Such a cute hidden gem for sure. This was my 2nd time here for the charcuterie buffet. I was part of a large alcohol free group on September 19th. Our servers were very friendly and the staff kept the buffet stocked. The flatbread pizza with Apricots and blue cheese was something I would never have thought to pair together. Loved everything about this adorable little wine bistro! The wine list is great - something for everyone - if you're not feeling like a glass of wine, they have a delicious spritz' type of a cocktail which is delicious! The food is very fresh and full of flavor. Can't wait to be back to try more dishes. We had the beet and pistachios salad which was fantastic and a small charcuterie board to start followed by one of their pinsa (cross between pizza and flatbread). The staff was very accommodating , warm and friendly. We got a chance to talk to one of the owners ( it's a lovely husband and wife team) and got a bit more info about the restaurant, their wine list selection etc... One word: eccezionale! This place is outstanding, and from the moment we entered I knew we were in for a great experience. A beautiful cafe that took me right back to Rome for an Italian aperitivo and fed us imported breads, wines & cheeses that made this Italian girl's heart & stomach so very happy. If you're from the NE part of the USA, and homesick for a great ciabatta bread, this is the place to go. We had a fantastic bottle of Sangiovese-Montepulciano wine that paired perfectly with our selection of charcuterie items. The charcuterie buffet had a large selection of meats, cheeses, olives, bread, pinsas, pickled vegetables, etc. They also serve sandwiches on Schiacciata, which would rival the very well known sandwich shops in Florence, Italy. We met the owners wife, who was extremely friendly and happy to get her husband to make a made to order sandwich for us with mortadella, burrata, & pistachio. The pinsa, which is a cross between pizza & flatbread, is delizioso! We especially liked the one with Gorgonzola cheese and mushrooms, with a balsamic drizzle. The dough is light and airy but has a nice chew. I can't wait to go back to try the homemade pastas. Needless to say, we will definitely be frequent Flockers! Ben fatto! They never disappoint...the food is excellent and freshly prepared, the service is always outstanding and knowledgeable, and the owners are friendly and accommodating. I love the selection of wines, and at times they have new ones and favorites that are exceptional. A new establishment, Flock Wine Bistro, open up right off McGregor and Cypress Lakes Drive toward the end of 2023. A quick browse at their web site, indicated that they serve wine with small plates in Italian cuisine. Immediately, an Italian aperitivo flashed in my mind! What is aperitivo? Simply put, an Italian tradition where a drink/light meal that take place at the conclusion of a work day and a warm up to the dinner. To me, this is always a challenge because, I don't want to eat twice during the evening. Aperitivo can be wine based or alcohol based. Since it is called Flock Wine Bistro, you can tell it is wine based aperitivo! When we walked in Flock, we felt comfortable and observed many tables with wines and small plates of food. The tables are situated such that you can carry a conversation and chat. This is a relaxed ambiance. Good! We order Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, and Cylcope Rossa beer to wet our appetize. The wine list offers wines from Sicily, Spain, Chile, Napa Valley, Argentina and beyond. We share a Bruschetta flight Board with five different bruschetta. They are not only look colorful but savory and refreshing as well. Wife ordered her Gnocchi Pistachio and Sausage. Gnocchi is cheesy, creamy and that Fennel sausage added that extra flavor! A plate of Spaghetti Carbonara is fine but little on the dry side. The star of the night, is a grilled octopus over a crunchy fried potato. The octopus is huge and you must cut them into small slices. We enjoyed every bite! A bowl of Mussel Sauté was ordered. The Prince Edward Island mussels were meaty and fine but not enough of white wine and garlic broth were in to infuse wine and garlic taste. This dish needs a little improvement! We round off our experience with a Tiramisu and Chocolate Hazelnut Cream cake. They were delightful. Every day, Flock has special that include a glass of wine and personal charcuterie board for $20 from 4-6 PM. For a birthday celebration wanted to make a reservation for 10. Unfortunately they already had a large group with a reservation. However I was told I could try a walk-in. It was the Italian night special menu charcuterie. We arrived a little before opening and they opened the doors for us. No we did not have a reservation, now only 8 persons. Very accommodating, putting tables together. A feast of meats, cheeses, bread, crackers, olives and different spreads. I thought about ordering one of the pinsas' happy I did not as the brought out small bites of the different pinsa offering, so I was able to taste most of the favorable flatbreads.
