The consultation was super helpful, they gave him a clear idea of what to expect and answered all his questions. The consultation was maybe 30 minutes, and the actual procedure didn't feel long at all, maybe 15 minutes tops. Afterwards, his eyes felt a little sore and sensitive, kind of like having something in your eye, but not unbearable. The soreness started easing up after a couple of days, and he experienced little hemorrhage. It had taken about 1-2 weeks to fully clear up. Nothing too crazy though--it all felt very manageable! He's so happy to not have to deal with glasses getting dirty, scratched up, heavy on his nose bridge or fogged up. He feels free and His eyesight is now 20/15.

To my surprise the doctor was trying to save me a trip and not come in - however I wanted to get checked. When I did come in the service and care for my concerns was discouraging and I lost a trust for even going back to them for my concerns. The doctor set me up for a follow up for "a month or two" which left me to pick the date. They never called to confirm my appointment which was odd for them - which also showed me that I no longer felt comfortable going to this person. I will give a 2 only because the other staff was nice and helpful and for lasik surgery it is a good price.

I am a 26-year-old male, who had -8 prescription contacts in both eyes. I was absolutely devastated…read morewhen within a months time at age 25, my tear production gave up. I was no longer able to wear the contacts which gave me vision since my early teens. My eyes were simply too dry. After a few months of misery in glasses, I looked into LASIK. But the price? It was beyond my reach. That is, until I found LASIK on GROUPON. I figured, I need to be very careful, after all, why would any self-respecting doctor need a coupon for customers? Boy was I wrong! I scheduled my initial assessment free of charge, as usual with these places. Upon entering PLC, I was impressed with the organization, presentation, and comfort of the office and staff. I helped myself to some cookies and coffee while I waited. Next, I was greeted by a woman, who brought me into another room, where she performed four tests on my eyes, for measurements and determining my candidacy for the procedure. She then brought me to a final room for one last check. She told me I looked like a great candidate, and that someone else would be with me soon. Just a few moments later, I was greeted by another woman, who was exceedingly helpful in telling me how the procedure works, what to expect, and even the risks involved. All topics which I was educated on already, but it was appreciated nonetheless. I was told about the required eye drops which would be taken three days pre-op as well as afterwards, combined they cost me about 60 dollars. She also assured me that she would be in-office the day of my surgery, and ended up doing my one-month follow-up as well. I was told my measurements would just make the cut for regular LASIK, but that bladeless would be a safer plan. (This is typical of higher prescriptions such as mine). Next, I was brought into a small office, with another young woman. There, we scheduled my procedure date, just under two weeks from that day. We also discussed the price difference between blade/bladeless LASIK, which I wasn't made to pay until my procedure date. I was NOT treated differently than anyone else because I was a Groupon patient. I was treated with respect by all members of the staff throughout. That is important and appreciated! Lastly, much to my surprise, I got to sit down with Dr. Richard Gordon himself. Apparently, according to reviews from other LASIK centers, this isn't as common as you'd expect! Many patients don't even meet their doctor until a minute before their surgery! Dr. Gordon was calm, cool, and collected. He went over similar things which his assistant did just after my assessments earlier, and didn't graze over the possibilities side effects, or worse, ectasia, etc. I left that day feeling very confident in my decision, and looked forward to my procedure date. I'll make this part quick. The office was bustling with employees the day of my surgery, there must have been at least five people watching over my procedure, with Doctor Gordon at the helm. Everyone was positive, happy, and I was given a stuffed elephant to hold while I got zapped. Doctor Gordon has performed countless procedures, and his confidence shows, I felt safe the entire time. The procedure lasted maybe two minutes, and I was sent home right after to nap. I was able to help myself to the office bathroom immediately afterwards (with plenty of discomfort of course, but hey!) and I was able to speed down the highway 24-hours later (YOUR results may vary!) Following the procedure, was about a month of increased dryness, and mild visual aura around light source (Both common and temporary for most) ONE-MONTH POST OP - Dryness from the surgery has subsided, light sensitivity was gone after 24 hours, and my mild visual aura around headlights/street lamps has just about cleared up! Be responsible, and follow all pre/post-op care! If you couldn't already tell, I absolutely loved every minute of time spent with Palisades Laser Eye Center, the employees, and Dr. Gordon. GO HERE. Don't wait another day to be free of glasses or contacts. Again, be responsible, and follow all pre/post-op care!

