It had been a while since I've ben here and I heard that there might be new owners. I ordered pizza over the holiday weekend and it was not too long of a wait. The size of the pizzas is great, but they really lacked toppings, and the crust really lacked flavor. Maybe it was just an off day, but it did not live up to the previous pizza I tried here. read more

I had an extremely disturbing experience at Surf Side Pizza. I arrived around 12:30 PM with my daughter, only to find the door locked despite the "OPEN" sign being clearly lit. We knocked and waited -- no one responded. However, we soon noticed that the staff were selectively opening the door and allowing white customers inside while continuing to ignore us. As a Black father with my Black daughter, this felt like blatant discrimination. There is no excuse for a business to treat people differently based on race. If you believe in equality and human decency, do not support places that treat some people as welcome and others as invisible. Racism has no place in any community -- including the restaurant business. read more

"Don't trust anyone who sells you spaghetti for 10$" Pizzas real good and they're good old italians. Menu on yelp is a lil old as of 2025 your pay $18 for spaghetti and meatballs but what do you want for nothing? The girl with the cornicello is friendly and funny as hell. Shes got great bits. I'm sorry but I can't believe the reviews are so high. My husband just said if you could get the pastry into squares, you could make boxes. Toppings - like the sausage, mushrooms were CANNED and lack of everything else were also disappointing. We are locals, but our fav pizza place -Aromas - must be on vacation, so we had seen all the great reviews, and thought we would try...now the people there are very nice and as a local I feel bad calling them out, but come on now, this pizza is horrible! This is the second weekend in a row where the phone is nonstop busy. Decided to go the restaurant to make our order. The lady at the front explained that they are just "always on the phone" When we tried to order the lady kept walking away to answer the phone that kept ringing and acted surprised we wanted to order more, because hello, you should ask if there's anything else. When we ordered more her response was "sorry you just looked depressed and sad and that's not in my pay grade" Completely unprofessional, especially to customers who pretty much order every single weekend. Pizza and sausage hoagie were very good. The restaurant is not big....we will do carry out next time. I thought it was a little pricey for pizza place, but we had enough leftovers for 2-3 more meals. Staff was friendly. Service is needed for their air conditioning---dripping condensation on customers is not good. We just ordered the basics, Pepperoni Pizza, Italian salad, garlic knots and the cannolis. It was hot and fresh tasting. The pizza was New York style. I'm from Boston area New England, visit the area regularly as family lives down here. Have never, ever had pizza that was edible in the area until today. Very good pizza, sauce had a great flavor, right amount of cheese and thin perfectly cooked crust. Greasy..but that's my preferred way! Garlic knots outstanding and Alfredo pasta also excellent. We walked in on a Saturday night at 9:00, Yelp said they close at 10. No one was in the place & the owner said the kitchen actually closes at 9:00...what??? I have never heard of such a thing, we had to leave, his brother the chef said they would not cook for us! We will never come back, VERY poor customer service!!! read more

Not sure how this place is high rated. It's good but I wouldn't necessarily say it's great. I'm from PA, so my review may be a little biased. In SC, they call an Italian sandwich a Cold Cut, which is odd to me. I am very critical of pizza. I did grab only a slice and not a fresh pie. I thought the crust was a little on the burned side. Parking is a little tough here. I would definitely come back and try more food on the menu. I am curious if the sandwich rolls are brought in or if they are made in house.
