Ppl of course are the mainstay of any such operation so let me name my standouts: Lloyd (from San Felipe I believe) and Tyrone (from Santa Ana) were on top of everything. Polite and mindful, they were efficient and I thought it quite endearing, when Lloyd called out for food or items that needed replenished, he was so soft spoken and polite to his coworkers. This review is focusing on Legends Sports Grille inside the casino..... Husband & I went for breakfast and for me it was a disappointment. He's been a few times for lunch & liked it. First off, our server (Haley) moved very slow. We ordered water and it took quite a while. She brought water, then left. Took awhile for her to come take our order. We both ordered 2 Stack pancakes, mine with eggs, over medium on the side and sugar free syrup. It took quite a while for the food to come out, then she had forgotten syrup & butter. By time she returned with both my pancakes & eggs had cooled off. It wasn't very busy and it appeared she only had 2 other tables. My pancakes weren't very good, no fluffiness and crispy on the outside. Eggs were more hard than over medium. Husband only complained about her slowness and cold coffee (although he asked her to warm it up). When the bill arrived he asked her to use our $5 Food Credits, even asked us if we wanted to use points for the balance. We told her no, we'll pay difference. She ended up using points instead of food credit. Atmosphere was pleasant and it wasn't too cold or hot. This place isn't worth losing your money at. There are really good things that I like about the Santa Ana Casino but unfortunately, they don't outweigh the bad. As far as the casino portion goes, for the exception of Craps, they have to have the worst table games in the state of New Mexico. They're still using shuffling machines on the blackjack tables and you literally cannot win by playing straight up BlackJack. You always have to bet the bonus in order to come remotely close to possibly walking away with something. I feel like if there are going to be shuffling machines, at the very least, the higher limit should have some tables where they ONLY hand shuffle. read more

I have been here a couple times and this is by far one of the nicer casinos we have been to!! It is so clean!! The machines and tables are spaced out! I love that you can walk without bumping into something! Went to Quesadas, which I will be back. Been to Junipers which was amazing!! Top notch dining if looking for higher end. Amazed we actually got handicap parking which is usually full and far between at every other casino. Overall our favorite casino so far! Looking forward to exploring more! read more

The security team is horrible, never a time where I don't get carded, could never enjoy my time with security always lurking behind me, it's gotten so annoying ive tried to file a complaint for harassment not just on a individual, but the whole security team, as a hole. read more

Playing Craps. Both die need to hit back wall or they don't count the roll. As if the shooter can control the outcome if dice only travel 90% down the table. 90% of rolls hit the back wall, but die can be like a football punted. Die may bounce away from back wall. My 2nd fave casino in ABQ! Love the vibe here. The dealers and guests are all very chill but don't get in the way of any grandma making her way to her favorite slot machine! You'll be ran over for sure! They've got it all here! Really like their Sportsbook and Sportsbar. Good, reasonably priced food. Husband loves any of the Blackjack tables. Doesn't feel as loud or chaotic as Isleta, where I am easily overstimulated on any given weekend. Great food options, from a fancy steakhouse to the cantina comedy club or fast service food options. Great place! Chill vibe. TV's galore! While the carpet could use an overhaul, it doesn't reek of cigarette smoke and is just a great place to spend a Saturday afternoon! read more

The dealers at the black jack tables were very nice. I am a beginner at Black Jack and I did not feel intimidated. We were disappointed that there was only one of the restaurants open but the food was ok. It seemed strange to only be allowed to drink alcohol in a designated area. The casino is clean and well decorated. The Staff very friendly. We got checked in quickly. The casino area is also clean. I was just there for one night visiting a few friends and the room was great. Good view. It had all the essentials there. Strange enough, I couldn't find the iron in the room. The Juniper steakhouse was good. They close at 9 pm so be prepared and plan your day accordingly. They have large spaces for big parties. Great fireplace. Downside , they can't customize your drinks like normal bars can. They have a lot of pre-mixed items, so be aware of that. The Ahi tuna appetizer was good. I think they could've cut the Ahi little bit thinner, but still delicious. The must have is the side order of hatch chili mac & cheese It is a full blown meal all into its own. It was delicious!! Steak and mashed potatoes were delicious , according to my friends I went will. The waitress Karen was fun and friendly even though we were there well past 10 o'clock. They have an indoor outdoor pool which is great but warning you need to have a wristband in order to go in and out of the pool and they have an attendant that will watch as you go in and out and they will make you wear the wristband. You can't just hold it. You have to wear it. At least , that was the approach of the attendant when I was there. I will definitely go back and stay longer. read more

