It's important to note that La Paloma WIVC is primarily a residential location where people live around or maybe have their vacation homes here. There are two timeshare companies that own properties here. One is world, international vacation club and the other is Worldmark. Your experience here could vary, depending on which timeshare company you use or if you're renting from a private owner so not all reviews are necessarily reviewing the same thing unless they give you unit information or who they're renting from. My experience, we are here from WIVC. We have been using world international for years as I said 40 years at least maybe a little longer. We have been lucky enough to have multiple locations in a small area with its own pool and that has been really wonderful. There's also people who live in this section so there's a mixture of people. This year we had five units for multiple family members to come and get together which is what we usually do typically every other year. I'm currently staying in unit number 61 which is a great two bedroom unit that faces the pool from its balcony. It's a first floor so no stairs and as usual our room is the same as it's been since I've been coming here. We're all international employees a cleaning crew. They clean your room every day and they do everything. I try to help out and wash my own dishes usually but if I leave some in the sink, they take care of that. Once a week in the middle, they changed the sheets the rest of the time they come in and make beds replace all your towels clean the room. It's just really nice. Obviously these rooms are old but they do keep them updated. There's a lot of tile involved. It's a very Mexican aesthetic so I love that about it. One of the negatives might be that there is no air-conditioning in these units, but we know this and we bring fans to keep it cool. The rooms come with everything you need just like any time that you use a timeshare got all of your dishes and cooking utensils full kitchen in the two bedroom unit. You have a master bedroom with a bathroom and there is a common bathroom that can be used for everybody and there is a second bedroom with two twin size beds. So clearly designed for mom Dad and two kids, but it also works out for cousins hanging out together like us! The complex itself is incredibly safe. They have Security walking all the time keeping an eye on things they don't miss much so I feel 100% secure here. Our cars are behind a gated Security gate to in order to get in here you have to go through a security guard and be a resident or have a parking pass because you're staying here on vacation. The landscaping is incredible. It has never changed. It's beautiful garden setting and you really are right on the beach. It really hasn't changed over the years. There are four pools. There are tennis courts. I haven't made it back into the clubhouse this week. I know there's pool tables, but I don't know if they still have the sauna and steam room. I'll update if I get in there. That shows how busy we've been on this trip busy laying in the sun on the beach ha ha There is also an on-site café they're closed on Wednesdays but they have breakfast lunch and dinner. We've eaten there for dinner our first night altogether and it was fabulous. The coconut shrimp is recommended! And family members have had breakfast during this week and enjoyed it so definitely recommended. We had a lot of fun there. Overall, no change in my rating. I've been coming here since I was a teenager and I love it and we hope to continue coming as long as I can.

Positives: the place is nice and clean…read more negatives: security was crazy rude. I went there with my sister and 9 year old niece. We didn't realize that she couldnt go in the jacuzzi. She was there like 3 minutes. Security shows up and says she cant be in there.. we are like no prob wont happen again. He stays there next to us just staring. After a few minutes we are like, is there anything else? yes, you have to wait for the security manager to come and give you a written warning and if it happens again you will be fined. Like what?! he stands there 10 minutes waiting for manager.. it was so uncomfortable all the guests were staring at us it was embarrassing but funny you wouldve thought we smuggled in cocaine..see pictures.. it was so weird.. There is security everywhere i guess that's good but they were writing citiations constantly i guess thats how they make money on the side!

The sauce paired with it created such a rich and flavorful combination -- definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Everything tasted elevated and beautifully prepared. This makes me even more excited to come back to Ensenada and continue exploring more exquisite 5-star dining experiences. The food scene here is seriously amazing. I'll definitely be recommending Almatierra to my family and friends. If you're in Ensenada and love flavorful, upscale dining, this place is worth checking out!

It definitely feels like a special place that's more about relaxing and enjoying the wine country vibes than doing anything busy or fast-paced. The rooms are separate from each other, so it feels very private and quiet.. Perfect if you're looking to disconnect and have a calm weekend away... Our room was clean and had plenty of space... The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shower was roomy... They also have a refrigerator stocked with Their in house wine bottles you can choose from, which adds a fun touch... The property has a pool and spa area, but just keep in mind it's communal, there aren't private hot tubs or private spa setups in the rooms... Still, everything was well-maintained and relaxing... Pricing felt reasonable compared to other hotels in Valle, especially for how nice and comfortable everything was... One thing to note: Valle de Guadalupe is very spread out. This isn't a place to stay if you want nightlife or to be within walking distance of multiple wineries. You'll definitely need to drive to get around, and some of the roads are unpaved... The host was also extremely welcoming.. We arrived late after hours, and they were still available at the front desk, answered all our questions, and made us feel really comfortable... Overall, Ojo Azul is a beautiful, clean, romantic place to stay if you're looking for a quiet wine country escape. Would definitely recommend for couples looking to unwind..

