When looking for an excursion for our cruise port day in Ensenada, Pai Pai stood out and far exceeded our expectations. The package available for cruise travelers includes a super easy round trip shuttle and most of the impressive experiences within the sanctuary. It was seriously a perfect day on shore. After the ~30 minute or so drive to Pai Pai, my wife and I were met by staff eager and excited to show us the facilities. A short tour guides you to navigating the expansive sanctuary, and keeps you posted on all of the activities that are timed. We wound up paying a bit extra for a few of the attractions that were not included in the original package, but the price of the whole experience and the extras were reasonable. Highlights of the experience included interacting with a 1.5 month old jaguar baby (a lifelong core memory) and the chance to feed and engage the playful lemurs. If you like animals and animal conservation, this place literally has it all. Additionally, their buffet style restaurant with made to order barbacoa tacos and omelets was relaxing, modern, and tasty. Add in the Pueblo Bonito tequila tasting included (some of the best tasting tequila and tequila liquors I've ever had--we brought 3 bottles back to the ship) and you have an incredibly memorable and meaningful experience. I must also shoutout our driver Fernando for making us comfortable and quickly taking us to and from the ship. In addition, I also want to acknowledge our incredible tour guide Max. Max went out of his way throughout our entire stay to make sure we got the most out of our time and were enjoying the full experience. PaiPai Ensenada - Naab the baby jaguar! - Zoos Near Me - Maneadero, BCN

So this place disguises itself as a sanctuary for animals. Don't be fooled it's a money grab. If anything I'd call it a glorified zoo. So, my family and friends came here on the carnival cruise as an excursion. It's a money grab. First interaction. They show you all the options for animal interactions you can do. My group decided to split up because we all wanted to see different things. Me and 2 friends decided to do the "cuddle buddies" ($100). The rest decided to do the capybaras ($50). We pay. This was the mistake we made. We were told AFTER we had already paid that once we get a tour we can choose more interactions. But we were not told this BEFORE. This is important. The tour was quick. They basically walked us around to just show us where things were. Spent the most time showing us the tequila bar. But we barely got any info on the animals. When you walk in & they show you the interactions. They don't tell you, you can split it up. They only show you packages. Maybe it was foolish on us for not asking. But we had no idea what we would see until we came in. The (cuddle buddies) was advertised as 5 different cubs we could see. We saw, 1 cub which you'll see in the photos below. The one baby cub was barely walking. Fresh out the womb at only 2 months and we couldn't even hold him. Two of the cubs were basically in their teen years that you couldn't interact with them at all!! They were so hyper and jumpy they would bite you can you could get any real photos. The one "cub" was the size of a pitbull and we were yelled at if we turned our backs to her! That's actually dangerous. To call it "cuddle buddies" is a reach. It's literally false advertisement in the highest form. $100 for 15 mins to stare at animals that could literally tear your face off is dangerous. Not to mention that we got no good photos. The person who helped us spoke zero English. The whole experience was neither pleasant nor educational. A total rip off. Two of my sisters along with my nieces ended up paying $20 to see one of the "cubs" and they jumped all over them. My nieces left crying. They're 8. The "cub" was way too energetic they couldn't even have a good time. The capybaras I would say are a bit more worth it? $50 to feed them and interact with them. That's a good deal IMO. Considering you really can't see them anywhere else besides Japan, I believe? I could be wrong. But the kids loved it and it was very safe. Overall the animals you can see are nice to look at. But make sure you ask every question on the planet and be for sure. Ask to see alll the available animals to interact with first before you pay. Fun fun fun just 35 mins south from Central Downtown Ensenada. This place is great for families as they have a full on petting zoo featuring exotic and non exotic animals you can see up close and personal. They also feature extreme activities sup as zip lining and zip biking and rock climbing. Recently they opened a new area in the park called Capybara Encounter where they feature these cute creatures and can get to pet them. You can either experience the full zoo or this encounter separately and prices vary. There is a pretty decent food restaurant on site that serves typical Mexican and American fare at a decent price. Definitely must stop spot when in Ensenada for the weekend or stopping in on a cruise as an excursion. read more

