It smelled like straight bleach. The posted hours at the shops restaurants and pool were not adhered to, seems like they opened/closed wherever they felt like it. The casino is not 24/7. Only on weekends. It's not open until 8 am, they have the whole casino blocked off and every morning when we were leaving before 8 am they gave us a hard time when we wanted to leave the casino and walk to the parking structure to get our car. They literally argued w us about leaving trying to discourage us until I said, "You can't keep us here! We are leaving, so you better walk us out then." They acted really upset that they had to walk us through an empty casino/hotel to the parking. They failed to mention this upon check in. The only restaurant that was decent was the sports bar. We came here to enjoy the pool, restaurants and casino, paying a lot more than other places, and it was a terrible stay. We will never come back.

I literally wanted to take my breakfast from their bakery that I paid for outside to eat in the sunshine and was told the only place I could was the smoking benches in the parking lot. The spa pass was $75 per person and 90% of the extras were closed while we were there over the weekend. So we would be paying $75 per person to have access to one hot tub and be able to have food and drink outside. All the furniture was worn. Baseboards and walls were scratched and needed painted. The windows were so dirty we couldn't even take a picture of the view from our room.

The property itself is beautiful and expansive, sits on Tamayame land, and at the outset of the conference a member of the Native American tribe welcomed us and shared about the land and setting. The property has with multiple event spaces, an on-site trail, a large gym, and several pools. It is a fairly large resort (our room was at one end, so it was about a 7-10 minute walk to the main lobby area). Each day began with a large breakfast buffet, and lunch was similarly well done. One of the highlights was being able to sit outside during meals at large tables overlooking the grounds, mountains, trees, and fresh air made for a really peaceful setting. For breakfast, I enjoyed the red/green chilies chilaquiles (New Mexican style breakfast), it was very flavorful and I enjoyed trying but was very spicy/heavy. From a conference and events perspective, the resort is very impressive. There is a large main conference room with a stage, and the room can accommodate over 100 people (at round tables), along with many smaller breakout rooms. Over two evenings, we attended events at different venues on the property, one about a 10-minute walk away (with hotel mini-bus transportation available), and another closer to the main area under a tent. The more distant venue was quite large and set apart, likely used for weddings and larger celebrations. That evening included a buffet dinner, DJ, dancing, and multiple bar setups. The second evening closer to the main hotel was a seated dinner under a tent, with music and performances in a more contained setting. There is also a nice bar and restaurant in the lobby, as well as another more casual restaurant by the pool. Given time constraints, I was not able to fully take advantage of all the amenities (including the spa, horseback riding, and longer trail walks), but I would absolutely recommend this property. It is incredibly scenic, serene, and feels immersed in nature, and I would gladly return.

I should've asked for a refund. A couple of weeks previous I had locks cut on my trailer and around $5000 in personal property stolen while parked right under a security camera. Speaking to another gentleman in the parking lot he had his truck broken into twice recently while staying there. It was his last time too.

That said, there were some positives. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and we slept well. The restaurant food was genuinely excellent, and the customer service from the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Valet service was also inconvenient. You have to specifically request assistance, and luggage carts were not brought to the rooms, which was surprising considering the price point of the hotel. Overall, while the building itself has charm and the staff was kind, the experience simply did not justify the premium pricing.
