    Cuban Sandwich

My husband took me to the most adorable Cuban café today! Everything about it was simply wonderful. The hot café con leche we shared was the best I've ever had. We shared the Cuban sandwich and I would recommend putting extra mustard on each bite, which made it taste super authentic + delicious! The environment was adorable and on the way out I saw there were signs on the wall that it won the 2026 Best of St. Augustine Community Choice Awards. I highly recommend going out of your way to pop in here... a very happy place!

It's a cute little place. The food is bad we ordered a media noche, Cuban pizza personal, cafe, and sugared horn. The food was not good. When my pizza came out completely undercooked soggy and cold. When I bought it to their attention the cashier took it back and toasted the same pizza that I had taken a bite of. My husband media noche was thin with almost no filling. It was $17 no side. The food is expensive.

I see why the reviews are absolutely stellar for Paladar Cuban Eatery. This place absolutely rocks. The interior is such a vibe. Great music playing throughout. The decor is so thoughtful, even down to little table side fresh flowers. They have a nice covered patio dining area as well. But can we talk about the food? I tried out a Cubano and a guava and cheese pastry. The Cubano actually had sliced of roast pork which is very different than the pulled pork you get served at most places. It's up there with some of the best Cubanos I've have in Tampa. But wait a minute. Their guava cheese pastry? Literally the best I've had in my life. Literally. Not an exaggeration. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu and more of their delicious pastries. What a gem of a place. Great people. Great food. Great vibes. 10/10.

That didn't take long for us to return. This time it was coffee and pastries. Not sure how to navigate the "Cuban Coffee" choices? No problem, they had a brief chart next to where you order that helps you out. I chose the Cortadito, husband had the classic Cafe Cubano and son went Cafe Con Leche. Delicious! We chose to enjoy them on the outside patio where the breezy morning made for a perfect setting. Lots of lush plants and a water feature outside, help you relax into the moment. Of course, I tried some pastries, Guava Pastelitos. Very buttery flaky crust with the right amount of Guava, enough to taste but not so much it gets messy. Husband had the cinnamon roll and it was great also. Very tender roll, with a good amount of cinnamon! YUM! My only regret is I can't raise my rating of 5 stars from the first visit. Exceptional!

One of the few Cuban coffee shops in St. Augustine (historical downtown district). Owned and operated by real Cubans. They have pastries and sandwiches and all kinds of Cuban bakery food. Service is phenomenal. Ambiance is laid back. Very easy to order. Outside seating available. Great Cuban coffee. Highly recommend.

Our friend in Saint Augustine lives on a 6-minute walk from this place and it's a GEM. Yes, busy but that's to be expected. Our Frita Cubana was awesome! Flavor, texture, all there. The rice bowl was OK, not like the ones we enjoy in California though... Coffee? The bomb! Both bombon and cortadito were amazing and a great match with the cheesecake. As mentioned, a busy place but very cozy and super friendly personnel. 9/10 but 10/10 when the rice bowl gets a bit more of a punch.

Cuban sandwich! Oustanding! Plenty of meat, generous portion!

Pal Adar is a great place to stop for lunch in St. Augustine. The staff are very friendly, and greet you with a smile and a welcome! They have a myriad of choices in regard to sweet baked goods like cinnamon rolls, and stellar lunch favorites like Cuban sandwiches. The place was decked out in festive Christmas style, and has a nice area to sit down and enjoy your food. Today, I got the Cuban sandwich, which amass off the charts! Excellent blend of meat and cheese, combined with the pickles and the bite of the mustard! Go here if you are hungry! You will not be disappointed! Great for in store, or to go ordering!

What a cute little place! The atmosphere was very welcoming, and the food was delicious. We shared a Frita Cubana and El Cubano (standard Cubano sandwich), as well as a slice of Key Lime Pie. The flavors in the Frita Cubana meat were amazing, and the crispy shoestring topping added tasty texture ...amazing!