Want to be in the same cage as a prowling jaguar? It's possible here in Ensenada, Mexico. We hired a driver for the day as our shore excursion was cancelled by our cruise ship. Hubs paid entrance for 6 of us and extra for the two kiddies and their mom to go into 3 cages for an additional fee. Cringe!!! They got to pet the jaguar, after they entered its cage, fed raw meat to a lion with forceps and feed some kind of monkey like creature. As a measure you must sign waivers to do this. We saw a one month old white lion cub, creatures unlike any we've seen in China, Australia, Maryland, San Diego, Panaewa or Honolulu Zoo. Doc does not like to see animals in captivity so we usually stay clear from zoos when we travel. Once in a lifetime experience for the kiddies. We stopped by PaiPai on the way back from La Bufadora. I kind of reminded me of the adventure parks in Central America, but on a much smaller scale. They have a host of different wildlife, which they say are all rescues. The pricing and packages were a bit confusing. There's a basic package which gives you entry and then you can add things a la cart like close encounters, zip lining, or you can get packages that includes multiple items. It ranged from $35 to $85 per person. The facility overall is new and well organized. They have scheduled activities throughout the day like a surprise animal reveal and there is a farm animal area where you can interact with sheep, bunnies, etc. We ended up doing the encounters with the baby jaguars, the snakes, capybara and a giraffe feeding. There's also a restaurant, two cafes and a bar. The admission also included a tequila tasting. One of the negatives is that there is a 15% surcharge if you pay with a card, which is a bit inconvenient, so bring cash. You can definitely do a full day here. We spent about 3-4 hours, so we plan on returning to get the full experience. read more

After docking on Port with the Royal Carribean cruise, my family took a transport vehicle(Tripadvisor) to Pai Pai, which was approximately 30 mins away. There's was so much to see and lots of opportunities to pet many animals with an additional charge. You get to explore the whole park with minimal supervision which was nice, but definitely be cautious as many animals can be unpredictable. When we were on the rooftop, you can have a very close encounter with the ostriches and giraffe. As much as I wanted to pet the ostriches, there wasn't any one around to say whether it was safe to do so or not so I stood back and plus, I was wearing my baby. I paid my ticket in cash so my family had the opportunity to pet and feed a Kangaroo. For Mexico, it was pricey, but my baby loved all the interactions so it was justifiable in my case. You definitely get a more intimate experience with the animals unlike you do at other Zoos. The staff is very laid back and doesn't honor the timeslots that much, but thre's plenty of staff walking around so just flag someone down and they will help you. They also don't really care about what you do, but if you ask someone for help, they were really friendly. When we were waiting for the time slot to pet the special animal, the staff was late and we were all just standing there. There was a wooden box, sitting on the table unattended and everyone was checking it out, but couldn't see anything. We did kid about the animal being inside the box and we were right. One of the guides finally came, opened the box and there was a hedgehog. Considering the size of Pai Pai, there was actually so much to see. It was great for us, and great for the kids, especially my baby. He loved chasing the baby tiger and panther back and forth, with a window in between of course. He also had the opportunity to pet goats, bunnies, a hedgehog, and kangaroos. But also due to the size of the park, I was surprised at the amount of tigers as well as other animals they had. For some of the smaller animals, there's an ample of space, but for the larger mammals, the enclosures were a bit too small in my opinion. read more

This zoo experience was the holy grail of all bucket lists! 100 stars!! The staff were polite and respectful. Each animal was treated with love and care by their keepers. The animals appeared well fed and nourished, which was important to me. I was able to interact with soooo many different animals! My favorite was being able to play with the jaguars, snuggle the baby lions, and bottle feed a 5 month old tiger. It was a dream come true!! We visited Pai Pai Ecotourism Park on Saturday with my parents. Unfortunately, my dad accidentally set his wallet down for just a moment, and when he realized it, it was already gone. There were not many people at the park that day, so my parents reported it to the staff right away. The workers said they would review the security cameras, but later told us they could not see any footage showing someone taking the wallet. I can't point fingers at anyone because we truly do not know what happened. There were both local workers and American families walking around that day. It was just very unfortunate that nobody saw anything and no wallet was ever turned in. Despite this experience, I would still return to support and see the animals at Pai Pai. My advice to future visitors is to be extremely careful with your personal belongings and not leave anything unattended, even for a few seconds. Unfortunately, after this experience, I did not feel confident that lost items would be recovered. read more