A nice place to have a conference (the ballrooms are nice). There's security at the door and parking is easy. Of course, there's free sodas and coffee. There's the Stage, the steakhouse, and plenty of and used to come bowling here. The food court has reasonable prices and has everything from fancy coffee, Navajo tacos, burgers, and Chinese. I was glad to hear the star was back open. With everything going on it's nice to see this place up and running again. Of course with COVID it's not the same star we have come to remember. They really up'd their game to take on the necessary precautions to make sure it's a safe environment. One of the first things you'll notice is at all entrances guests are required to go through a temperature screening process as well as required to sign a liability waiver before granted entry. I like to read the fine print so I'm fully aware of what I am agreeing. The last thing I need is to find out later they are taking my first born child because I didn't thoroughly read the agreement. The waiver basically says that you are entering of your own free will and in good health overall and that the casino is not liable should you or any other guest contract COVID-19 and that you waive the right to sue them. Just wanted to point that out so your aware of what your getting into by signing the waiver. The staff was very friendly even with my meticulous time consumption reading the waiver before swiping my drivers license which is your electronic signature on the document. The staff was wearing masks and gloves taking all necessary precautions. They now have designated beverage stations throughout the casino where a staff member wearing a mask and gloves serves your choice of beverage. Throughout the the casino there are also open sinks deemed hand washing stations where you can wash you hands. I found it quite strange but also reassuring that you can wash your hands more often without running to the bathroom or searching for hand sanitizer. The casino floor is now divided by a yellow chain hanging from from spokes which act as like a fence. There are certain entry and exit points in each section. The casino has done an excellent job at spacing the machines apart and utilizing plexiglass to separate individuals to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. I have to they have done a far better job at this than Route 66 and Isleta. I'm quite impressed at the way the casino stepped up and took the time to really make it as safe an environment as possible. They are requiring guest to wear masks at all times and offering masks to guest who don't have one before entry. These guys really thought it out and have excelled far better at this than the other casinos in town so good job Santa Ana! Well see you next time I'm in the area. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights and I will explain my rating. The pros: Adequate and safe parking. The room was nice, comfy beds, nice large shower, TV, mini fridge, Keurig coffee and a safe in the room. The casino floor was spacious, clean, restrooms cleaned, food court had good food and the cost is cheap compared to eating out. The cons: the ID, temps checks every time you walk in is ridiculous (we don't do this in Oklahoma). Some the staff were rude and others were friendly and helpful. A big surprise is YOU CAN NOT BRIGNG ANY ALCOHOL into YOUR ROOM! SMH. Really.? The pool area is nice with 2 hot tubs however the security I assume was creep kept starring at us (the wife) and didn't allow kids to be kids. The floor machines didn't hit as much from the sounds of the machines. We stayed only because our rooms was comp to us. I wouldn't stay here until those concerns were addressed read more

Hotel complaint -bowling reservation late chk-in was denied had to speak with manager -disrespectful employees made comments about not seeing signs posted about food in bowling area -during swimming time employee kept harassing us about kids being in hot tub -was told we could not take towels from swimming area to room otherwise would be charged $20 each towel. -while in casino area security approached from behind in an intrusive manner and asked to search diaper bag unprofessional approach on security behalf questioned about her age to get into the gym and giving her the ID but her still not believing being 24 and when didn't respond right away she was thinking that was dodging the question and she says how come you keep changing your date of birth I just said I was in my 20s but she didn't give her like the specific number in her 20s and the lady was being very intrusive and the security guy, laughing or chuckling when we mentioned talking to the governor. read more

