Love Taxus Street Coffee! Not only is the coffee great, but the staff is super sweet and very accommodating. We have brought adults with disabilities several times, and staff always does everything they can to make their experience great. Highly recommend!

Taxus Street Coffee (TSC) is a permanent installation of a coffee shop located inside Big Ugly Brewing. They take over the bar in the morning hours when the brewery is closed. I've been many times over the last almost two years trying various lattes, from the regular lattes, mocha lattes, iced coffees to shakeratos (a more complex latte shaken). I've also bought the canned cold brew for my husband which he has enjoyed. They roast their own coffee and provide their coffee beans to other businesses in the area like Battlegrounds, that I have seen. Aside from their caffeinated lattes, they also have iced coffee drinks and non-coffee drinks. For bites, I believe they carry savory items like breakfast sammies and burritos from the local biz down the street, City Deli. For sweets, they carry baked goods from Heritage Bake Shoppe out in Virginia Beach like their cinnamon rolls, whoopie pies and muffins. My favorite days to go during the warmer months is when Klassic Doughnuts are parked outside from 7 am -12 pm, so I can hit them both at once! Coffee and doughnuts, what better marriage is there, except for mine, of course. :P Taxus and Klassic have had a long lasting partnership for at least, as long as I have lived here and my hack to weathering the line for Klassic is to tag team with someone you are with and get a coffee and enjoy it while you are waiting. Of course, you can do the opposite and get some doughnuts and enjoy the doughnuts with the coffee once inside. It's a win win! Go check them out! Stay safe, Friends!

Best coffee around. The owners were super friendly, and the staff was incredible. Plenty of seating in a great place to get some work done. We're just hang with a friend.

Tried this as part of the Coastal Coffee Trail. It's out of my normal route but so glad I decided to give it a go. I am a huge chai latte fan but was feeling different that day. I tried a London Fog on a recommendation from the barista and fell in love! This version uses a lavender earl grey tea and the hint of floral was unexpectedly delicious. With a touch of vanilla and sweetness, I have a new addition to my tea latte preferences. The staff was so nice and talked me through the offerings for non-coffee. I only wish their hours were a little longer, but that's a selfish reason

I'm relatively new to the area and searched Yelp for coffee shops near me. Taxus wasn't too far so on a beautiful, sunny November morning I headed here to check it out. Located inside Big Ugly Brewing, the menu is somewhat limited but I like to think that just means they know what they're good at and keep it simple. My drink, the Honey Cinnamon Latte (fall special) was exceptional and the barista was super kind and helpful in recommending this drink. I drank my coffee outside on the large patio and reveled in the ability to enjoy a coffee outside, in the sun, without a coat just a couple of days away from December. My former Midwest and Pacific Northwest selves are loving this new life! Thanks, Taxus! I'll be back for sure!

So this place is actually inside the Big Ugly Brewery! Love their coffees! May I suggest the shakerato! Sweet, frothy iced espresso. Perfect way to start your mornings. Okay. So maybe 2 suggestions. Go on Friday! Get your coffee and donut fix with Klassics donuts in Fridays! Plenty of parking. Tables are available to enjoy your coffee and work remotely or to study. Hand sanitizers are available. Restroom has a changing table for all you mom's out there! They also have little snacks/pastries available if you go on another day other than Fridays.

What a nice vibe! Mumford and Sons playing softly in the background, people talking freely amongst themselves at the bar, some working on their computers. It's located inside Big Ugly! What a great back drop. I got the salted honey latte. So good! It's a perfect drink. Not too sweet but sweet enough. I got it hot today because it's chilly out. The barista was pleasant and did a beautiful job. I'm coming back. This place is a keeper.

We loved that the coffee shop is inside Big Ugly Brewery. What a super cool atmosphere. The service was good. We got a horchata Latte, it was not very flavorful for us. It was one of their special latte's for the day. I will be trying a few more to hopefully move my review up to a 5 star because I really like the location. OOO and the cinnamon roll was really good. If you are eating it right away they heat it up for you and I love that . Their hot cocoa was great. I actually drank a little of my Latte and poured the rest of the hot cocoa in my latte. YUMM. I usually keep notes of all the drinks so I will give you an update when I have something to report. We are looking forward to visiting again and trying a lot more goodies.

A coffee shop inside a brewery-Ran across this lovely place during a business meeting and completely surprised by how beautiful it is inside and out. Not a beer fan but will definitely check out the night life. Back to the coffee AMAZING and perfectly strong. Espresso with a splash of breve - better than anything else around! Update; went back today - pretty sure the espresso is the best I've ever had hands down ... and strong!!! Keeps me going all day! I'll drive from NC everyday for my fix

Thanks for offering a sweet deal on coffee and bun!

I hadn't been to Big Ugly Brewing since COVID hit last year...So I was surprised they had a coffee and a small selection of baked items. I got the latte with the horchata flavoring...tasty. I also got a large frosted cinnamon roll(haven't tried it yet) but it looks delicious. The service was great and super friend ladies behind the counter.

Excellent quality coffee beans! We recently purchased an espresso maker for home and have been on a search for the best whole espresso beans for my machine. After trying about 6-7 different brands, I found my new favorite! Their Drummond Espresso beans are perfect and are super fresh. The owner was really nice and explained the variety of beans they offer, how they roast beans every 10 days, etc. Exactly what I was looking for. I'll be back to try the drinks as well.

Super cute small batch coffee spot inside Big Ugly Brewery, with a cool lil vibe and great customer service!

We were enjoying ourselves at the outdoor cafe. The server pays close attention to detail when you order your food. The drinks and the cinnamon bun really hit the spot.

The environment didn't appear to be well maintained, and it made the experience feel unsanitary. Their retail area is also much larger, featuring an impressive selection of branded T-shirts, hoodies, mugs, coffee beans, and other merchandise for those who want to take a little piece of Pale Horse home with them. We arrived just before the Saturday morning rush, which proved to be perfect timing. No sooner had we settled into our seats with our lattes than a group of nearly thirty people walked through the door. It didn't take long for the shop to become a lively gathering place. Despite the growing crowd, the atmosphere remained welcoming and unhurried. The waitress who helped us was incredibly nice and took the time to answer all of my questions. Unfortunately, my excitement was cut short when I went to order the #6 breakfast special and found out the fried rice was pre-made with ham, and there was no option to get it without meat. Since the fried rice was out, I pivoted and ordered the #1 Special: 2 eggs (requested soft scrambled with cheese) 2 pieces of bacon (asked to hold the bacon) White toast Home fries Side order: Egg rolls to go The execution of breakfast was pretty disappointing. The eggs weren't soft scrambled, the cheese on top wasn't melted, and the home fries were very hard. To top it off, the whole plate came out at room temperature. I didn't make a fuss or send it back because it's a small, family-owned restaurant and they clearly have a lot of loyal regulars who love them. Overall Verdict: Breakfast Food: 5/10 Egg Rolls: 7/10 The service alone makes it worth giving them another shot. While breakfast wasn't a hit for me, I would definitely return to give their lunch menu a try.
