Brought home delicious beef empanadas, medianoche sandwich and churros!

I am not Cuban but lived in Tampa for 19 years and was spoiled with some of the best Cuban cuisine in FL! After moving to N FL , it was a struggle finding any authentic Spanish food! Thankfully a few years ago we came across The Cuban Cafe and Bakery in St. Augustine! As you walk through the quaint outdoor seating area, you are filled with the aroma of fresh Cuban coffee! Once inside the cozy cafe you are greeted with smiles and wonderful Spanish music. The sandwiches, bakery goods and empanadas are always wonderful!

We were in Florida and of course you want to get Cuban coffee. When we saw this place, we thought it was great. We went in for a Cuban coffee, and it truly was not the same. I haven't had enough Cuban coffee, but the ones that I had were very, very, very good and this one just taste like a normal latte. The store was nice. They had some tables outside the and inside and it's decorated all cute but just not enough for me to have another coffee here.

For your morning wake up @10am (open). I was going to have an empanada to compare it to the Columbia but after seeing cases of cheese empanadas sitting outside from a delivery that was left without anyone around @9am I decide on something that I can watch them make. I have had Cuban sandwiches in Miami and I have had Croquetas but I have never had the two put together. The Croqueta sandwich is just that and was delicious. Opens at 10am and the line out the door builds quickly.

Got the Iced caramel cafe con leche, it's the perfect mix of flavors! Delish! Also got the chicken empanada and croquette. Cute family place and would definitely be back!

We were here for a drink after walking on St George street. The latte is actually very good. No green tea only black tea. They also serve food, pretty neat place!

This was a great stop by for a late lunch. The place is fairly simple in decor, but it certainly got the job done. As it was well after lunch, we were the only ones there and service was quick and efficient. I had a Cuba sandwich and an El Presidente beer which went well with the sandwich. The sandwich was better than average, but nothing to write home about. I'd stop in again if in need for a quick and good bite.

Cute little cuban Cafe in the cut. It could easily be missed but is def worth the stop as the empanadas are to die for... they have a wide variety, including chicken, beef, and vegetable. They also serve a variety of coffee. Nice place to grab a snack before sight seeing.

Absolutely without a doubt THEE best Cuban Sandwich in FL!!!

A huge shoutout to our tour guide, Daven, who was incredibly patient with our energetic group and made the experience even better. He was so knowledgeable and shared tons of fun facts about the capybaras that kept the girls engaged the entire time. You can tell he truly enjoys what he does! The capybaras were adorable, sweet, and such a unique experience. We're already talking about coming back to try some of the other animal café experiences they offer. Highly recommend!

Upon arrival, the check-in process was seamless, and the staff was incredibly welcoming. While waiting for our session, we spent time in a designated area with several charming animals, including rabbits, miniature goats, and ferrets. Once our time slot began, we were guided to the back in two small groups. We spent the first 30 minutes learning about and interacting with the capybaras, followed by a transition to a second room to meet a lemur and a wallaby. Overall, this was an amazing experience. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept the schedule running smoothly. This is a must-do activity in St. Augustine, and we look forward to visiting again soon.

It was smooth, cozy, and somehow tasted like a hug but also woke me up like I had responsibilities. This was much needed after we landed from cold Chicago, like "hey girl"! Perfect balance of flavor and caffeine, not overly sweet, and actually tasted like real coffee (which is rare these days). If you're in St. Augustine, do yourself a favor and stop here, you'll leave caffeinated, happy, and maybe a little motivated as well!

Not only did I find delicious coffee and beautiful local art - which is what you'd expect and hope to find given the name - but fresh, homemade breakfast/lunch options and some of the most genuine, sweet people who remember their regulars and truly appreciate customer loyalty, which is far too rare in the service industry these days. In 3 years, I've had only great food and coffee here, but it's the warm, thoughtful, human element that has kept me coming back and will keep me coming for years to come. Thank you, Mike and the Sweetwater crew! *A note for my fellow wheeled peops: It's small, depending on the type of chair you have, and may require deft maneuvering but there is an accessible entrance in the back between Chase bank and the Villa Zorayda museum. If you need help getting in, call. They will all help, without hesitation. Don't miss out on an amazing experience.
