In my personal experience, handing him my cards was like dropping them into a black hole -- except a black hole would've had better communication. I gave him 14 cards to submit for grading over a year and a half ago, and every time I ask for an update, I get the same recycled excuse: "PSA still has them." At this point, even PSA would be impressed by how long he's managed to hide behind their name. And the moment I started pressing for answers? The professionalism evaporated. Suddenly the tone shifted, and let's just say the vibe became a lot less "business transaction" and a lot more "intimidation attempt." Not exactly the customer service experience anyone signs up for. If you enjoy being ignored, strung along indefinitely, and spoken to aggressively when you ask basic questions, this is your guy. Otherwise, I'd strongly recommend keeping your cards -- and your peace of mind -- far away.

It's a great way to get away from the hustle and stress of Christmas and just enjoy some live entertainment. The atmosphere is awesome. Everyone has a smile. The actors are fun and engaging. No one takes themselves too seriously, which is weird because melodrama is in the name. ;) They have a snack bar. We got free popcorn because my brother has season tickets. And, I must say, it's pretty darn good popcorn. This is a wonderful family experience, and if you can get tickets. I really recommend you try them out.

With the gaslight melodrama within 2 miles of my house, I can't seem to stay away. The energy, the talent, and the sheer fun this place delivers never fades. The actors are incredible and always giving 110% and the staff is just as amazing, making every visit feel warm and welcoming. The skits are absolutely hilarious, the kind of humor that has you laughing long after the show ends. And the food? Always delicious and the perfect addition to a night of entertainment. After four decades of attending local shows, I can honestly say the Gaslight Melodrama continues to be one of my favorite places in Bakersfield. We needed costumes for our Knights of the Kingdom theme Harvest Fest at our church...I had to come…read moreback for my son's costume and was treated with grace and courtesy both times...there is a great selection of "to buy" costumes but since we don't dress up much we went the rental route and the fabric is quality. The costumes beautiful and authentic looking...the owner runs the place and was completely helpful from beginning to end...she sized my husband and son for their costumes from me just FaceTiming them and them standing back from the camera and standing straight...she is great and knows her stuff! Didn't believe we'd have as good of a costume for the event. I chose lederhosen and my wife got a beer maiden dress. My wife won the best dressed for the female costume which I'll attest to hair dressing abilities along with all of the extras she put into the outfit. I have to give a huge shoutout to the owner, who did us a huge favor, following a mishap we had where she allowed us to rent the costumes for a little extra time due to a last minute cancellation. Thank you again and we'll definitely be renting costumes from here again.