Sorry guys, but this is the weirdest hotel I've ever stayed in. First, you cannot bring your own bottle of wine into your own hotel room which is really odd. You have to walk through a security check EVERY time you walk into the hotel. You need a key card to operate the elevator which only worked sporadically. The service in the one bar onsite available was sad. You can't take your drink onto the gaming floor - wut? The rooms are quite nice though - clean and comfortable. There are so many one armed bandits to temp you to make a deposit here, and rarely make a withdrawal! The place is clean and well maintained. The food court is brightly lit, and does not need to be so bright, after coming in from the darkened casino. The foods are all well prepared and the portions are large and well priced. The daily special, such as the lasagna, is delicious. I really like the choices in the Chinese food selections. The Juniper Steak House is always a good choice for special occasions. The restaurant you have in the sports betting area is trash. For five bucks more I'd rather support a local restaurant in Bernalillo. Yall need to hire some better people. Played a lot of slots all over the country and in foreign lands but never have I experienced tighter slot machines. Don't waste your time or money playing slots at this casino play card games or dice. On a Saturday the few people playing slots are very depressed and when a small pot is won they announced it on a casino loudspeaker. This casino is definitely one of my favorites in the area to go to. I love the inside and modern designs of the hotels. Their food can be ok at best but the atmosphere makes up for it. The staff is always super nice and helpful. I really like how they have a bowling alley as well, which sets it apart from other casinos/hotels. The main reason I wanted to write this review is because my uncle won over 20 grand within 3 hrs here. Jackpots and money were rising every hour, which tells you the machines are not bs. Excellent Room and good Food, as well as a Casino I'd love to give this Hotel-Casino 5 stars, but one bellhop lost them a star for being a jerk. Be careful of a hotels.com deal - get it exactly correct or you'll pay a 'you made an error' fine. (And regardless, hotels.com sells only non-refundable bookings.) Our check-in was fairly uneventful and did not require a temperature taken. Entering the premises does require your photo taken, as you pose, after showing your identification, just as you enter the hotel lobby. No mask required as of mid-April 2022. The evening bellhop allowed us to load and move one of their big hanger carts to our room. The morning bellhop said "We can't just let you use it." Is it hotel policy? Maybe. Very nice room! Probably the best deal in Bernalillo or Albuquerque. We heard just one hallway door close over our entire stay. Just no noise to speak of. They have a food court, not too classy. Still, many types of food served, not bad, and medium pricey. They also have the Juniper, a classy restaurant, as well as "Lounge 54" for your alcohol needs. The casino is about an acre, mostly underground, mostly new-fangled slot machines but also blackjack, craps, roulette. Not Vegas, but good for what it is and, like I said, Huge. The best part of Santa Ana Star, imo, is the great deal for a better-than-most room. And, if you are so inclined, you may get lucky and win a grand or two. Check it out! read more

Resort was beautiful. Staff was very kind and professional. The pool and pool area was wonderful! 5 day stay we were notified immediately that they do not clean rooms daily and we needed to call if we needed anything which we did call and never got the item. Only 1 elevator was in service for a couple days. But my biggest complaint and would keep me from staying there again is their slamming doors. *Warning to midgets* Went to check out the place for the first time and brought our 9 month old son. As we walked in, there is a very clear sign that says, "Anybody 21 and under needs to be accomodated by an adult." We were "near" the roulette table that my mom was playing at and immediately got reprimanded for having a "little person," in the casino and were told to leave. There was never a sign that said "little people" were not allowed. But apparently should be incorporated into this discriminatory place. Stopped by this beautiful casino as we are traveling back to California. Inside, you couldn't ask for anything more luxurious and amazing. First thing we did was stop by the Lucky Dragon Chinese food place in the food court. I hate to bash them but the chicken, beef, noodles and orange chicken wasn't all that great. Could it be that because we are from California, we have access to many Chinese restaurants that offer delicious Chinese food, much better than this place?? Not only did I feel this way, but the wife was in agreement. I wish the good people of Alberquerque, New Mexico could taste what incredible Chinese food taste like in California. The staff is nice and helpful. The food at the NEW food court is horrible. We tried a few items from the 3 places they had open, none of it was good. Santa Ana used to have this incredible seafood buffet, granted the food was never 5 stars but was delicious and offered variety. The other little Mexican restaurant was closed. Not very many places to dine from right now. Huge disappointment. The casino, my parents go regularly, I have gone some (pre-Covid) and not once have I seen a hand pay. The casino is meh, lots of games, but no payouts. Final result.. went home down $200 plus the horrible food. Slots, Food, Bowling, Drinks... a really great time! The casino - lots of fun, new games, a big non-smoking room, new and clean bathrooms (with a little ledge in the stall for my purse... yay!) and everyone so friendly and happy. The food - with a few choices: the buffet, Sadie's and a cute little grill we finally decided on Mesa Grill. It was not only super affordable but really good! I got a green chile burger combo with fries and a drink for $5 and the burger was bigger than I expected and I had the fries smothered with green chile and cheese... mmm! We waited a little bit but it was worth it. (Side note: had I known there was a grill in the bowling center we would have probably eaten there.) The bowling - Glow-in-the-dark everything, music videos, a little arcade in the back and the bar was open. I'm a terrible bowler but I still had fun. The drinks - The Stage nightclub had comedy night which we had already pretty much missed so we went into Lounge 54 for some laughs before heading home. Overall, a really fun time with friends. A casino that has a lot to offer! Not too big, not too small, but just right! It has three great restaurants that meet your occasion, another with a great buffet and a smaller deli in the nonsmoking section. On top of it, they have a bowling alley! The night club isnt that popular but it's a great venue when they have comedy shows or events. Their new addition of their beautiful hotel helped put the final touches on this casino and made it more competitive against all the other casinos in town. I have yet to stay at the new hotel but I hope to some day and give them that final star rating next time! read more
