From the greeting at the door, to the chef-delivered yumminess that followed, Caribbean & Soule is not to be missed. Ox tails...typical fall of the bone presentation, but the gravy/roasting sauce was a complex combination of ridiculously good flavors. It took me less than a minute to ditch the fork and knife attack and go hands-on. A side of the sauce was included, which made for a perfect dousing for the delicious dirty rice and beans. Fried plantains, done perfectly...firm and not gooey, made the plate lick-able. Worth every penny, and a "do not miss" if you're in the area. She apologized for being short staffed and out of several menu items ... pretty much everything I wanted to eat. In spite of that, there was not a long wait for the food. We ate a veggie plate and jerk pork plate. The jerk was a little too spicy for my lunch guest and a bit fatty. My veggies were tasty and portions were hearty. There were a couple of dine in and take out customers while we were there. There is no outside seating. There are booths and bar seating. The venue and bathrooms were clean. Did their crab cakes with a side of beans & rice (yummy) and the shrimp curry was home made, and the collard greens stellar. The Coco bread was not bad, fresh, and also high-carb. That's probably the fun of it! We were the only ones there on a Wednesday evening but the food took a half an hour-- we weren't in a hurry. It also means it was all done fresh, from good ingredients. The two sources of audio, one from the TV and one from a reggae music source, was a bit distracting. It's a clean and friendly place, and the chef makes his own hot sauce which is very very good (you must like it hot, but it's not unforgivably hot). My sister and I dropped in on a whim and are so glad we did. She had the oxtail, I had the jerk shrimp. We also had okra, mac & cheese,plantains,and dumplings. I took a bite of my shrimp, put my fork down and slapped the table. Without a doubt, the best jerk ever. The oxtail was so flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth. They are open again! This charming restaurant was closed for a time and I missed the fabulous ox tail and rice and peas! It has reopened under new management and they have retained at least one of their cheerful helpful servers. The place has been remodeled. New floor and comfortable booths. The food is still the best for miles and the prices are affordable. We stopped in for lunch yesterday and I ordered the oxtail and my wife the curry chicken. We had a meat patty as an appetizer which my wife thought too sweet but I enjoyed it after adding some of the homemade hot sauce which was fantastic! To our surprise they had run out of chicken curry but it was worth the wait! They discounted or bill by ten percent for our trouble! My husband said his collard greens were cold & the Mac & cheese was good but, wasn't temperature hot either. Now I believe I order curry goat with sweet corn and I mean the corn was sweet, atleast smelled sweet yet the taste wasn't expected. Still good though, I just can't recall the seasoning although I'm familiar with it. The goat did not have curry on it at all, yet it was very tender and that was a good thing. I only had one piece that was gamy and I don't want to taste that at all. For 10 dollars I can't trip but I will mention a Haitian restaurant I ate out at in Las Vegas... Now they can cook!! This was my first time going to Caribbean & Soule Restaurant. I'm always on a search for good Jamaican food being that I'm from Jamaica. Now on to the review. Upon entering the establishment the vibe was there so I immediately got excited. The place was empty, just my wife and I and the two people that I assumed worked there. The person behind the counter handed us a menu. my wife and I glanced over the menu real quick because we already knew what we wanted. my wife asked for soup and I got jerk chicken, rice and peas, plantain. Those are the foods we use to see if a Jamaican/ Caribbean spot is going to be good. The soup was delicious I would get it again. the Jerk chicken "was not" jerk chicken, it was baked chicken with jerk sauce on top. it had ok favor. Now the rice and peas was ok but it was dry. on top of that I didn't get a Jamaica style serving (all Jamaicans know what I'm talking about). price didn't match the light weight food (add more food or cute price). Wait time wasn't to bad. Customer service was great. I will be back to try it again. read more

You can tell the meals were cooked with love and everything is extremely reasonably priced (I mean really, I would pay more!).