Not really sure how I feel about this place really. All the good reviews brought us here. My here is my honest review. My family of 8 came off from a cruise. We decided not to book transportation ahead of time because everything online was ridiculously expensive. We were lucky enough to spot someone as we were walking out of the cruise terminal that offered a MUCH more reasonable price. He drove us there and waited for us until we were done. We purchased 7 Total experience ticket and one basic entrance ticket for my dad who was in a wheelchair. My daughter who was under 130cm was given a discount. In total, I paid $668 for the tickets alone. The facility itself is wheelchair accessible if you just want to go around looking at the animals from afar, but the individual personal encounters are very enclosed and did not have enough room for us to wheel him in (he did get to go in to the guinea pigs and petting zoo location). Their package options were confusing, and different in person, vs. online on their website, vs packages offered by tour groups online. So for the total experience package, it got us into the feline enclosure (just to look around), a personal encounter with a ?leopard, personal encounter with guinea pigs, personal encounter with turtles, personal encounter with monkeys, personal encounter with racoons, personal time in a petting zoo, personal feedings of their birds, and a show with other audiences that showcased a python and a hedgehog (we missed that last one, but I'm thinking better planning from our guide would have allowed us to catch the show as well). I paid $6 extra a person to feed the giraffes, and $12 per person to have personal encounter with the lemurs. Feeding hippos were $12 and a personal encounter with a baby tiger?/?leopard was $35 per person, as well as capybaras (not sure of the price) -the latter three we did not do. Our total experience ticket also allowed us to do the ziplining, which was longer than expected. Was it a good experience??? I'm not really sure. We felt lost most of the time...then rushed out of each encounter. We had a "guide" but he would disappear often and when we came out of an encounter, we didn't know where to go next as he wasn't around. He gave us a quick tour around the facility in the beginning but spoke so fast and walked so fast that he was always ahead of us. Most of us couldn't really hear him. He only bothered to learn one person's name and didn't take into account that we had elderly and children in the group. He didn't really tell us anything about the facility or the animals. The animal keepers who helped us during the encounter didn't say much either, likely because their English was limited, which is understandable. It was a confusing and hurried visit. With no explanation of how things really work, it's hard NOT to assume the worst for these wild animals who are trapped in these little boxes of an enclosure, just there to entertain paying guests. The raccoons were so sick of the apples being fed to them that they barely wanted the ones that my family of 7 was offering. My children and I particularly felt it when we visited the leopard. It was not drugged but was just walking around us in it's little box, looking very disinterested, and so ready to escape. When I bought this up to my guide, he said, "well, if you can imagine being around so many guests daily...", and in my mind I'm thinking..."duh, that's the point". If you decide to pay for the extra activities, please be sure to use cash, because with credit cards, they charge an extra crazy 15%! Ridiculous. Also, just your change, because the cashier shorted me almost $10 with my change. We spent close to 3 hours there. A big chunk was walking around, looking/waiting for our guide. Another chunk with the ziplining. We came out of it with no knowledge of what the facility stands for or represents, or what they are striving to preserve. Just another "park" trying to financially benefit from these poor animals. For the amount of money we paid, better guidance, organization, and narration of the facility, with attention to your particular guests on hand (i.e. kids, elderly) would have made the visit more worthwhile. The facility itself is simple and to some extent, sad (for the wild animals). Without any explanation of how operations are like, I can only assume the worst with what I have seen...and honestly, will not be visiting or recommending this place to my friends/family. read more

