What was left of mozzarella sticks when remembered to take pictures!

Recently moving to area and saw this little place, decided to try it. Small little restaurant, older building. Comfortable, clean dining area. We were there at lunch so not sure if always order at counter as there were menus too, but either way...worth the stop. I would prefer the bread to have a little flavor or seasoning, but the bread was perfectly toasted and light. Salads typical for Italian restaurant, ranch dressing good. We had manicotti and lasagna, mozzarella sticks and all were great! Good flavor, temperature, serving size, etc. staff friendly and professional.

I was not disappointed. My coworker and I were looking for a place to eat. The recent reviews were very positive. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and it was very creamy and delicious! My coworker got the lasagna lunch plate and he ate it all! The bread they served with the meals were crunchy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside! Chicken fettuccine Alfredo 7/10

RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! NEVER AGAIN! I'm shocked at the rude customer service I received from this family-owned business. On my way home from work today. I called in an order four of my family of six. During the call, the young lady who took my order was extremely rude and short over the phone, mocking me for not knowing the menu. When I picked up the order, the young lady never greeted me and handed me a receipt book stating, "Your order has been prepaid," and then slammed the window. My son was in the car with me and we were both very shocked! When the young lady returned, she still had not greeted us, and she had a mad look on her face while handing me my order. I proceeded to tell her that she had rude customer service. When I left, I called the restaurant and spoke with the owner. He proceeded to tell me that the girl was his daughter and then immediately hung up on me. I called him back, and he told me not to ever call back there again. Wow!!!! Despite having spent $85 there, they hung up on me after cutting off my attempt to explain how bad their service was. Family run Businesses are great, however, if family members feel that they are exempt from being nice to the customers just because they are family, it's sad!!! My family and I have lived in benbrook for almost four years, and we've eaten at this restaurant several times. As a matter of fact, my husband Enjoyed going there. ... He is in shock to see that this restaurant. What do something like this. It is sad to see that this restaurant is going downhill from a service standpoint. From one business owner to another. ... Customer service really is everything!!!

We love this restaurant. Everything I have had is very good. We try to go almost once a month and it's all been so good. The staff is very nice and welcoming.

Spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs. $12.99

First visit to this place was based on the high average rating. My overall rating is average. First came the free bread and warm marinara sauce. Didn't care for the bread or sauce. Both very average. I started my meal with a Caesar salad, dressing on the side. It was huge, more than I thought I would get. It was good and I'm glad I got the dressing on the side. Next came the cup of soup that comes with the pasta entrees. I had the pasta e fagioli. I've had much better at several other restaurants. My entree was spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs. Lots of al dente pasta with tasty, tender meatballs and sauce, but there was not enough of the sauce and it could have had more gravy. Service was very good. I will probably return but not for pasta.

Pizza and the soup they gave me on the side

Fantastic choice! The menu is very "urban hipster" vibes. Plenty of burgers, lots of fun appetizers, charcuterie, one of my friends has some dietary restrictions and they were easily able to accommodate her needs which made us all very happy. This spot has a great bar in the front, and a smaller bar in the rear of the place. Outdoor seating as well as covered seating. Plenty of shade as well which will serve their patrons nicely in the coming Texas summer months. This is also a dog friendly dining spot, plenty of people were there with some amazing canine companions (always ask before you pet a strangers pup, it's just polite and courteous. Almost no one says No!). Assuming you don't have a dog allergy, this will hopefully be a feature. There is a relatively new apartment complex across the street and I get the feeling a lot of the people stopping in were regulars who bring in their dogs during walkies and grab a bite before heading back home, but that is just pure conjecture on my part. Either way, it was a fun inviting atmosphere. The music was nice, not too loud for my old man ears to enjoy but still present enough to be part of the evening without being intrusive. Staff was very nice, helpful, friendly, etc. Everything one would expect from a fine Texas eatery. Lots of spicier options on the menu if you're into that, but by no means anything overpowering. My guess is the owner has stock in some jalapeno growers farm somewhere and the food is all the better for it! If you're in the area already or if you're thinking of branching out for a nice new burger spot, this place is great and I will be returning. I live nearby so it'll likely become part of the regular rotation for us in the coming months. We are spoiled for choice in this area when it comes to good burgers being close to Grumps, close to Kincaid's, and close to Tommy's up on Camp Bowie. But this place competes on good burgers and if you're looking for a fun hangout atmosphere, you'd be hard pressed to find better. Easily recommended! Give them a try, I don't think you'll regret it! Cheers!

I called a girlfriend and told her I'd found a new spot: wine, charcuterie boards, and live music. Sounded like a perfect evening. When we arrived, a young employee did her best to find the hostess and get us seated. After a few minutes, she honestly seemed more flustered than we were, she apologized and offered to seat us herself. We got settled, I ordered a margarita, and then I noticed a large dog roaming around. No leash, no owner in sight. (Later found out the owner owns the bar, the regulars are very familiar with the dog) I looked down at the menu, then looked back up, and the dog was literally face-to-face with me. We got up to leave immediately. A dog-friendly patio? Sure. That's completely fine. But allowing a dog to freely roam throughout both the outdoor patio and the covered upstairs area is baffling to me. (My last visit a dog was on the table, I assumed the young staff just didn't know how to approach the situation, but tonight shows this is how Hideaway operates day in and day out) When I explained my concern to the waitress, she said she understood and asked me to close out my tab for the one margarita I had just ordered and hadn't touched. No ma'am. I'd been there less than ten minutes, and for me, this crossed a line. Clearly, some guests enjoyed it. I saw people petting the dog and calling it over. Different preferences, and that's their choice. But mine is different. I won't be back, and if I recommend this place to anyone, it will come with a warning: dogs aren't just allowed here- they appear to have free rein of the space, whether that's on tabletops, near your food, or directly in your personal space, whether you want that interaction or not.

The noise level was extremely high...we literally had to yell just to have a conversation with each other. Service was also very slow. It took about 15 minutes just to be acknowledged at the bar, and close to 30 minutes to actually receive a drink. When I finally ordered, I told the bartender to make her favorite drink. She made something that included raw egg whites (which I later learned is common in certain cocktails), but it wasn't mentioned or explained at the time. A few hours later, I became very sick...vomiting and dealing with what felt like severe food poisoning all night and through the next 24 hours. After looking into it, I suspect it may have been related to the raw egg used in the drink. Just something to be aware of if you're ordering drinks like a whiskey sour or anything that may include egg whites. After getting our receipt (which you need for the speakeasy entry code), we checked out the speakeasy portion, but the vibe there wasn't great either..pretty must the same as the other part of the bar. We ended up leaving within about five minutes. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype for us....between the noise, long wait times, and how we were treated, it just wasn't enjoyable. For comparison, the bar next door, Archibald, felt much more welcoming. Maybe regulars have a different experience, but as first-time guests, we were not impressed.