Love love love the decor. Friendly service and delicious food! We sat outside on the small patio and enjoyed Cuban sandwiches, friend plantains and yuca. I got a cafe con leche to go and the chocolate mousse. If I lived here I would definitely be a regular customer!

We just had a great dinner. Authentic Cuban food, amazing service. The food was delicious and the portions like in true Cuban style were very generous. We're Cuban Americans and we absolutely loved this place. We will be back when we return to St.Augustine. Everyone was very nice, and Laritza was very sweet and welcoming.

First time coming here today. Not really a lot of Cuban food spots in Palm coast so if you wanna drive go saint Augustine this is worth the drive. The bistec was ok personally we liked the sandwiches more. The yuca fries and plantains were so good and flavorful and perfectly cooked. The service was the best part everyone so nice and helpful. I even got a pastries to go, I would choose the guava over the cheese. The cheese wasn't the best not like Miami. Still over all good food and great service.

Rum Cake a la mode with candied pecans and caramel sauce. Amazing!!

Hubby and I had an errand to run down in the area on Tuesday and despite liking many other restaurants in the area, I suggested we give the Columbia another try after 6 months of staying away. Miserable failure! The ladies at the hostess stand were great in helping us with the new parking app but that's where the wheels came off. Sabrina took a bit to acknowledge us and was the slowest server I have ever had in my life. She disappeared for almost 30 minutes. We had empty drinks, no salad, my entree of soup came before the salad and appetizers and when we finally found another server to get her, she said the kitchen ticket system was broken. Two hours for a lunch meal of salad, an appetizer, a cup of soup and a sandwich. Thank goodness I stocked up on the sangria mix on my last visit as I think I'm done. They need to get the service and customer experience back to what the family has touted. I will say if you can get your food and service, it's authentic Cuban cuisine and the bread and salad alone are worth a visit.

Again went inside, waited for the front desk server to process several orders before I could ask about the status of the drink. Nothing had been made, so another five minutes for the drink order. By this time I was plenty hungry, and was disappointed with the Cuban sandwich. It's basically a toasted ham sandwich, nothing particularly unique about it. Given the hassles just getting the meal entailed, not a great experience.

The server did not immediately know but asked someone before that person went inside the kitchen to inquire. It has been over a week since being there but I recall the fresh brewed Iced Tea had a subtle flavor to it. I rate that Iced Tea as good. Server advised this is an Argentinian restaurant and the literature states it is a fire grilled restaurant. Some of the items, like The Trio (of meats) even come with a salad. I had the soup of the Day a spicy tomato soup as well as The Cuban sandwich. The meats on their Cuban included Chorizo sausage and out of this world pickles! Who knew pickles could be so good? Overall, my opinion is I missed mustard and real Cuban Bread being a part of this dish. My friend had "The Trio" but barely ate the salad it came with as "The Trio" portion is huge. I likr how this Argentinian themed restaurant utilizes the local St. Augustine datil pepper as a constant seasoning in 8ts soup and throughout other dishes for amazing flavor. Your taste buds will gain a memorable experience while dining overlooking the San Sebastian River. Another Asado Life is located at the Jackdonville, FL port I have read. I look forward to having the entire menu here. Desserts are also plentiful.

On to the negatives - the hostess stand and or management is disorganized. Came up at 8:20 and asked for a table of 4. We inquired about an over water tiki hut and were told they stop seating those at 8pm because it gets dark. That's fine. Was told a 45 min wait, we agreed to join the list through yelp. We asked for first available, indoor or outdoor. On the plus side, the wait ended up being closer to 30 mins. However, there were tons of free tables the entire time we waited. Tiki huts were empty. The whole inside only had 2 tables sat. We asked to see a menu while we waited and got an audible sigh and eye roll. When our table was called, the hostess called 4 other groups at the same exact time, leading to a lot of confusion. As we are sitting and eating (it's now 9:30) a couple walks in. They're led to a table on the patio and asks to go into a tiki hut instead, which they are promptly sat in after they clean it off. So we asked our waitress, what's the deal! She said oh just ask the hostess and they can put you on the list for those huts. So not sure what happened.
