Caveat: I am not from the area. We were looking for a place for lunch and all the umbrellas out front said "RUM RUNNERS!" I had heard of rum runner so we decided to stop in. I was confused when we walked up and the signs instead said Corksoakers. Regardless we had already been seated so we decided to stay. I didn't want anything too heavy for lunch so opted for the cobb salad. It was fine, but could have used more toppings - it was pretty lettuce heavy. Totally missed the mark on atmosphere. Bartender was over serving his loud friends that used 4 letter words in every sentence. Loud and obnoxious. Bartender refused to do anything about it. Fish and chips over here tasted better than most fish and chips I've had in NYC! We went here during lunch and we were able to be seated immediately inside. There were a lot of other groups eating here during the daytime which signals to me that this place either has great food and/or the service has been positive that customers would bring their family or friends here to eat together. This restaurant was recommended by my boyfriend's sister who works a few blocks away from here and I was excited to eat here after hearing so much positive feedback from her. The food and drinks were great and the one that stood out to me the most was the fish and chips. The batter was light and crispy which reminded me of Gordon Ramsey's fish and chips shop in Las Vegas. And the fish inside was still nice and fluffy which I appreciated since frying the outside crispy can sometimes dry out the fish inside. We arrived for lunch to this well located, fun looking place and it didn't disappoint. Service is top notch, very accommodating and overall nice. I always thought of this as a millennial bar and I i was mistaken. Ladies night, on Thursday nights is a fun night with friends. For $25 you get 2 drinks and a four course dinner- that is amazing. We were a party of six ( with reservations) and the place was packed when we arrived, but we were seated immediately. The inside was so loud it was hard to have a conversation. As our table was just outside the one person female bathroom there always seemed to be a line standing next to our table. We didn't see much of our server, but the kitchen brought our food out when it was ready. One of the ladies in our party had the chicken and noodles and she said it was excellent, and I must say it was a nice size portion and looked like it should go back again and try it for myself! I would definitely give the food 5 stars- but the noise level and missing server brought it to a 4. We all plan to go back during the summer months when it won't be so crowded. Came here tonight for ladies night and have been here a few times prior and everything was great. That was on the case tonight, the service at the bar was terrible. Asked for waters that were never given, was given attitude on more than one occasion over asking for desserts (after waiting over 20 minutes for them), asking for our check. Another issue that came up was a lipstick stain on my wine glass. We could also hear the servers and bartenders complaining about other patrons. While my first impression that this place was a bar with food, I was amazed at the extensive menu and just how good the food was! We arrived and while it was a busy night, we got a table pretty quickly. We ordered drinks and they were brought quickly. It was Ladies Night, and so the one "lady" with us ordered off that menu. Went on a Wednesday afternoon for early dinner and dancing in the street afterwards. Service was awful, waitress was so slow and bar tenders were extremelyrude. One person in our party waited 10 minutes for her meal after everyone else had been served. The waitresses couldn't remember what we had ordered and charged us for 2 specialty drinks instead of the beer my husband had. Had to wait over 1/2 hour for our checks. Later there were hundreds if people there and there was one 1 stall bathroom for both men and women so the lines were 20+ people long. I dont even want to think how many people went outside because the lines were so long. Yuck. The bar lines were equally as long. I ordered 2 ultras so I wouldn't have to go back. Went to open them and tops were filty so I poured some water on to try to clean them but they had a very strong fish smell so there was no way I was going to drink them. My husband went to the bar to exchange them and the extremely ride bartender told him he didn't get those there. He explained that I had gotten them. She angrily took them from him, threw them away and proceeded to charge him for 2 more. We've had so many good times in sw florida at so many different places but we will never go back to this place. 10 of us visited and had dinner here 1/8/25. First, the food and our server, Kyra, were great. The problem was with 1 individual who made our experience negative. An honest mistake was made with the bill in which the wrong charge card was used on a particular bill. Kyra attempted to correct it, but the man with the Univ of Michigan shirt who claims his name is Mike, rudely turned their mistake into our problem. His answer was that I pay the individual back for the amount that was charged to her card. We decided that the bill should be voided and recharged to the proper accounts. For whatever reason, they couldn't print a copy of the voided bill and Mike said it would appear back to account in 2 business days. ?? We asked that he write a note to confirm the voided transaction, which he refused to do. Then told us we need to return to the business to talk to the owner, who he wouldn't give this person's name. He then shrugged his shoulders and sarcastically told us, "I told you to just pay the individual what was charged to her card." They KNOW what they are doing at Cork Soakers. The food is always fantastic. I love sitting outside because all of it is covered. We went for ladies' night on Thursday. I will say the food is phenomenal but if you're starving you will probably need to order a small plate to split. It's great to have the tasting menu since you can try so many things, it's four courses and it includes 2 drinks (choices this night were wine or 2 cocktails). All of the food was amazing: Deviled eggs, empanada, chimichurri steak (one of the best ones I've had) and guava cheesecake. When I tell you I dream of this cheesecake, I'm not kidding. Started with a Mojito and realized it was so good I was going to need a second. Wife got a Moscow Mule. Hers was very good too, but she stopped at one since she was driving. Their menu has some different things on it, so be adventurous. We had the Deviled Egg appetizer. They were good. Wife got the redfish sandwich. I got the NY strip. It was a bit over cooked. I ordered it medium. I got it pretty much well done. It wasn't dried out and was still tender so I ate it. The fries were cut fresh I think. They were cooked once. They were soft and not crisp. I prefer a crisper fry Crème Brûlée for dessert was excellent. We ate outside. There is a bar outside. They sell some tee shirts inside. This restaurant is very good. I was in the area looking for a good place to have lunch and again... Yelp saved the day. After looking at some of the reviews we decided to give it a try. The place is decorated nicely and has an outdoor deck that is pretty big and there are lots of TVs and a bar. It is pretty straightforward... simple yet sophisticated in the food they serve. The menu is not too big but it truly has a little for everyone. I had the Tacos special of the day (pork belly) and it was perfectly cooked... crispy, saucy and filling. The seafood pasta from their regular menu was probably the best meal I have tried in a while. Lots of seafood, and the sauce was light and complex at the same time. Tomato basil soup was also perfect... creamy and very flavorful. This place is dog friendly and our waitress even brought the dog a bowl of water. Winner winner risotto dinner. We are trying to eat out when we can to help keep restaurants alive during this pandemic. A friend suggested Cork Soakers and boy are we glad he did. We phoned in our order and it was hot and ready when we got there. Good folks there. Kind of sad that their regular masses aren't taking out. Let's talk food. Their risotto is so good. The wife had their salmon risotto. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the risotto was creamy and smooth. So good. I had their Brie, bacon sandwich with fig jam. Delish. I wanted more Brie, because I had some bread only bites. Overall a good sandwich. My friend, who also had their risotto, only the shrimp version, was also quite happy. His wife, also sitting 6 feet away in our driveway, enjoyed the fish and chips. She reported a good dinner. My advice, eat here. I know it's a bar, and a hopping one at that I hear, but go for the food. Excellent. Where they lost a point is not only was the sandwich a bit "bread", but I thought $23 for the risotto was a bit on the high side for the portion you received.
