Un robo con tostadas prehistóricas y un shuko momificado Decidí probar Palacio Latino Restaurant & Bakery porque escuché buenas cosas, pero creo que entré a un universo alterno donde todo es al revés. Desde que llegué, el servicio fue más lento que una tortuga con sueño. Pedí unas tostadas y un shuko. ERROR. Las tostadas tardaron tanto en llegar que empecé a cuestionar si las estaban cultivando desde cero. Cuando finalmente aparecieron, ya no tenía hambre... solo tristeza y frustración. Y el shuko... madre mía. Parecía haber sido sacado de una cápsula del tiempo de hace 20 años. El pan estaba tan seco que podría haber servido como ladrillo en una construcción, y la salchicha tenía una vibra tan misteriosa que me hizo reconsiderar mis decisiones de vida. El ambiente no ayudó en nada. La música estaba a todo volumen, como si estuviera en una fiesta a la que nadie me invitó, lo que hizo aún más difícil tratar de ignorar la mala comida. Por si fuera poco, los precios son un chiste. El propietario parece más maduro que los ingredientes que usa, porque cada vez le sube más a los precios como si estuviera vendiendo oro en vez de comida. Al ritmo que va, pronto van a cobrar por respirar dentro del restaurante. Definitivamente, no vuelvo. Very nice restaurant! I like the murals from the outside and inside. It is very spacious inside. The biggest table they have can sit up to 10 people, so great for family dinners. Our waiter was Carlos and he had the best patience while he took my family and I's order. He was also enthusiastic and always checked in on us during our meal. Their atol de elote and arroz con leche must be popular because we were able to get just one cup of atol de elote. It was delicious though. I pictured the dish I got and it was delicious too! The shrimp, onion, steak, avocado, and everything else was good! I give 4 stars because the place was cold. But I would come to eat there again! Great service. They also sell pan de Guatemala, chips from Guate, and candies too. The merch store is a good touch too to the theme: shirts, dresses, keychains, dolls, scarves, and jewelry. The restaurant, as soon as you walk in, feels nice and spacious. However, pretty spiky prices for drinks, $8 each for "Bebidas Natural Grande". With a service charge for having a party of 8, where I personally didn't order any food, this place almost deserves a second chance because of how it looks and it's complimentary, semi-burnt, tostadas that look pretty. The food was good, according to my party. They enjoyed the platanos and steak. They do not split checks however and claim it is because it backs up the kitchen, despite there being only one other party at this restaurant tonight at that moment of ordering. Later we came to realize that they might not split checks into 2 because of the service charge issue that is mandated by California for parties of 8 or more. Had we known, things would have been different today. read more

Came here on a Sunday, struggled to order or communicate as no one staffed could accommodate non spanish speakers. Pointed to my item and payed, a breakfast torta. Food tasted full of flavor and was delicious, the coffee was not special. Wont be going back because of the communication barrier, but would recommend to those who would not have the same issue. read more

Love this restaurant since they where in San Francisco. I would drive down there from Richmond and eat. Got sad when I saw they closed but I found out they back in business and now much closer. I moved and it takes me 45 minutes to get there but the drive is worth it! Owners are really kind. Me encanta este restaurante desde que estaban en San Francisco. I just want to give a shout out to this place for their tamales de pollo. It is so tasty and juicy, not dry. This reminds of the Filipino tamales and this is so different from mexican tamales. Ill be coming back for more. They also have such tasty juices like guayabana. I also heard that this place does fundraising to help people affected by the volcano in Guatemala. This Guatemalan Restaurant has moved from its former location on 23rd Street to 13993 San Pablo Avenue in San Pablo. The outside of the restaurant is decorated with large murals and is continued inside with the large room circled by paintings. Come hungry as the meals are filling with the tortillas being thicker than those served in Mexican restaurants. Breakfast is served all day. In addition there are many lunch and dinner meals. We went for lunch on Sunday and the restaurant was very busy with many families enjoying the substantial meals at reasonable prices. The staff was helpful in answering our questions about unfamiliar dishes and helping us determine which dishes were gluten free. They also bought samples of unfamiliar drinks. There is also a to-go bakery and a counter selling shirts for favorite sports teams. I will definitely return and looking forward to trying other menu items. read more

This place sucks.Not only was the horchata overpriced but my family had to pay over 30$ of tips! And over 230$ for the meal. The food wasnt even that good.The beans that they served my mom tasted burnt! My family and I had to wait a VERY long time for our food to arrive meanwhile other people were getting their food within 35 minutes of their arrival. The bathrooms were disgusting and looked as though they had not been cleaned. The bathrooms smelled disgusting which caused the entrance to stink. The air in the bathroom was toxic and the employees did not care! Bad customer service. The waiter that was attending our table did not show any interest in serving our table. I do not think this place is sanitary. And the food is way overpriced. The food is not as good as these reviews say it is. And the customer service is not as great as everyone is saying. They charged us over 30$ of tips which I personally think they shouldn't of done. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you are trying to spend a whole lot of money on a meal that doesn't meet your expectations.My family and I could've enjoyed a bigger and better meal for 230$ at some other Guatemalan restaurant this place is totally not worth eating at. I am very upset , this restaurant should not be in business the customer service is horrible and the place reeks of feces which makes the food taste disgusting.The meals they serve could be cooked and served better at some other Guatemalan restaurant. The restaurant and Bakery is straightforward, welcoming, and just a great place to eat. This time I had the huevos rancheros and it was delicious! I think that everything is HOME MADE, and it sure tastes like they put their heart into making the food. Also, the coffee was good too. Just plain, regular coffee, that does not need sugar or cream. If you appreciate different flavor and look in latino food, this is the most different flavor and look food you will find. Guatemalan food is not fast food. Each dish takes time. If you are in a hurry, this is not you choice. I'm Guatemalan and went there for lunch at my lunch hour. I was almost late going back to work, and I asked for their fast food choice. A dish you typically find in street vendors stands. I had gone before around their opening. They were trying to make it more US style with "wait to be seated" lines... huge mistake! The Guatemalan patrons are not used to that and they kept just going in and finding their tables like they do in the mother land. The flavors are real Guatemalan. Atoles just like the country. Mine even had a fly to be very real the choices good. The courtesy good too! But you have to wait a lot!