A hummingbird nearly took my eye out a few minutes ago and I couldn't be happier. This place is very special. "Hidden gem" doesn't do the journey to find it justice but the hunt really paid off in the end. A perfect place to hide, unplug and really relax. Not too fancy but quintessential charming. The staff is hard working and very happy to be here. And Jim and TJ work their butts off to make sure everything is just right. I would recommend this oasis for reunions, corporate retreats, family getaways, destination weddings, and so much more.

Our guide Jose was excellent! He never ventured too far ahead, always making sure we were right behind him. We ended up popping a tire in the middle of our excursion and Jose changed our tire in addition to making sure we were all calm and uninjured. The terrain was a mix of hills, bumps, rocks, and portions of flat dirt road - not to crazy for us first-timers. Halfway though our excursion we stopped at Rincon Tropicana, a beautiful resort in the middle of the canyon we were driving through. The resort featured a monkey and other animals, in addition to beverages! Would definitely do this again! Highly recommended!

Surprisingly it was not busy at all, and our large group were seated immediately. We decided to get a bunch of tapas and entrees to share, along with two recommended bottles of wine. One white and one red, which were both tasty. Bone Marrow + Grasshopper Sauce Roasted Bone Marrow spread over on bread is always delicious! And just in case you're wondering, yes there's real grasshopper in the sauce, and we all ate grasshopper for the first time. It was basically like a spicy marmalade spread. Duck Breast + Orange Sauce & Burnt Onion Duck meat was tender and sauce paired well. Green Catch of the Day Ceviche + Persian Cucumber & Avocado The ceviche was delicioussss. A simple concoction that looked and tasted great with tortilla chips. Potato Gnocchi +Suckling Pig Sauce, Padua, Zucchini This was also yummy. Chewy, tender. Dates + Goat Cheese & Honey This was a very delicious pairing of fruit, cheese and honey. Fried Churros con Dulce de Leche This was probably the best churros I've ever had in my life. And that somebody also include one of the co-owners of the Encuentro winery or Encuentro Guadalupe antiresort, on the way from Tecate to Ensenada, middle of somewhere but really feeling like you are nowhere close from normal life. I heard about this place, half winery, half farm-to-table-high end restaurant, with a touch of 'glamping resort' because I had seen the pictures in some glossy mags about how the rich and famous travel. No worries, if I could go and spend the day, you can do it too. Because you really don't need to fork the $400 per minimalist-repurposed materials-beauty meets form factor cute boxes on the rocks. You can just go for the drinks and the food and you make a nice day trip from San Diego. Looks like crossing from Tecate is the easiest and fastest way, at least on the way back. Encuentro used to be called Endemico, and I am glad they changed the name, as it denotes something negative. Something that neither the environment, not the fertile nature nor the grapes are. Wine is abundant and the fruits from the land too. The winery includes 11 acres of mountain vineyards, you will enjoy a wine tasting bar open to the public from 11 am every day and an underground cellar, for which you need to make a group reservation. The vineyards produce Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Blanc and Nebiolo, among other varietals. This is a very peaceful place to be and extremely photogenic, showing all the splendor of the Guadalupe Valley, making great panoramas. Just watch out with the traffic...not the best drivers around there!

The entire perimeter is fenced in with a security guard at the entrance who keeps tabs on everyone in the complex. A 2 bedroom home can accommodate 4 guests, and they are strict about this. You will not be allowed to have additional guests even for a few hours, therefore it is very safe and private. I love the architecture which ranges from Mexican Baroque to traditional Spanish Colonial and the entire compound has cobblestone streets and cement walking paths. There are several little gardens of roses and other lovely flowers making this a great place to take walks and enjoy the scenery. The large pool/jacuzzi area has plenty of lounge chairs and shaded seating, a shuffleboard court, a gym, and a banquet room. There is also a large surfing beach with several sturdy palapas for all guests and owners to use. A visit to Las Gaviotas is certainly a treat. I love to relax, enjoy a good book followed by a leisurely walk, then swimming and a relaxing dinner when I visit.

I had to get into the shower and help my mom in as it's a tub with no way in except about 2 feet high and no rails to hold on to. We will definitely be back!!

Isidro and his team truly go above and beyond for every guest. You can tell they take great pride in what they do...every detail feels personal and thoughtful.
