I have used this store multiple times for shipping odd-sized packages. I am happy that it is close to home, but I can tell you, I would drive across town to use them! Prices are what they are, they don't set them, but they certainly don't mark up a huge amount like other UPS stores I no longer use. I had a coffee table delivered to Pak Mail a little over a year ago. The manager was going to arrange for it to be delivered to me. Instead, he donated it to Goodwill. He never tried to get in touch with me as I would have been happy to pay for shipping. He was going to arrange it with someone he knew. I recently made a purchase online and they recommended this business to ship my purchase to me. Just to ship a picture in the frame would cost $100. Where I priced the same item on fedex and ups and it was less than $25 to ship it. A cardboard box ain't worth $75. Find somewhere else to go. I wanted to ship a picture that was 29x23x1, weighing less than a pound and was quoted $100 to ship it. $100.00????The guy said it would cost around $25 to take it out of the frame and put it in a tube and ship it. Losing the frame it was in. I already paid for the picture and decided to ship it for $25 instead of $100. My issue is two fold. First my picture that I purchased will now have to get a new frame which will cost more money out of my pocket. Second there is a $75 dollar difference shipping a picture in a tube than in a frame that is less than 1lb. $75 dollar difference??? I have looked online for the last few hours and I don't see anyone charging $100 to ship a picture. I know you need to make money but you are straight up taking advantage of people. All items were picked up on the day required (late fees would've been added if not!) and they provided prompt quotes for shipping and expertly packed it all, items arrived with zero damage. A tale of two oil paintings, roughly the same size. One was packed and shipped FedEx by the Wyoming museum at a cost of $25. The other was from EJ's auction with this pakmail for $288. That is a ridiculously high price. I could have flown out to Arizona from Virginia and picked it up for the same price. They know they have a captive customer from the neighboring auction house and take full advantage of it. read more

This is about the way Pak Mail overcharges clients who have purchased items at EJ Auctions. Do they pack items well. They sure do. Too well. We received four huge cartons containing 6 lots that we purchased at a recent auction at EJ. Pak Mail had double boxed them all because they were porcelain and ceramic pieces. They said if they don't double box it, it can not be insured. OK. But the second box contained only peanut fill, yet we were charged almost the same amount as the first box with the well wrapped items. We spent $690 for the lots, and were charged over $900 to send them. Not only that. One huge double box contain only three small pieces. We spent $35 for the merchandise and almost $200 to pack and ship it. You can see what I'm talking about in the attached photos. So if you are going to purchase at EJ's, be sure to check what the shipping costs are going to be. That may well determine whether you want to even bother purchasing anything. I doubt if we will ever participate in an EJ auction again. The cost of sending is prohibitive. EJ would do well to look into this problem. And you would do well to be extremely cautious.