I went in November to celebrate my wife's birthday and we're definitely coming back. I don't mind spending my money here. Purchase: I bought a package online, which was actually a reservation which I didn't mind because I was going to pay for it when I arrived. They sent me a What's App message asking for a confirmation number and I gave it to them. Once we arrived I paid in cash (MXN not USD) which helped not being charged the 15% surcharge. Because of the package I got, I was able to choose one out of three extra exhibits for free! Arrival: Once you pay, they will ask if you want an English or Spanish tour guide. For me, because I was not part of a cruise my tour guide just showed us the basics of how to get around. I did see other tour guides walking around with people who came from the cruises. At first, I requested an English tour but then a Spanish tour guide came and took a group so we went with them. I believe they only have one or two English speaking (maybe more but I'm not sure?) tour guides so if you request someone who speaks English just know you're going to wait. Exhibits/Overall Time Spent: We paid extra for the Capybara. Again it was wife's birthday and she loves them. We only spent around 5 minutes with them. We fed them, petted them and took pictures. That was the same for all the exhibits where you actually interacted with the animals. I saw that people complained about the time limit but I didn't mind at all. They way i saw it was for the animals well-being, but also the people who work there. In November, there wasn't a lot of people but I can only imagine during the summer time when there's boat loads of people (pun intended). Can you imagine all those hands and peoples faces in your little animal face? Plus the workers having to deal with people and waiting in line, getting extra food for when they run out etc. This isn't the San Diego zoo with all their manpower. So you have five minutes and then move on. I planned out my exhibits pretty good. Which also included zip lining. At one point, we were asked to come back at one exhibit because the cruise people were inside it and I think they're on a time crunch. Again, didn't mind it and went to another exhibit which was the raccoons, my favorite animal. Smell: There's some people on here complaining about it and it's hard not to roll my eyes. You're surrounded by animals who pee, poop, drool, fart, give birth, get wet, smell damp, etc. You. Are. Going. To. Smell. It. The good thing it's not that strong. you don't smell of it and you don't smell it when you're eating. I can't believe I have to say this for an ANIMAL PARK but beware, it smells. Restaurant: I didn't eat there but bought waters and yes, the 15% surcharge did apply to it. Oh, I forgot to mention, my package (not sure for others) had a free tequila sample at the end of our day. We don't drink so not sure how it tastes. I believe that's all I have to say. Wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting dirty, dress appropriately and use common sense. That last part almost slipped my mind during the baby jaguar exhibit lol. He was laying on his back, head towards me and feet going the opposite way. He was very playful and I reached over to rub his belly and immediately pulled away. We stopped at Pai Pai while visiting Ensenada. The entry grounds are absolutely beautiful. You can tell they put a lot of work into making this place a legitimate tourist attraction. The staff at Pai Pai told me that they are an animal conservation center taking in animals from all over Mexico and beyond. They have a wide variety of animals on location including Lemurs, Monkeys, a Jaguar, raccoons, Tigers and more. Before entering the doors, we were welcomed to Pai Pai by a Crocodile. I had to stand there for a minute to make sure it was real because it just sat there motionless with its mouth opened. After walking in the doors, we were greeted by a couple of friendly staff members. They gave us a short tour of what we would see on their monitors, then walked us through all we would get for the price. We were shocked when they told us the starting cost was $70 U.S. Dollars per person. Our group of 4 would've cost us $280 USD and that price was not all-inclusive to everything you can see and do in the park. Ultimately, we thanked them and told them we had to pass. I understand they need to feed, house, care for animals, pay staff and care for the grounds, but the entry cost is equivalent to the tickets at the San Diego Zoo, which is 60x larger with over 4,000 animals. So I just couldn't justify the cost to stay. Overall, I thought the entry grounds were fantastic, the staff was welcoming and we enjoyed seeing the crocodile, but I cannot give a proper review on the rest of the conservatory since we opted out due to the high price tag to enter. read more

Beware: you can be paying thousands of dollars in rabies shots! These people were rude and condescending, treating our family like idiot tourists. They have a very strict program and lead you through the park and they all contradict each other, "You need to go here!" "No, you need to do this first, second, third!" "You need to do this activity at 10:40!" (Even though the sign says 10:20) etc etc etc it went on and on like that. So awkward, so rude, so stressful! Of course seeing those animals up close and feeding them is neat and not something we can really do in the US, but it is NOT WORTH the money and it's really NOT WORTH the THOUSANDS of dollars we're now spending in RABIES shots!! The monkeys bit my husband's ears all over and he was bleeding everywhere. The staff didn't care, didn't apologize, didn't do anything! AVOID this place at all costs. It is a tourist trap scam. They charge you a fortune to see depressed, agitated animals in tiny cages and talk to you like you're an idiot. And you'll be paying for it long afterward! Came here on a Royal Caribbean cruise and bought the cruise package because it came with a shuttle to and from the park, it was around $95 (USD) per ticket which wasn't bad at all for what we got. The package came with several activities including feeding a giraffe, hanging out with the lemurs (my favorite), feeding these big ass tigers some raw chicken through a cage, meeting and getting to interact with some mystery animals (we got an albino porcupine and a duck but I think it's different every time), and other activities. All of the activities were fun overall and I had a good experience, I think the more fun activities were hanging out with the lemurs and also meeting this raccoon who you can feed, I'd recommend this place if you like zoos and/or exotic animals. read more

