    Bread

This place can be pretty and all that but I paid 13 dollars for this microscopic bread! I'm not gonna pay again more then 14 dollar for 4 conchitas and a bag of polborones this irs crazy because I remember in the beginning the bread was normal size! Las Montañas at least the bread it's big. I will never buy bread anymore there!

The bakery items all taste great. I have gone a few times to sample several items. They also recently started baking a pan dulce called pico which is hard to find anywhere. It's also hard to find a tasty version of it that's not dry. They do an amazing job at preserving the flavors and highlighting the ingredients in their baked. The staff is always friendly. The interior is clean and well lit with plenty of seating. Parking isn't an issue because they have their own parking lot. I have never eaten there, but I plan to and will update my review when I do.

Universal Bakery currently serves three locations: San Bruno & San Francisco (2). The menu is simple, yet the food is delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. I ordered the pan con todo (includes: black beans, eggs, cheese, and sour cream, served on freshly, prepared in-house french roll). In addition, I ordered the pan con todo y longaniza (includes: Guatemalan sausage, eggs, black beans, cheese, creama on freshly, prepared in-house french roll) & pan con todo y asada (carna asada, eggs, black beans, cheese, and creama on freshly, prepared in-house french roll). Upon my arrival and departure, I picked up some freshly baked goodies. Needless to say, I enjoyed every bite with my girlfriend. She loved them too! Thank you Universal Bakery for incredibly tasty food. We will return soon :) Photos attached to the review highlights the amazing delicacies and baked goods prepared by this fine establishment.

We dug right in, but here's the refried beans and scrambled egg breakfast. Those tortillas are the bomb!!

Casual breakfast with my boys, we stopped by and ordered off the Spanish/English menu. Both boys are taking Spanish and weee encouraged to order in Spanish. The waitperson was great and very patient. The food was fun. I ordered the egg and bean plate which came with corn tortillas that were off the hook - thick and soft. The plate had a healthy scoop of black refried beans, eggs, cojita cheese and crema. We also had a sausage and egg scramble and a chicken sandwich on a soft roll that was eaten very quickly! The food was great and felt like comfort cuisine. I'm eager to try some of their other dishes.

I loooved this place! First of all fresh baked bread just the best!!! Food is soooo good, I had a Pan con todo and didn't disappoint at all (no picture because I ate it so quick)! And the service is amazing! I will definitely come back so many times!! Oh also they have a huge parking lot so you don't have to worry about looking for parking in the street.

Food is always delicious and fresh. Every time I try something new it becomes my new favorite. But my favorite plate is the revuelto con chorizo. Service is always 5 stars, never a rude or short staff member. Friendly staff, always attentive and quick. Ambiance is bright, clean, modern. I like the set up to this location - San Pablo/Richmond (locations also in the Mission and Daly City). It's open, modern and lots of natural light. It has private parking and street parking as well.

I am so disappointed at the food changes and feeling bad to give a bad review as I love supporting small businesses and love Salvadorean food. There's a lot of room to improve. I've been eating Salvi food since I was child. If you order to go check before you leave. I had an item missing. I called and was able to get a refund. She handled it nice too since she forgot to add it. I took food to go. I added pictures on all. The tamales both chipilin and pork were good. The masa was excellent. The size was small to medium. The pupusas are tiny, they are good but nothing extraordinary. As they are small there's no cheese stretch or a good feel about the filling. The masa is good. The quesadilla pasty was crumbly, it did not feel fresh. It was dry with no flavor compared to ones I've eaten before. The best Salvi quesadillas are moist. The guava, pineapple, and custard empanada pastry were small. The pineapple one did not feel fresh, more on the dry side, crumbly compared to other flavors. The pork empanada was probably the worst. They were tiny with hardly any filling. The empanadas usually have a ground meat or shredded chicken. This one had pieces of pork so it was not flavorful at all. There's table seating indoors and outdoors. The yucca con chicharron was okay too. Usually it comes with a salad like but this one came with 1 beet, 1 slice of tomato and 1 slice of cucumber with a small bag of curtido. No sauce. Tip: The server gave me a business card and recommended to call for orders to go as the waiting time was 30 minutes. I did not mind waiting. I appreciated her sharing this. Tip: recommend the pork tamal. The pupusas if hungry get at least 3.

