The dining space was not as big as regular restaurants, few tables in front for larger groups and smaller ones were further inside across the bar. The bar huge though where most people hung out. They also had a game viewing area in the back. But though out the place there were several TVs that had the game on. The menu had plenty of popular American style dishes. I got to try the chicken wings and mussels for appetizers. Both were excellent. My friends loved their sandwiches and salmon dishes as well. All the dishes were served within a short wait time. The bartender was serving our table as well. He did really good job. We had a wonderful time hanging out with everyone while dining and watching the game.

It still had the same ambience as the main dining area (I think, from what I could see), but in a more intimate and quieter setting. I was a little concerned that service would be more lax over there, but our server was attentive enough and our food and drinks came out in reasonable timeframes. For drinks, my husband went for a glass of red wine and our other friend opted for a cocktail. My girlfriend and I were both pregnant, so we both opted for mocktails, appreciating how many options they had! We both went for the paloma, which tasted pretty close to the real thing. For eats, we split the arancini, which was unique with its inclusion of crab meat! It was a delightful bite with the seafood accompanied by the pesto and vodka sauce. We also split the Via Ottagio, enjoying the char from the grilled lettuce, which added a nice dimension to an otherwise simple salad. For my meal, I chose the gnocchi - featuring blueberry and brown butter, it was a unique take on my favorie pasta type! Each pillow was delicately crisp on the outside but so creamy inside from the inclusion of ricotta. A great dish! All of my dining partners equally enjoyed their meals, spanning from pizza to pasta to chicken. All portions were reasonable, and prices were fair as well. We spent a while chatting after our meals were complete, so we appreciated not being kicked out to clear off the table, even when we basically closed the place out. We are spoiled in the city with such excellent Italian food anywhere you turn, but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and unique-ness of Ariano. She did need to check on some menu items and they had some sold our dishes, but there were plenty of options still. When the food came, one of our entrees had a small mix up, but it was resolved before the rest of our food made it out. My shepherd's pie filling was deliciously rich. The mashed potatoes on top were broiled to crispy perfection. I didn't love the bread on the side, but I had more than enough pie to fill me up. Overall, I'd love to go back and try some other menu options.