This review is for Ophthalmology (GOSHEN location)…read more The appt was for my father, an elderly man w/ cataracts. He made the appt and told them he had cataracts. He received at least 4 reminder calls. I filled out the paperwork because he can't see well, he was seen within 10 minutes. We sat with a nurse, who asked why we were there. (It should be in the notes, but it doesn't hurt to ask.) We talk about his cataracts. She puts drops in, and then has him sit in the hallway. He has mobility issues, so it's challenging to go between these stops. We sit for maybe a minute before we go to the next room. In the room, he sits in the seat and a minute later the doctor comes in and says "I'm going to take a look in your eyes." Puts some headgear on, and looks in his eyes. The doctor says "Those are some really thick cataracts, but we can't help you here. We have to refer you to someone else." I was shocked. We went through a machine like process, for a 2 second glance, where he was dismissed in 30 seconds. I asked why, and the doctor said "He's too big for the machine that measures the cataracts. Have you tried Blah Blah (a place closer to where we live)?" I told him that our doctor referred us here, so why would we try another place? The doctor said "I don't know what machine other places use, so you may have to call around." I asked if we could at least try the machine. It measures your eyes, not your waist, so why would it not fit a person? The doctor said "No. It's in our Newburgh location". So I asked if this was the first obese person he had ever seen medically, and he said no, they turn away people all the time. I said "You can't help, and you cannot even help us enough to tell us where to go?" He said "Weschester would be your best bet, but it's far, so I didn't want to suggest that." I said "My father cannot see. I would go to the moon if I had to. Is there anything more important than your ability to see?" The doctor LAUGHED. He said he would get the number for Westchester and left. My father was in tears: humiliated by a medical professional, given little hope and no clear direction. The aide at the desk didn't offer the sunglasses for his eyes. She also had no idea what the numbers were for any of the places we mentioned and suggested that we Google them. If you as a medical professional cannot do the following, you are doing the bare minimum and truly feel not an ounce of empathy for your patients: #1 - SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT WHERE THE EQUIPMENT IS. They were looking to make money off of the visit and bill us for a 2nd one to travel to where the machine was no matter what. Greedy. #2 - IF YOUR MACHINE HAS SIZE REQUIREMENTS, VET PATIENTS BEGORE SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT. They just wanted our money for the visit. ANY ONE of the calls my father had - from making the appointment to the 4 reminders - was an opportunity to ask his weight, height, etc. They could have warned him that the trip might be wasted. They could have saved us the gas, money, and time and they could have saved the business from an appointment, manpower, and supplies. Wasteful. #3 - IF YOU CANNOT HELP, REFER TO SOMEONE WHO CAN. You have not built up a network of contacts for specialized cases or people that you can't ensure your patients have the care they need? Despicable. #4 - INVEST IN EQUIPMENT TO SERVICE YOUR CLIENT BASE. In the US, 50% of the population is obese. If your machines cannot accommodate all people, you are losing business. As a doctor, you swore an oath to do no harm. Turning people away & not being able to service them without a real solution, is doing harm. Clueless. Don't go here because they do not care about people, only their profits.

The nurses were incredibly kind, friendly, and reassuring, and they made me feel safe and comfortable right before the procedure. The treatment coordinator, Ty, was also amazing. He was extremely thorough, explained all of my treatment options clearly, and even called me the next day to check in and see how I was doing. That level of care really stood out to me. I decided to have the SMILE procedure with Dr. Niksarli after several of my friends recommended him based on their own experiences with him years ago. He was incredible--patient, gentle, and reassuring throughout the entire process. These are qualities you don't always find in doctors or surgeons, but Dr. Niksarli truly displayed every quality you would want in a physician. The procedure itself went by so quickly. They even give you a teddy bear and a comfortable blanket, and the entire experience was completely painless for me. This procedure has truly changed my life. I had been wearing glasses for more than 10 years, and now I have clear vision without them. I couldn't be happier with the results. Thank you so much to Dr. Niksarli and the entire team. You are all incredible, and I feel so lucky to have been treated here. I would recommend this office to anyone considering the SMILE vision correction procedure without hesitation!

Firstly, I want to thank the staff whom are very professional and nice. The ladies that work there are very accommodating. I was given an appointment the next day for which I was very grateful. Dr. Polishchuk dilated my eyes And I've had them dilated before but he seems sort of rough in his manner, not gentle. His diagnosis was partially on point. I should really thank him because of my experience with him which was not all that great and hence I decided to go back to my original surgeon for a second opinion at Columbia Doctors. He did not even question me about driving after my eyes were dilated or wearing sunglasses, like not concerned. Sometimes it's the little things. But in a way it all worked out because I did have at least a provisional ICD 10 diagnosis to be seen more timely by my original surgeon who performed successful (cataract surgery in 2017) on both my eyes respectively. The point is, she actually assessed through more testing that the diagnosis was applicable to both eyes not just the one eye even though it was worse in the right eye. Danielle Trief, MD Assistant Professor at Columbia University Medical Center did much more extensive testing by far. This was a week after I saw Dr. P on Clawson Avenue. At the same appointment she performed a laser procedure which cleared up my entire vision in the right eye which was worse than the left which was the "good eye" now the "bad eye". The procedure was painless and within a few hours I could miraculously see perfect in that right eye. In layman's terms the lens implant needed to be "polished" as this can commonly occur over time. I am going to have the left eye done in two weeks. My point is that unless it's an emergency which was fortunately not the case here, me personally, I would get a second opinion. Was it a major pain in the ass to go into Manhattan? Absolute torture yes, but hey you only have one pair of eyes.