We stopped here on our cruise because my son is obsessed with zoos. I thought, once in a lifetime opportunity to pet a jaguar & monkey & I assumed get pictures with them. We arrived and they charged us $100 a person to get in and pet 3 animals for a total of about 10 mins. If we wanted more or a monkey that's another package. They brought us in to the jaguar first.. They were biting all of us & couldn't even get a decent picture. They bit my toddlers leg and left a pretty deep bike mark on my cousin's arm ... I see why they have you sign the waiver !! We moved on to the baby lions... they were hissing and biting and scared and were rushed out. The baby tigers we got to feed for about 5 mins then told to exit. It smelt terrible. They ask you to go in each room and sit on the floor. The floor is dirty and gross. No way am I or my children sitting on the ground they need to organize this better and hopefully all of these animals have shots.. I felt played for my money! Due to time after we pet the animals are tour guide from the zoo said oh your driver is calling you guys you have to leave so we really didn't get to explore any of the rest of the zoo which irritated me more because no way did I pay all this money Almost $800 to spend 45 minutes? We had time! This is a tourist trap & way overpriced... it seemed like everything once you enter had additional fees! We went into another room and there was an even smaller jaguar. They charged $25 a person just to go sit with that animal for 5 mins. We paid the extra because that one was actually calm so my son's could actually take a photo. Tried to visit this place while visiting Ensenada off of a ship, we were told it was $65 per person for a ticket to pai pai that included petting the animals. When we arrived to pai pai which was a 20 min ride, we were not allowed into the park because pai pai said we had not paid for a ticket (that we each spent $65 on). We each spent $65 each for a ride to pai pai & not an actual ticket. This is one of the scams they run on tourists at the booths near downtown by the McDonald's & street shopping. Also pai pai has raised the rates by customer. Every customer pays a different price. They had baby tiger cubs to pet where they advertised 3, when you get there they only have one to pet for $100. read more

I emailed the business after my pets were mistreated at their facility, but no one even bothered to reply or apologize. They claim to be in the business of animal care, yet they didn't show any care for my pets. On top of that, I paid 580 pesos for the service. Here is the thing...this is a long one...go to the next review if easily offended. To me all zoos are the same...they are not in their natural habitat and are interacting with people. So for all those coming down here complaining don't start going down that high horse path if you have been to a US ZOO, Seaworld, or have a bird in a cage at home for that matter. My observations. There's tons of construction. They are actively working on making bigger habitats. Also, for what little you pay here it's obvious greed and profit isn't the goal if they are still building. Just simple math there. Now for my experience vs those of others. You are interacting with wild animals...you cannot control them. They have bad days. If they bite you, I'd say that's part of the experience because you knowingly walked into a damn room with a wild animal so stop complaining. Or if an animal isn't available because they have been having an off day...maybe just accept that! The staff will try to find something just as awesome for you to interact with. This is no different in the states with orgs that rescue wild animals. They usually bring a few extra and warn you that they have emotional days like we do too. Prime example: The Makaws are straight thugs...they will gang up on you. You have been warned! This picture I posted does not give you the whole story..we are laughing in nervousness and ready to bolt for the door. There's a 3rd bird on the ground trying to get my toes, the blue one was laughing and screaming...the green one is nodding its head which we originally though was playful but quickly learned it was all attitude like "oooooh no you did not come into my hood!" Either way awesome experience and funny memories! We would do it again! So go for yourself, think realistically, and please tip the staff...I tipped each 100-200 at the main interactions if they were nice and it MADE their day. We did the all inclusive, highly recommend allowing for at least 4 hours here and arrive early because it gets hot! Oh and stay away from the black llama in the barn lmao! Upon further reflection and not being completely caught up in the beauty of the experience driving through this area, PAi Pai constitutes animal cruelty. A lot of the animals exhibit psychotic behaviors and don't have enough space. I am pretty sure the Tiger King from netflix had better conditions for his animals. There is a black jaguar that has a 6 by 6 cell that circles around psychotically in there. It is ultimately a sad experience to see this although the staff is great and friendly. read more

