So I've been wanting to go to Palace for a really long time. The hubby and I decided to have a date night and thought that this would be the place. Really not knowing what to expect. Located next to nice guys in downtown Cape Coral when we walk in we were pleasantly surprised to see this dark, sexy wine bar that exuded casual, but coolness at the same time. We picked up a bottle of wine, looked at their food. Menu made a couple of questions to the bartender and really enjoyed our night. The star of the show was the environment itself. How cool and low-key it was, but we also really did enjoy the food. The bartender suggested we try a can of tinned fish, which sounds crazy, but at her suggestion we tried it and it was delicious the perfect amount of food. One thing that did surprises was the court fee of $15. Her bottle that is opened in the restaurant. So please make sure you take that into account. Small wine selection (by the glass), I had the last glass of wine of the day which came with ALOT of sediment and was quite cloudy......I know they specialize in small batch wineries but for Pete's sake there are strainers to remove sediment. What a cozy little spot in downtown Cape! Tucked into a strip on Cape Coral Pkwy, it's easy to miss if you're not seeking it out. The interior is dimly lit, giving a very intimate vibe to the place. You have a pool table to play at, large comfy couches to sit in with your company, or regular bar and table seats. Along with the bar, there are bottles laid out for purchase along the shelves. The owners were very knowledgeable about their wines - when I wasn't sure where to start, they were happy to let me sample a few wines based off of my preference. Interesting little place. It has wine and other drinks. Also two choice menu of either crackers or charcuterie platter, but you can bring in other food from any of the many nearby restaurants, which is an "interesting" concept. The owners are very nice people, and I give them points for trying a different idea; Different for me anyway. They are there for recommendations if you need them and to answer questions. It's sort of like going to a friends place for drinks because its very casual. It's decor did not impress, pretty dark and filled with little conversation areas with big chairs and couches to sit with friends, but imo the decor could go a little upscale and maybe have some interesting art on the wall with soft lights over it for focal areas. Being a decorator in my own mind, I wanted to stage the place a bit. But back to wine. I had some very good wine. Granted, we never got the best chance to come here after turning 21, but after a boring day in and wanting to go for a drink, me and my partner can safely say this bar is worth it. Don't expect food, this place is a true to heart wine bar, and they are all the better for it. From incredible selections from around the world to bottles with stories that actually have heart and impact for their communities, this bar is one I would frequent religiously if I had the luck to live here. If it's still there, and it should be, the Aslina Cabernet Sauvignon is a must have. I love whites near exclusively, but the beauty of this vintner and their choice of used oak let's the grape truly shine through. A proper 10/10, would recommend everyone to give this bar a shot and be well informed and well drunk patrons of fine, true, non-commercial BS wine. read more

This a wonderful new find. A wine and pub bar with a cool eclectic feel. The wine list is varied and interesting. The owners are wonderful at describing the wines and I especially enjoyed the Touraine. They don't have food but there is a food truck or you can bring your own. OK I have a confession. I've been to Palace pub and wine bar quite a few times over the last few months but hesitated to post a review because it's a hidden gem that my wife and I like to hang out at. We usually have a bottle of wine and play pool on their new table. However, I do want the place to thrive so I thought I would post my review. I don't remember the exact bottles of wine that we've gotten but I usually get a chilled red wine and my wife usually gets a Muscato type of wine. Everyone who works there is super knowledgeable about their wine selections which makes a hard decision very easy with their advice. Last time I was there the owner had their lab hanging out which made the experience even better she's a perfect mascot. Feel free to bring your own munchies to help soak up the wine. The music usually has a pretty cool vibe with couches to sit on and also a nice sized bar. I wish this place much success they deserve it. read more
