Delicious family dinner at Ciao @ciaomyrtlebeach ! Every dish and cocktail was fantastic. There are a lot of Italian spots in Myrtle Beach and this is a great pick in terms of food and atmosphere. Service wise the food/drinks took longer than expected but overall we really enjoyed our evening and will be back! - Grouper Francaise - Halibut and Crab Special - Cucumber Basil Martini, Peach Bellini Martini, Boulevardier - Veal Calabrese - Chicken Piccata - Beet Carpaccio Appetizer - Syrah from WA State

A really great meal. We stopped by on Tuesday for dinner without reservations. Only had to wait a few moments for a table. Our sons really loved their penne alla vodka. My Lobster Ravioli was fantastic and my husband enjoyed his dish as well. The drinks were strong. The bread came with a pesto oil. Had to be careful keeping it away from our peanut allergy child though, but they brought butter for him to use. I would have given 5 stars, but our server wasn't as attentive as we would have hoped for. Wasn't anywhere to be seen for quite some time when we were looking to have a 2nd drink and then again when it was time to ask for the check. I would recommend coming here if you'd like a great Italian meal while on vacation though!

Spinach and Walnut Ravioli ( Great) Egg plant Rollatini (Great) Mango and Passion fruit dessert! To die for! As GREAT as everything was, it only paled in comparison to the most AWESOME service from Karla! Thanks Guys! We'll be back every chance we get! See you soon Karla!

We stopped in for a nice meal after a day of helping family with projects and such. We were exhausted and hungry and when we arrived we were immediately taken to our table and our waiter came by mentioned some dishes special to the evening and said he'd get us waters and be right back. He handled our entire meal so easily and smoothly that we truly enjoyed the meal as we relaxed after such a day. It was a treat. The food was spot on with amazing flavors and lovely presentation. This is a cozy place that is welcoming and romantic. We also enjoyed some great cocktails and a dessert. My wife had the pistachio martini as I recall. The drink had a chocolate rim with crushed pistachio on that. It was amazing. I enjoyed the blood orange Negroni, so much so I had to have a second one. We thoroughly enjoyed the time at Ciao and the way the staff worked so well to make our meal special. It was an excellent way to end our day. We'll be back next time we're in Myrtle Beach.

Ciao represents September in my 2024 photo series. Even though my girlfriend & I had Umberto's at Barefoot Landing, just 2 days earlier on Sunday, we along with the group opted for Ciao on Tuesday, September 3. We were busy enjoying the beach & pool at nearby Dune's on our last day in Myrtle Beach before leaving Wednesday morning. I realized the place someone had recommended on the beach was closed on Tuesdays or had limited hours. So, we were doing research, and it was kind of an ordeal figuring out what we were eating as people had different opinions. I saw this online, and it seemed like it was super expensive, but upon further investigation of the menu, it was moderate pricing and comparable to other Italian in the area. I was hangry because it took a long time to figure out what we were doing, and it was after 8 PM by the time decision was made (granted we had been busy in water until like 7:15). We opted on Ciao and decided to walk from Dune's since it was so close instead of cramming into a car or two cars and losing the decent parking spaces people had in the Dune's garage. Walking was nice on that temperate night, but the bad part was crossing the busy 6-lane US 17 Business, with no lights to cross at or even a crosswalk, with people zooming by at 50 mph or even more. So, we made a run for it when the coast was clear. We arrived, and they said they were full but we could sit at the bar. I guess we didn't think the day after Labor Day around 8:30 PM would be that busy. So, we had to settle at the bar to eat our food. Bartender was very nice but understandably a bit stressed having to deal with 5 dinner orders when typically people at the bar are just getting drink(s) and/or maybe appetizer or something. However, she got a nice tip as she was hustling, answered our menu questions. I opted for the lasagna, which was amazing. We split calamari, which was only top notch. I asked what someone else from my party at the bar got for the wine, which she said Meiomi Chardonnay, which rhymes with our mutual friend Naomi. She said it's really good, you'll like. I got that, and she was right! It was one of the best wines I had in 2024. If ever in Myrtle Beach, I'd come back here. The bartender saved the day as did the outstanding cooks here. I was very happy that night with our Ciao choice.

Went there for my birthday with a group of 10 and it was perfect. We had a reservation and got to our table right away and food and drinks were served quickly. Everyone enjoyed their meal and desserts and they even came out with a birthday dessert for me. Highly recommend!

Meals and service were excellent. Bread and walnut pesto was a nice starter. Salmon piccata special was delish! Hubby loved his linguini and white clam sauce. We'll definitely be back.

Another great option in MB for Italian. The Grouper Francaise was AMAZING. Both my husband and I rated it 5 stars.