Came to visit Pai Pai and was a great experience. They have plenty of big cats, Tigers, Lions, Jaguars, Pumas etc. If you want to be with a 6 month old Lion you can pay extra and take pictures/videos and be in the room with them. Even though the Lion is a baby it's still huge! You either get some liquor courage or just choose the baby cats they have. Paid $40 to be with the 4-5 week old which was good enough for me. Was there for roughly 20 mins and got plenty of footage. The park is not big compared to American Zoos but its still a mid size place. You can also get pictures with a hawk which is pretty cool. After purchasing your ticket they will give you a list of places that you're able to visit. It's well organized and would recommend for outsiders. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I saw one smaller sized crocodile in the enclosure. They also have a restaurant right next to them who had really good food and drinks. You can also drink inside the park, they sell beer and other drinks inside. I get some of the comments of the small space for the animals but you can't compare the sizes to the US. read more

If you are on a visit to Ensenada and have a chance to stop by here on your way to La Bufadora, i.e. the Blowhole, don't miss it! Playing with a baby jaguar and having it growl at me menacingly is probably one if the coolest things I've ever done. Pai Pai is a one of a kind rehabilitation center for sick big cat cubs, or for cubs that have been rejected by their mothers! It is a pretty small facility but well maintained, and everything looks clean and fairly new. You pay a small fee for a tour of the facility where you also have a meet and greet with some lemurs included.The fees go toward the care and rehabilitation of the animals as well as outreach and education programs. For another fee, you can meet the big cats! They have three different groups, ones that are 10 to 12 months old and are pretty big, 3 to 6 months old which are a bit smaller, and the tiniest of all, the cubs! Since we had a few kids in our group, we had to go with the cubs but they did not disappoint! Definitely the highlight of our trip. Five stars. read more

We had an amazing time here. It was beautiful, clean, and the animals and their enclosures were very well cared for. The animals were healthy and had bright eyes. We loved our guide Josue, and felt all of the staff were kind and knowledgeable. We loved playing with a baby jaguar, feeding the lemurs and raccoons and a very special treat was the "surprise " animal at the show. Totally recommend! read more

We went thus Tuesday, March 5th, and had one of the most amazing experiences every. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and it seemed they all spoke fantastic English. I know we are the guests, but my Spanish is awful, and having great communication is a huge treat. The band for your buck is incredible. We got the middle package, because it was our first time, and we didn't know what to expect, but now I probably would have sprung for the top tier package. The exhibits are very well kept, and beautifully designed. I can't recommend this enough. You will make memories that will last a life time. read more

I had the very great misfortune to visit this sham business on a port stop in Ensenada on a cruise ship tour. It was supposed to a tour to La Bufadora with stops for lunch and shopping. The stop at Pai Pai was a "bonus". Let's be very clear, this isn't a zoo. No legitimate zoo would ever let random strangers get anywhere near their infant animals. Tigers and lions are not native to Baja California, so where are they getting an endless supply of baby lions and tigers? It is also incredibly expensive and they charge and double charge for everything after the basic admission. This place puts the "trap" in Tourist Trap. read more

pai pai was recently very updated and remodeled. My family & I have been here before this last experience was so unpleasant. The staff is rude , unprofessional and VERY NOT UNDERSTAND. When running a establishment staff should always be helping to those who come to there place and they were all very immature on handling any situation . I'm not sure if it because they now have uniforms and have a new presentation of the place that thought it was okay to act like the were better they us . Fun petting zoo, definitely not cheaper then others near there but it was fun. They do get pretty push at the end when they want you to buy the tequila, honey, or chile salsa. I absolutely loved that they had so many baby animals. Didn't like that we couldn't take any pictures of the moneys. read more