It was more than enough food but we just couldn't stop eating because of how delicious it was! The sweet corn tamale was like a dessert, but paired with the tang and salt of the sour cream and cotija cheese it became a refreshing sweet and salty bite. It was a traditional corn dough and the texture was insanely soft, unlike most of the dry tamales I have had before. The pache tamale was truly the star. I had no idea what I was ordering, but I'm so glad that I managed to get this item in my order. The masa is made with potatoes instead of corn which gives it a smooth and melt in your mouth texture and a savory, addictive flavor. The pork inside is juicy and tender. Each bite is complete with the tangy pickled onions. The chuchitos were like the traditional Mexican tamales I am used to, with corn masa and stuffed with flavor and juicy chicken. The tamales are doused in a delectable red sauce and topped with cotija, sour cream, and more pickled onions. They were delightful. The garnachas were definitely the other star of this order. I had never had tostadas like them before, with flavorful and juicy chopped meat, salsa, and cotija. They are served with pickled veggies to add spice and tang, but what surprised me the most was the sautéed cabbage placed on top of each garnacha. The cabbage was so flavorful and soft, and despite all of the other sources of flavor it made itself known. The chile relleno plato was unlike what I am used to. Often, the chile rellenos my family eats are poblano peppers stuffed with oaxacan cheese, these were not that at all. In a way, this dish resembled more of a stuffed bell pepper, with a red pepper filled with chopped meat and veggies. I did get a piece of cartilage which made me a little wary when taking a bite but it was so delicious I couldn't help myself. The black beans it came with were flavorful and the dressing of the salad was amazing and reminiscent of a green goddess dressing. The service was amazing. The people were sweet and accommodating. I also really enjoyed the ambience even though I did order pick up. There are murals and bright colors lining all of the walls, giving the place a welcoming and fun vibe. Overall, with the amazing food, sweet faculty, and beautiful setting, it is impossible to go to this place and not feel an immediate lift in mood.

When we walked in, no staff was out front, so we stood around a bit before we were seated. The staff quickly disappeared again, and throughout our meal, they were usually disappeared somewhere in the back. If you want something quick like extra utensils or napkins, you may need to wait a bit before someone appears. When ordering, we wanted to try both the Beef Buzz ($14.99) and the Fried Beef Buzz ($15.99). The lady who took our order said they were the same thing, and offered to just give us one half/half order instead of ordering two of essentially the same dish. We agreed to that offer, but she didn't mention anything about how that'll be charged. Of course, we ended up being charged the higher price of $15.99. Not a huge deal, but some better communication there would've been appreciated. We also ordered the Beef Huushuur ($14.99). The Beef Huuchuur arrived first, and it didn't look anything like we expected. The photos from online reviews all looked it'd come in an empanada shape, but it actually came in a large, flat, circular shape. They were all laying against one another in a slanted position, and it made all the oil pool in the bottom of the dish, and the pieces that were covered became very oily and soggy underneath. The parts of the dough that weren't soggy were wonderfully crispy and delicious though. It'd make a significantly better difference if the Huuchuur were placed spread out from each other instead of lying on top of each other to maintain the crispiness on all surfaces. The beef filling was nicely seasoned and well flavored. The Beef Buzz had essentially the same filling as the Huuchuur, but different exterior. Unfortunately, I still have the same opinions of it being way too oily overall. The non-fried pieces sometimes broke apart at the bottom due to the sogginess. The fried version did not have a crispy texture at the bottom either, I'm guessing due to the excess amount of oil on the dish. Again, the flavors were great, but execution and presentation definitely has room for improvement. In summary, this was a great introduction to Mongolian dumplings for me. Very delicious flavors, and I'd love to try Huuchuurs again in the future because I love crispy fried foods with a good texture. However, I'd probably look for a place that goes way more easy on the oil.