Nick is an absolute legend!…read more We came to Portofino not knowing what to expect, and we left completely blown away -- and honestly, a huge part of that was our waiter, Nick. This guy is on another level. From the moment we sat down, Nick's energy, knowledge, and genuine passion for hospitality set the tone for the entire evening. He wasn't just taking our order -- he was curating an experience. Now let's talk about the Cacio e Pepe -- insanely good doesn't even begin to cover it. It was perfectly executed: silky, bold, with just the right bite of pepper. Classic done right. But you know what made it taste even better? Nick. He recommended it with such confidence and enthusiasm that we had to order it, and he absolutely delivered. Nick was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and just an all-around fantastic human being. He made us feel like VIP guests from start to finish -- checking in at exactly the right moments, offering spot-on suggestions, and keeping the whole experience flowing effortlessly. If you go to Portofino, you absolutely should ask for Nick by name. He is the kind of server that reminds you why going out to dinner is supposed to be a special occasion. We will 100% be back, and Nick is a big reason why. Portofino, you have a gem on your staff. Treat him well!

That was one of the best experiences. First of all, the butcher starts cutting our rib-eyes. My friend keeps saying, hey, they look too thick. They look too big. They did this. I gave the butcher but gave in five air fist bumps y buddy said they were too big, he weighed them. They were dead on. I gave him like 5 air fist bumps. Then when you turn around, they have all the vegetables, we got macaroni chesse all the fii and cheese, just all of the fixings for the dinner. Comming in here feels like you're having a private butcher. One more thing. Their daily specials like pot roast and brisket. If I lived in Myrtle Beach, I would come there twice a week for the weekly special. Great service and high quality meats. I am here for all of it.

This is one of the stores that we stopped in! The Olive Shoppe is a store that sells all different kinds of Olives, and Olive oils and their infusions, like with balsamic, and it is fresher too. My Mom and I actually have been in a few shops like this on various trips in Lancaster PA, and NJ. So we are familiar with this type of place. The Olive Shoppe also has locations in Market Commons here, as well as another location in SC. Walked in and employee was friendly and greeted us. We then looked around at the olives and brought some kind of stuffed olive. We then looked at all the various types of Olive Oils which they had many different items and infused flavors. One can cook with them, One can use it as some kind of marinade, and lots of other things. One can also try the Olive Oil to see if you like it, and can buy it. We both tried the Avacado Olive Oil, and enjoyed it! So we got that. Plus avacado is supposed to be good for a person. We brought Avacado Olive oil, some stuffed olives, and something else, plus we got a olive oil holder that helps the container stay fresh. Purchasing that we got a discount on our items. We paid via credit card. We look forward to using our new olive oil! We will be back soon if we want more items!

Hi Everyone, If you…read morelive to eat as many my of my Italian friends do, Villa Romano's succulent fare, will put that curl in your hair. This restaurant was a surprise from our oh so friendly, engaging, interesting and very accomplished Accordion Virtuoso, Mike. To our very enthusiastic, lovely, patient, Server Berkley. To our food which was divine. To the "Old World" Italian environment, kinda like Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, without the human statues that move ever so slightly, but just enough to to make you feel, something is a miss, but what??? Man, that drove me crazy. Also, you want to go here to dine because their competing Restaurants in the area feel having you wait in very long, well over an hour and a half lines, just to get in satisfies their need not to take any reservations. Hun...? Yep, they're fine having Aunt Susie's makeup looking like Mark Shostrom, the Master Makeup Artist from the horror series "A Nightmare on Elm Street" movies, put it on for her. We all know also, because while we tried our best not looking at how Aunt Susie's makeup was contorting her face, it was like trying not to look at a car wreck. I even laid 7-5 odds that her false eyelashes would become a moustache, and won, while we all did exactly that to satisfy my beautatious date's Cousins' from Reno, fish wish, in Myrtle Beach. We stood in the lines outside, in the evening heat, at three different restaurants that we tried. Please remember to bring water, you'll feel better while you wait, wait, wait again, and then really wait, as if Mosses is going to appear from on high with the Ten Commandments. Instead it's, "Your table is ready" as you try to wake Grandma from her heat induced coma. While Villa Romano's bait, is to actually take your reservation and instead, have you relax on your tushy while having a cocktail in their comfortably A/C filled delightful ambience while you relive your day's perspective with friends and Family ("No, you missed it. First he...", ya know), while Mike fills the air with his sweet mellifluous musical notes floating by you for your audio pleasure, much like the feather in Forrest Gump. Their appetisers looked awesome however, this is an "Old World" Italian restaurant that offered their minestrone soup, and their Caesar salad which came with our meals, was very tasty, and paired very well with the bottle of wine from their varied, and well selected wine list, which we all shared. First, I read some of Villa Romania's great reviews on Yelp, before making a reservation, most especially, because I did not want anyone to have to repeat "THE LONG Lines" at our Fried Fish Palace, lol experience from two nights earlier. All of our entrees pictured below, were savoy, aroma enticing, tastebud thrilling, flavor forward, and exceeded all our sensory expectations which helped us all unwind while really enjoying our evening out together as it unexpectedly, evolved into an event for us all. While all their deserts sounded wonderful we were all completely full. But on our next visit, tiramisu, ice cream, and cannolis for all. So it's expensive, right? That is a great question Poindexter, but wrongo, my parsimonious friend. It was again, surprisingly affordable, and "I shall return" as General Douglas MacArthur once said. Why? Because sometimes you just can't find what will work for everyone, and that feels and tastes, just right. That's it! That is Villa Romana Restaurant, and we all were so gleeful and happy we discovered that fact in our visit to Myrtle Beach, SC. Manga... Enjoy!
