You know it's good when there's lines. The skippy is the most popular item on their menu. It's almost like a mangonada but the difference is that she adds freshly squeezed lemon juice and chile en polvo. I got the mango and piña and tasted bomb but I also noticed a lot of people getting it with limon. I also got a paleta de arroz con leche and it tasted just like the ones from Mexico. My husband got a obispo which is raspado with ice cream. The lady was very kind I just wonder that maybe she should hire another member to help her with all the orders. Today March 25th at around 3:15pm I sent my husband to buy me a strawberry "skippy" I asked him before he got out the car to ask for extra chile since last Wednesday my "skippy" was NOT spicy at all. Just tasted like strawberry and limon. He gets my order we drive off and I taste my skippy and AGAIN no chile. We had to drive back and ask the lady to put more chile and she gives my husband a very bad attitude. This lady is the same lady who made my skippy last week. Idk if she's new? My ice cream review: it was delish!!! I didn't want it to finish! The coco was my favorite, every spoonful was creamy coconutty ( is that even a word) and chewy with coco bits. Always worth the drive! They have the best chicle paletas I've ever had. I always get a minimum of two. Today I tried the mango Skippy. If you love chamoy as much as I do, you have to try Paleteria Limon and order the Skippy!! I personally really like the "Original" Skippy that has tamarind in it. Basically, a Skippy is shaved ice with lemon juice, lots of chamoy and chili powder. Sour and spicy: my favorites!! I also asked for extra chili powder to give it more of a kick. Pina con Chile and Mango con Chile - These 2 puppies packed some serious heat. I can take heat but by the middle of this bar my lips were burning. Overall, they were great in flavor and spot on. Nances aka nance fruit - Yummo...I love this one! This ice cream bar took be back to my central american roots. It's a small round fruit with a strong smell and in Nicaragua we marinate this fruit with rum. This was the first time I came across nance being in a ice cream bar. Coco - Typical coco flavor and not worth the $1.75 because you can get this with the ice cream man that passes through the neighborhood for $1 or less. I really wanted to try the Tamarind with Chamoy bar but I completely forgot to get it. They also carry raspados which I also plan to try the Skippy next time. My favorite is the "Skippy" which is a raspado made of sweet plum (ciruela pasa) syrup mixed with tamarindo syrup, fresh sqeezed lime and powdered chili! My favorite summer treat. It tastes like a Lucas chili powder raspado... my mouth is watering! The mangoniadas are incredible, you could actually taste the mango unlike some other ones that are pure water with a little taste of mango syrup. Whaaaaa? This is place is only, at the very most, O-K. I got all excited for nothing. Read the reviews here and asked one of the girls if she could bring back raspados for the office. I tried "skippy" and thought my heart would skip a beat. Nope, my heart did not skip with the first taste. My breath stopped for a bit and then I realized I was just severely disappointed. Skippy was not spicy and far from being exciting. The other guys and gals got different flavors and they were also disappointed. For those who still want to try, they have 2 sizes-- Medium and Large.
