It was my mom's birthday and she was in the mood for Italian. I had heard good things about Pie Tap so Pie Tap it was! We came in on a cold Monday night. We parked at street parking across the restaurant without issue. Inside, we were promptly seated. The inside is nice and dim with an open kitchen. We started the night off with the Fondue. The rosemary buffs were delicious and the perfect vehicle for the two different dips - goat cheese fondue and pecan pepper jam. I really enjoyed the goat cheese. It was nice and hearty, pairing very well with the bread. The pepper jam added a sweet touch but I'm more a savory person so I was more than content with the cheese itself. My mom got the papparadelle and bolognese while I got the sausage pizza. The papparadelle was nice and al dente. It paired well with the bolognese sauce. However, I felt it was warm when it came out so it got cold quickly. The sausage pizza was delicious! The star of the pie were easily the carmelized onions - added such a perfect level of sweetness that it really elevated the whole dish. The crust also went well with the cheese from the fondue. At this point in the evening, we were feeling pretty full. Nonetheless, our waiter, Seamus, knew it was my mom's birthday. With that in mind, he treated us to the donuts. They came with chocolate sauce and strawberry jam. Both were good. I personally preferred the chocolate since that's what I usually lean more towards. We thought it was such a nice gesture. The night was that much more special because of Seamus. Overall, althrough everything wasn't perfect (not that it should have been), the work and effort was clearly there. My boyfriend and I stopped by Pie Tap for dinner while we were exploring the Fort Worth area. We wanted to try different pizzas and our server said we could split the pizza so we got half bbq and half salami. The salami was our favorite but the bbq chicken was still super good. My boyfriend also wanted to try the spicy rigatoni pasta and he liked it. The flavor was really good but the sauce was pretty liquidy rather than creamy and thicker like we expected. My parents and I were in the area and saw that they had happy hour and decided to give it a try. I've dined at Pie Tap before in Lower Greenville but this was my first time at this location. The interior is pretty cool, very industrial looking. There's also a nice little patio seating room with a tree that we saw but didn't dine in that area. Service was great and quick during our visit. Various olives, feta, toasted chickpea and what I believe was roasted red peppers with rainbow carrots, cucumber slices and the softest sourdough I've ever had. My friend and I spent the day in Fort Worth and decided to try PieTap -- and it absolutely did not disappoint! The decor inside is beautiful, with a cozy vibe, and there's a charming little outdoor area featuring an awesome tree that adds so much character. Our server, Quinn, was fantastic. Super friendly and attentive, checking in just the right amount without ever being too much. We both went with the lunch special -- 1/2 pie and a salad for just $12 (such a great deal!). Since we were celebrating, we treated ourselves to a couple of adult beverages. She had the Smoked Old Fashioned, and I went for the Espresso Martini -- both were excellent. Stopped by for lunch on Labor Day because they were having happy hour all day! The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating and bright open atmosphere! Sat at the bar and Service was wonderful! The food was so delicious! We had the honey chicken sandwich and the smash burger. The chicken sandwich had a great balance of flavor and the sourdough bread was so tasty! The burger was amazing! The flavor on that burger was spot on and the jalapeños gave it a great kick! Really enjoyed my first visit here for a group lunch. Nice layout and moderate space made it a relaxing time. Nice menu options from apps, salads, soup, to pizza pie. We liked the happy hour options. Came here for lunch one day and was immediately greeted by Hayden who was my server. This was my second time here and honestly, I have to say that this place just has really great customer service!! Hayden was super sweet and super helpful with navigating the menu as there are so many good options and I really appreciate when people have their own personal recommendations that they don't mind passing along. My drink and my food came super quick and guys--It was so amazing. I ordered the mushroom pizza as well as some fries on the lunch special menu and I also got a frozé-- Because why not?! Unfortunately, our first experience did not leave a noticeable impression since we both prefer thick pizzas (theirs are ultra skinny) and the carbonara did not taste like other carbonara. Sauce was watery instead of creamy, and I didn't care for the poach egg. On the contrary, my boyfriend tasted my pasta and loved it; so much so that we decided to come back a few weeks later and he ordered the carbonara while I tried to go for the sandwiches. I'm glad to have tried it because their chicken sandwich is AMAZING. Very good melted cheese combined with well cooked, crispy skin yet soft chicken meat. 10/10 would order again. They have a really good crust; they do a 3 day natural fermentation process and it's different from the others. The service is good and the wait isn't bad either. They gave so much arugula that it felt like a salad on a pizza, but I wasn't complaining because I love veggies. I'm a bona-fide boomer. But, nice trendy spot with a mix of ages and demographics. Pizza is brick oven, so it takes a bit of time. Came out hot, looked delicious before the first bite. Dug in, flavor was even better than I expected. Tea was not full-bodied, though. Didn't do it for me. Glass went empty and wasn't offered a refill until I was ready for the check. We came between Xmas and New year's and it was very quiet. It is surprisingly big on the inside with modern interior and an outdoor patio. We sat at the front bar which is very long and served drinks and there was another one at the back over looking the pizza ovens as well as multiple tables. We were here around 2pm they were still serving brunch which sounded delicious, but my husband wanted to split a pizza so we did half prosciutto and half salami both were great. We get sat, waters dropped, and... that's it. My wife hits the restroom, and I sit there like some forgotten ghost in the corner of a speakeasy, menu in hand, while the staff did everything short of crawling under tables to avoid ours. I've worked in restaurants. I know the look. The "I don't feel like dealing with that table so I'll pretend I'm busy polishing an already clean glass" routine. It was textbook. 6, maybe 8 minutes of this circus and still not a single person comes over. Not a "hey we'll be right there," not a fake smile, not a lazy table touch. Nothing. So we walked out. And you know what? No one noticed. Not one person even blinked. This used to be a regular spot for us. But if you can't manage decent service when the place is empty, good luck when it's packed.
