The staff has always been welcoming and friendly here. I would have never known about this place if my friend did not show me and I am so glad they did. They have a decent supply of product and are great at advertising when they will be restocking so that those of us in the hobby can have a chance. Pricing can be a bit high at times but that is unfortunately how the market is nowadays with high popularity/demand. Location is a bit difficult to find at first but going there one time is enough to memorize where it is. Great spot to visit! read more

Paladins Game Castle is a fame store filled with so many board games and card games! We also found out that they also do game events such as D&D and Magic The Gatherer to name a few. My brother is into Magic and so when he found that out, he got really happy. The person behind the cashier was also very informative and helped us a lot in finding which games we wanted and even the best deals online. The store had a large selection of books and mini figures used for DND but also had a wide variety of board games, Pokémon cards, and pretty much anything else you would need for tabletop games. The store is a bit hidden in an industrial area there isn't any AC in the store but they had big fans blowing. read more

They are selling $50 prismatic evolutions ETBs for $130($120+tax) and are a "local card shop." They hide behind lies and have some of the SHADIEST business practices I have ever seen. Do not go here. Go anywhere else. They did the same thing when there was a shortage of pokemon cards during covid. At one point while it was still on white lane, this was a good shop. Now, it's a trap for people with collecting addictions. Please, please, please go anywhere else. read more

So the only thing surprising about this review is that it took me this long to make it out there... If you have ever been to a game shop before, then you will know what to expect. Dice, figurines, lots and lots of table top game (TT) and role playing game (rpg). If you are thinking D&D then you would be correct! Only it is D&D plus a whole lot more for those who like to roll the dice without being in Vegas. there are the mandatory tables for gaming on. a meager selection of snacky foods for when the Geek forgot to eat. A decent selection of games. The website said that on Saturdays folks can stop by to check out a game before purchasing from their library of opened games. Staff was very polite. It is on the smaller side though. and you have to drive about 600 feet back from normal road to find it... Signage could be a bit larger / clearer. i will be back. read more

Paladins Game Castle is such a great place, and it is definitely is a hidden treasure in Bakersfield. It offers a variety of boardgame and cardgame activities such as early-release events, tournaments, and how-to-play sessions. I believe it's the only place in Bakersfield other than Target where you can purchase the Cards Against Humanity game. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable of all of the games. Paladins Game Castle even visited the school I work at to host a Game Tournament Event for Pokemon and Yugioh. They have a wide variety of things they offer like card sleeves, cards, pro-binders, boardgames, figure paints, plushies, and dice. They also sell Game of Thrones Card Sleeves and Game of Thrones mats. Those things aren't available to Bakersfield unless you order them online. I've only competed in the Yugioh tournaments, and the store always maintains a friendly atmosphere. The tournaments are organized by numbering specific tables and assigning players to each table. During the tournaments, when contestants aren't competing, they are welcome to trade cards with each other. PGC just asks that their customers do not sell or buy cards from each other because it hurts their business. Overall, I've really grown to love this place, and I refuse to buy most of my card stuff online because I'd rather buy stuff from PGC to support a local business. read more

I have been here a few time usually great service. Unfortunately I feel as though booster packs I purchased today were repackaged. I was a bit suspect of the the packs once seeing them at home. Then 3 of the 5 packs contained the same rare card. I don't plan on buying booster packs here anymore. I may look into sealed boxes but still hesitant. This last experience has really affected my opinion of the place. However since before I enjoyed this place I'm still giving it 2/5 stars. One bad experience did deserve the drop in rating and I feel it's fair. read more

A great asset to the gaming community- and it's been around a long time. All sorts of board and card games, as well as the accompanying accessories (sleeves, boxes, plushies, dice, etc). Lots of space for free play and tournaments. Employees are super friendly and helpful. FNM always has a great turn out, but there are also lots of D&D players and L5R players. read more

It's very much the game store that look for. Been going to it since it opened the current location. I love it. The owners are courteous and knowledgable in their product and the staff are great to talk to. They don't try to upsale you, which I appreciate. If you're looking for something specific, they'll help you get that item. Their MTG events are amazing and even though I don't play, I enjoy popping into the store just to see the excitement and feel the energy. It's nice to have a store feel like family. read more

This place is a scam. They definitely scale out their Pokémon cards. I just bought 2 booster boxes. & wanted to buy more, so the next day I called to see if they had another box. They said they had a box on their counter with 6 packs missing. It's funny because the day prior they said they didn't have any at all. So I went and bought the booster pack that was open. BOUGHT 30 Cards with not a single GX. will never buy here again. Would only recommend if you only wanted to buy a sealed box. Shady Asf... never in my life would I open 30 packs and not get even one GX. This place just looks like their struggling to stay in business. What's also funny is I seen they had fresh new unbroken bond cards for sale. Don't buy open packs from these guys. read more

I first went to paladins almost 2 and a half years ago. Walking into the store (used to be on white lane), I remember how nice and helpful the workers were. I returned a few more times before dropping out of the gaming scene for a while. When I did return, my first stop was back to Paladins. I wanted to see if things had changed which they had! The store had moved but their events of FNM were in full swing. I singed up with my good friend and couldn't believe it. Organized, mobile station to transact business, and two of the people I remember made a lasting impact on me. Both of the owners host the Friday Night Magic and put a lot of effort to make it run as smooth as it does. This review is as much a five star rating of them as it is for their store. People come from out of town to be apart of the events they hold. Its no wonder. You don't get what you pay for here, You get above and beyond. read more

These guys are awesome! They are clean, the customer service is amazing and they are way chill about finding cards for you. I've never had a better experience with gaming stores than this place. I came from Utah and all the places there are smelly and dirty, the customer service is not so great and the workers are always in the "nerdier than thou" snooty mindset. We first met these guys when they were at Southwest Library. Our family stopped in on a Saturday just to get some books. My son was so excited to see people playing Pokemon and wanted to play too. He had no experience playing the game (and neither did Dad and I), but were welcomed to play and learn! It was such a fun experience. They were patient and kind with us while we fumbled through a couple of games. They did a really nice job letting us know about their store without seeming like used car salesman (sorry, used car guys!) We visited recently and purchased the starter pack we played with at the library. It seemed reasonably priced and they had lots of other stuff in the store.
