Wonderful vets, great staff and lots of love by all. I am so very fortunate to have Dr Matt and the other vets here so close to home. We have 5 dogs and 4 cats who receive the best care from this clinic. I truly feel like they are an extension of our family and know no matter why we are going we will leave well informed and my animals will receive the best care around. I also run a boarding/day care facility and know that if I ever need them in an emergency they are ready and very able to lend a hand when the doctors are in. Thank you for all you guys do and know it's appreciated more than our pack can ever express to you with words, woofs or meows. :)

I cannot say enough great things about this clinic!! They are the best vet I have ever had, and I've moved around a bit!! I used to live in Spicewood but moved to downtown Austin, and I still make the 40 minute drive for all of my pets' needs- if that tells you anything about their care. Dr. Matt is so kind and caring; you can tell he loves the animals, the people, his job in general. He has not lost his compassion, love, or empathy for his little furry patients despite all his years of experience. I have taken all four of my pets there for various issues (old age, rattlesnake training, etc) and they have always accommodated me and my babies- when we have an emergency or just for a regular visit. Rachel is the receptionist who is also outstanding- so knowledgeable even at the front desk for all my questions haha! They know me by name when I call and know my pets and their histories.. I feel like this kind of attention to detail, intimacy, and service is rare in these days and times- especially in a metro area!! Guys- thank you for all you do!! I'm so impressed and will continue to trust you and follow your advice when it comes to my loved ones!! You all sure are doing a LOT right in my opinion!!!

Matt called me personally and gave me the news and offered to do whatever I needed to make the process go easier for me.

I would never trust Five Star Vet with a pet . What started as a very serious situation with my cat…read moreturned into an extremely frustrating and heartbreaking experience. They completely missed the fact my cat had mouth cancer even though his face was asymmetrical and swollen!!!! As a pet owner, you expect compassion, transparency, and confidence from the people caring for your animal -- especially when your pet is suffering. Instead, they made me pay several hundred dollars for arthritis tests!! On top of everything th staff was awful to my animal! Pinning him down and yelling at him!!! I would not recommend this clinic to friends, family, or anyone looking for quality veterinary care.

As a vet, they're okay. The team is friendly. But there are two big issues:…read more 1. They now charge a 3% credit card fee. I brought it up at the time--credit cards are the safest, most common way to pay in 2025. I don't carry cash or a debit card. I get that processing fees are a pain, but passing that onto consumers is wild. They offered to email me a payment link so we could use a debit card, but the 3% fee was already added--and hidden--with no invoice, just a total. Turns out, to avoid the fee, you have to go in person or pay over the phone. Which brings me back to the point: credit cards are safe; debit cards are not. Hiding a charge like that behind a lump sum total is absolutely criminal. Lucky we checked--and lucky we won't be going back. If you're finding ways to bury fees in invoices to make people pay more, you're not running an honest business. It's like a server sneaking extra drinks onto a big tab. It's theft. 2. They try to sell you. We all love our pets and want what's best for them. But just like at the dentist, I don't need the upsell. If something's truly needed, I'll do it--no hesitation. For example, they recommended bloodwork for our dog that wasn't essential. The in-house price was close to $300. I said that felt steep if it wasn't necessary. A minute later, they came back with a cheaper option--sending it to an external lab for half the cost. Apparently, it's just more expensive to do it in-house. So why wasn't that the first option? If it's cheaper and just as effective, that should be the default. Unfortunately, this means we'll need to find a new vet.
