You almost drive past it. It's small & set back from the road, but DEFINITELY worth the find! Very nice owner. Server was polite & attentive & the food was excellent! I had lasagna. The salad was very simple, but fresh & colorful & the dressing was EXCELLENT. ( I ended up dipping my bread in it as well!). I hesitate to write a bad review against anyone but this was the worst dining experience I have had in the Grand Strand area in 40 years. They were nice and attentive but the food wasn't good at all. Sloppy presentation and not palatable at all. I literally had 2 bites of angel hair pasta with a ton of sauce and a little seafood microwaved on top. Not even sure they have a stove. We were the only ones in the restaurant during peak dining hours. We should have known better but thought we would give it a shot. Don't go !!! read more

There isn't a real kitchen in this restaurant. They use a microwave to reheat store-bought food. Chicken was frozen breaded cutlets and sauce is out of a jar. They use the cheap mozzarella out of the grocery store canister, too. My daughter has gluten and dairy allergies. We specifically asked that her food be prepared without gluten or cheese, and they served her both. When we said she couldn't have the plate, the owner actually scraped off the cheese in the kitchen, leaving more cheese underneath and the breaded chicken cutlet and the waitress brought it back to us. When we asked to speak to the owner/cook, he wouldn't come out. Probably because he was burning something in the microwave and almost setting the restaurant on fire. At that point, the restaurant was filling with smoke, and we just wanted out of there. If you don't believe me, go and listen to all the microwave door opening and closing and all the beeping. It's an unmistakable sound. There was only one waitress in the entire restaurant. It was her first day on the job, and she was truly overwhelmed. There was a large party in the restaurant at the time, and several other tables, so wait times were long for service. All of us diners had plenty of time to talk, and everyone was extremely disappointed with their food. Everyone who was there at the same time, left most of their food on their plates and everyone was complaining about how bad it was. Not a single doggy bag left the restaurant. The owner is also the one and only "cook", if you can call using the microwave to reheat cooking. He doesn't understand a thing about food allergies, so if you have any, I truly recommend you avoid this place like the plague. I suggested to the waitress that they actually list the food ingredients on the menu, instead of just saying "chicken and sauce". But I'm sure the owner doesn't even know what's in the food, since he doesn't prepare anything from scratch himself. Horrible experience, tacky atmosphere. The place should be condemned. read more

Tried this for the first time today, I live about a mile or so away and didn't know it was there until recently. The food was ok, but our order was not as it should have been. We ordered an Italian sub and a Caprese sub, both which the menu says comes with chips and a pickle. The Italian was good, bread was decent on both. Chips were fine but neither order included a pickle. The Caprese says it comes hot or cold, about which we were not asked to specify. We received a chicken parm sub. There's no way it was anything but. When we called, the person who answered told us that's the way he makes his Caprese. It was breaded chicken with marinara and mozzarella. Not something I would see ever be served cold. There is a Chicken Caprese, but not under subs. Just above on the menu is the Caprese salad app - fresh mozzarella and tomato (also basil, so we thought). That is what was expected we ordered, but on a sub. She was not apologetic and didn't ask if we wanted something else. We did not ask for anything, had no problem with the chicken parm which tasted fine, but was not what we ordered. No offer to correct it or even acknowledge they made a mistake. I'm sure a newer restaurant wants repeat customers and maybe their dinner is great, but the jury is out on whether or not we'll visit again. read more

We have been living in Surfside just shy of 5 yrs. During that time, we have been ordering take-out from all the smaller restaurants in the area. We tried Paisano's for the first time on Monday evening 12-04. We ordered Eggplant Parm w/penne and Chicken Parm w/penne. First, the eggplant was so SMALL that it would have been gone in two, maybe three forkfuls, the pasta was very mushy and the sauce was just a tad sour tasting. Second, the chicken parm looked and tasted like it was the frozen patties bought from a store. The salad that came with dinner was nothing but spinach leaves thrown into Styrofoam with a few pieces of tomato. Pitiful. It's no wonder there were only 2 gentlemen in the dining room at the height of dinner. As for the service, the waitress could not have been any more friendly, helpful or professional. Very good service even for take-out. Keep it up. Now we know this is only OUR opinion, but we felt we should make it known. read more

Visiting from Pennsylvania. Felt like I was in a restaurant in the North End of Boston . This restaurant is a gem ! Everything was wonderful : hot homemade bread , fresh salad , delicious lasagne , shrimp with scallops in a white sauce with linguine , and scrumptious tiramisu and cannoli . Outside is nothing special set in a strip of shops but once inside it is well worth the stop ! It is a BYOB which is a plus . Highly recommend! read more

I had a craving for eggplant parmigiana and I came to the right place. Excellent food, great service too considering the owner does it all. If you want fast food go to McDonald's but if you want great Italian food sit down and relax. I got my food just as fast as a fully staffed restaurant. You can almost miss this place, as it's nestled in a small strip mall on Bus 17. Inside is very pretty and inviting. We loved the table for two in the back on a little platform. My husband said the sauce was as good as his mom's and I had to agree. The salad was very fresh and tasty and the bread was outstanding; I couldn't stop eating it.
