I am a 26-year-old male, who had -8 prescription contacts in both eyes. I was absolutely devastated when within a months time at age 25, my tear production gave up. I was no longer able to wear the contacts which gave me vision since my early teens. My eyes were simply too dry. After a few months of misery in glasses, I looked into LASIK. But the price? It was beyond my reach. That is, until I found LASIK on GROUPON. I figured, I need to be very careful, after all, why would any self-respecting doctor need a coupon for customers? Boy was I wrong! I scheduled my initial assessment free of charge, as usual with these places. Upon entering PLC, I was impressed with the organization, presentation, and comfort of the office and staff. I helped myself to some cookies and coffee while I waited. Next, I was greeted by a woman, who brought me into another room, where she performed four tests on my eyes, for measurements and determining my candidacy for the procedure. She then brought me to a final room for one last check. She told me I looked like a great candidate, and that someone else would be with me soon. Just a few moments later, I was greeted by another woman, who was exceedingly helpful in telling me how the procedure works, what to expect, and even the risks involved. All topics which I was educated on already, but it was appreciated nonetheless. I was told about the required eye drops which would be taken three days pre-op as well as afterwards, combined they cost me about 60 dollars. She also assured me that she would be in-office the day of my surgery, and ended up doing my one-month follow-up as well. I was told my measurements would just make the cut for regular LASIK, but that bladeless would be a safer plan. (This is typical of higher prescriptions such as mine). Next, I was brought into a small office, with another young woman. There, we scheduled my procedure date, just under two weeks from that day. We also discussed the price difference between blade/bladeless LASIK, which I wasn't made to pay until my procedure date. I was NOT treated differently than anyone else because I was a Groupon patient. I was treated with respect by all members of the staff throughout. That is important and appreciated! Lastly, much to my surprise, I got to sit down with Dr. Richard Gordon himself. Apparently, according to reviews from other LASIK centers, this isn't as common as you'd expect! Many patients don't even meet their doctor until a minute before their surgery! Dr. Gordon was calm, cool, and collected. He went over similar things which his assistant did just after my assessments earlier, and didn't graze over the possibilities side effects, or worse, ectasia, etc. I left that day feeling very confident in my decision, and looked forward to my procedure date. I'll make this part quick. The office was bustling with employees the day of my surgery, there must have been at least five people watching over my procedure, with Doctor Gordon at the helm. Everyone was positive, happy, and I was given a stuffed elephant to hold while I got zapped. Doctor Gordon has performed countless procedures, and his confidence shows, I felt safe the entire time. The procedure lasted maybe two minutes, and I was sent home right after to nap. I was able to help myself to the office bathroom immediately afterwards (with plenty of discomfort of course, but hey!) and I was able to speed down the highway 24-hours later (YOUR results may vary!) Following the procedure, was about a month of increased dryness, and mild visual aura around light source (Both common and temporary for most) ONE-MONTH POST OP - Dryness from the surgery has subsided, light sensitivity was gone after 24 hours, and my mild visual aura around headlights/street lamps has just about cleared up! Be responsible, and follow all pre/post-op care! If you couldn't already tell, I absolutely loved every minute of time spent with Palisades Laser Eye Center, the employees, and Dr. Gordon. GO HERE. I had LASIK done a year ago. Yes I waited a year before posting this review. I was hoping that things will change. I had a strong prescription (-7.50 both sides), I have tested 20/20 after 8 day followup but after the procedure I basically can't see anything close-up. I can't see who is calling me on my iPhone and I can't tell the time on my watch. I am over 40 years old and I asked the surgeon about what will happen to my near vision and he told me I may have a "little" reduction in my close-up vision. Before the surgery I did not rely on glasses to see the pc, read a book ect. The only thing I needed them for close up was to see small print. Now I cannot see the computer, keyboard, read anything up close . I've been told that It could take several weeks for your vision to improve, sometimes even months! It's been a year and my near vision got worse. I basically paid 3k to get rid of my distance glasses just to be relay on a near glasses . I wish I could take it all back! I wish they were honest , if they were I would have never done the surgery . Every day I wish that I could travel back in time and not do it. So many people have it done and come out fine, but if it goes wrong, it's life changing in an extremely bad way. read more

Dr.Gordon and his staff are just wonderful. I was blind as a bat and have been using contact lens forever. I have been told in the past by other eye centers that I wasn't a good candidate for LASIK. So I decided to give them a shot since they came highly recommended. Well, guess what...after a thorough exam and consultation, I was a good candidate for the procedure and I decided to go for it. I came to the Palisades Laser Eye Center thanks to a Groupon deal for lasik on both eyes. I was skeptical and nervous at first so did a ton of research on Dr. Gordon before deciding to purchase the Groupon. After researching I discovered that Dr. Gordon is board certified in optomology and refractive surgery, has written journal articles about the eyes, a book about lasik, and has performed thousands of surgeries. Finding all this out made me feel very comfortable to proceed. So I called the eye center and was informed that I would have to purchase the Groupon before going for a consultation. I was then informed that I would have to not wear my contacts for two weeks to ensure during the consult that they were getting the proper measurements of my eye. The two weeks was the longest two weeks ever lol. At my consult they performed numerous tests on my eyes. After the tests were completed I meet with Dr. Gordon who was so pleasant and informative. He really made me feel comfortable and was very knowledgeable and professional. I then had my lasik scheduled for the following week. The procedure was so fast. I was in and out within thirty minutes. Everyone was so nice and kind. Immediately after the surgery I was already seeing clear. I couldn't believe it. I have my first post op appointment today and I am seeing sooo clear. Such a great experience. I truly wished I would have done this sooner. Thanks again to Dr. Gordon and his staff for such a wonderful experience. P.s if you decide to do surgery make sure you pay the extra 500 for customvue. Customvue is a fingerprint mapping of your eye. It allows for a more successful procedure :-). I did the blade lasik procedure with customvue. I decided to go with blade instead of blameless because it was not only cheaper but Dr. Gordon had advised that my cornea was thick enough to have it done successfully read more

I had my LASIK eye survery about 3 weeks ago and I could not be more happy with my results! The entire process from my consultation with Angelica was great! She answered all of my questions and was very helpful through out the process! The day of survery went very smoothly, the actually survery took about 10 minutes and was completely painless! It was my dream come true when I finally corrected my vision. And I couldn't think of a better place but Palisades Clinic. I live in Manhattan and even tho the commute wasn't something convenient for me, I didn't care as I knew what matters to me the most that I'm in the right hands. The people and the clinic itself is so top-notch. I've got the best service provided taken that I had a groupon deal that actually still lasts (hurry up to get yours). So if you still considering, make an appointment then go and see for yourself. But what really matters are the results. I'm exactly 2 weeks post surgery and I have no complaints whatsoever. Even after my first night after the surgery (that actually takes only about 20 minutes), when I walked outside I looked up and saw the clouds moving without wearing my eyeglasses was something unbelievable.
