laid back yet fun environment . Painting with a Twist made my date night more than wonderful . Sydonia was our instructor for the evening , and may I say she was EVERYTHING ! From her outgoing vibrant energy , thorough instructions and helpfulness, she was an amazing presence to be around & learn from . She made me feel so comfortable and confident in exploring my creative side without being so stiff. If you love sipping a little wine while opening that creative box , they offer many wine selections at their bar. The music is a mixture from old school to new school. Our Running Dog team from Contra Costa Animal Services did a Fundraiser here. This was such a fun experience. I swore I would never do a paint night- I'm not artistic at all... but when it was for our team, I couldn't say no. The staff was so welcoming- the 2 hours flew by. They were very helpful and encouraging. Our whole team had a great time. I even went back a few days later to thank them personally for such a fun night, as well as a profitable fundraiser. I ended up booking another fundraiser here for a paint your pet night. If you are looking for a fun fundraiser- look no further. This is the place. We really enjoyed our class, we loved the diversity of painters of all ages and skill levels, there were friend groups, couples and families. We had so much fun! The vibe was chill, the music was cool, and the Huckleberry drinks were good. Shout out to Anna for being such a great instructor! Went here for a family day on 5-27-2023, and Holly was a great instructor. She explained everything very well and even helped my son out with his painting alittle. She made sure everyone was doing good, so an all around good experience with her. The hour an a half flew by like nothing, I give her a 10/10. All of us had a great time. I appreciate this place being more of a class setting than those one-time activities for date night or to hang with friends, because ceramics takes awhile to get a good handle on. Plus there is a process of the bisque and glaze fire which cannot be done in a day. My recommendation is to take the 8-week class and show up to every class. It's adjacent to Larkey Park, so if the shared parking lots get full, you'll find plenty of free street parking. The pool itself is divided into several section - beginners (3.5 to 4.5 feet max depth), diving, and for lap swimming. They have lifeguards everywhere and they do a fine job of maintaining order. The water temperature was perfect. Our 5yo son seems to have a natural inkling for water but he enjoyed the pool far more than the splash pad, which is also popular with young kids. I tried carrying him up on the water slide but he refused. Note: for taller folks, they have a pretty intense water spray on top of the slide that can blind you. Imagine max shower pressure right on your face, LOL! Other amenities are large locker and changing rooms with clean showers, small picnic areas for sun tanning or relaxing, and plenty of benches and tables to store your bags or snacks. They also have a vending machine for cold drinks. Definitely plan on returning when the pool opens up again (9/27/25 was the last day for the summer). A definite bargain at just over $20 for a family of three.

First let me say that this trail is far from uniform from one part to another. The northern portion…read morenear Concord COULD be scenic if all the encampments and trash was cleared out. This portion, miles 0-4, was recently repaved However there are no restrooms along this section. Miles 4-8 can be very congested with people walking dogs and pushing strollers. Even sections with "pedestrian only access" are largely unused and the multi purpose trail has most of the traffic. Miles 8-14 are not very scenic. Mostly backyards. Lots of cross streets making cycling less enjoyable. Miles 14-20 are more backyards and several more cross streets. There are a few narrow bridges over small creeks. Miles 20-24 are fairly industrial. The trail is much cleaner and better patrolled from Walnut Creek south. North is a totally different story. One park employee told me he thought I was brave to ride on that section of the trail. Not a place for families for sure.

The entire trail measures roughly 32 miles one way and stretches from Concord all the way to Pleasanton. I've only been on the Concord/Pleasant Hill/Walnut Creek side, but my dream has always been to traverse the entire trail in increments over time. The trail is a flat paved path that will take you through a plethora of parks, connecting trails, under freeway overpasses, and through a few tunnels. There is always greenery on the trail, no matter what season it is. It's not particularly challenging and there aren't any inclines, but it's perfect for a casual stroll or a long distance run. At any given time, you'll witness people walking their dogs and pushing strollers. Many people train for marathons and long distance running here. It's a wonderful family friendly and community driven trail that feels very safe. What I enjoy most about traversing this trail are the stunning views that I'm graced with every single time that I'm here. This trail has truly exposed me to the beauty of Contra Cost County. So many gorgeous wild flowers and lush vegetation. An ample amount of rampant wildlife. The most beautiful and peaceful community parks. Entrancing Views of the nearby communities. You will get to experience all of this along the Iron Horse Trail. People are so friendly on this trail. You tell get a sense of community here. There are also many bikers that use this trail too. There are several rest benches and doggie pooh pickup stations. You always see a trash can nearby to encourage cleanliness. There are mile markers on the main trail, and a second path that also runs parallel to the main path for most of the duration. It's a great place to clear your mind and to breathe in the fresh local air. Walking down this trail has gotten me through some tough times in the past, and it's filled with so many memories. So grateful to have this local gem practically in my backyard.

I've been to two Painting with a Twist events now, and I've had a great time at both. Each time, I went solo, and I had a blast laughing and painting with the other attendees. The instructors are all really friendly and patient, and they make sure that everyone is able to create a beautiful painting, even if they've never painted before. The first time I went, I painted a coastal scene. The instructor, Anna, was really helpful in guiding me through the steps, and I was amazed at how great my painting turned out. I had no idea that I could create something so beautiful! The second time I went, I painted a vase of flowers. This was a little more challenging, but Anna was still there to help me every step of the way. I was really happy with the way my painting turned out, and I was even more impressed with how easy it was to create. I would definitely recommend Painting with a Twist to anyone who wants to try their hand at painting. It's a lot of fun, and it's a great way to relax and de-stress. It's definetly fun at Painting wth a Twist #PWAT. This was my first time painting at this studio and the instructor, Ileana, was a Blast! I think the instructors energy and spirit sets the tone for the entire experience, and Ileana has plenty of both! I'm rating this 4 star because, IMHO, this really could have been a 3 hour session rather than 2. I felt a bit rushed at the end to finish my painting. Overall, a great experience. I had fun although the artist leading and fellow colleagues weren't helpful and extremely loud and annoying. Some had projects going on in a separate room going in and out interrupting the painters. I went on 3/10/2022 and the project was to paint a picture of your own pet. Will I go back? Maybe, but only in a group setting with people I know and if the art is something I really want to paint.