I post these pictures with a heavy heart. On Tuesday, December 17, 2019, I disembarked the Carnival Cruise ship in Ensenada, Mexico. We decided to purchase the La Bufadora and Pai Pai "Eco-Tourism" excursion as I have always wanted to see big cats up close. We were all sold on the fact that we would be able to hold and play with baby tiger cubs. Our tour Guide Juanita painted a pretty picture for us. She told us this was an animal sanctuary where they rescue all kinds of animals from lemurs to lions, tigers, jaguars, pigs, and other farm animals. Upon entering, I quickly realized that this was not a sanctuary for animals. I watched a family of 5 pack into a tiny room with a Jaguar who was heavily drugged. There was absolutely no life in his eyes as I watched the staff try and irritate him for entertainment. The two workers were telling everyone that he pretends to be asleep. My sister decided not to go in, but my wife and I decided to go in to gather evidence. All of their tigers, lions, and jaguars live in tiny rooms with straw on the ground. They charge $50 extra to play with the two cubs in the room adjacent. I left Pai Pai in Ensenada with a broken heart. If you pay to visit this place, you're funding exotic animal abuse. Definitivamente un sitio encantador. Un espacio de unión familiar y diversión total. Viajamos con mis dos hijos edades 2 y 4 años y puedo decir q ellos quedaron enamorados de este sitio. La calidez de la personas y el amor q le brindan a los animales es lo q en realidad me impactó. La comida muy rica con muy buenas porciones y lo mejor de todo fue Alex; fue encantadora, una calidez humana y una atención única. Desde q llegamos al parque a las 9 de la mañana fue ella quien nos recibió y se encargó de todas las actividades q realizaríamos en el día. El sitio no es tan grande como un zoológico pero puedo decir q es tiempo de calidad es lo q se vive aquí. Si disfrutas de cada momento vale la pena. Puedo decir q el costo también vale la pena porq te das cuenta q el dinero q recaudan lo están invirtiendo en los animales . Detrás de todo puedes ver un gran equipo de trabajo que día a día están creciendo en pro de mejorar. This park is not a safari park, but it is exceptional. We purchased the cheapest "Monkey Lover" ticket and were still able to have a wonderful experience. The pass includes personal, guided tours through a petting zoo and includes up close encounters with capibara, baby goats, llama, mules, rabbits, white tigers, jaguars, baby tigers and lions, together with several species of monkeys and lemur. We were able to spend time inside the habitat of one of two kinds of monkeys, while they hopped on our shoulders and consumed bits of an apple. Other passes available include a visit with baby jaguars, cheetahs, lions and tigers, that are said to be rescued from rogue animal traffickers. The baby animals will be nursed until they are about two and then transported to an actual zoo. A couple of the older tigers seemed to be out of sorts in the small space they are offered, but during our visit, we noticed that construction has progressed on a much larger animal habitat where they will stay. We toured during the Covid-19 lockdown, and the facilities were superbly clean. Wait times were more than bearable. By the way, the tour includes a tequila tasting, with specially labeled bottles available for sale to raise money for their cause, which appears to be thriving. read more

We visited pai pai in Aug 2019 with our elementary school aged children. They had a great time! We didn't pay to hang out w the baby tiger. We were perfectly content with the package that came with our admission, and the additional 5$ pp for the petting zoo in the back of the building. One of my kids and I went into the enclosure w the monkey (I forget what species exactly) and my other child went into the enclosure w the lemurs. All of us had great fun! I would advise though to ask questions, because it occurred to me after the fact that the monkey was nibbling our hands quite a bit, never enough to break the skin, but prob good to ask staff to see vaccination records or wear gloves (if it's allowed) if you plan to feed them. In the back of the building, the petting zoo includes chickens, donkeys, goats, llamas, peacocks, pigs, geese, and giant tortoises. We just paid for our kids to go through without us and we could see them from the fence. However, I realized I'd like to take pics, so the lady working directly w the animals told me I could come in just to take the pics of our kids. She really went out of her way to make the experience entertaining for our kids, and helped them be comfortable with holding and feeding the animals. We spent about 2 hr there. It was a unique and fun way to spend the afternoon! read more
