I was really excited to take my friend to Palm Beach Tan for her first-ever tanning bed experience, but it ended up feeling like a scam. We told the employee it was her very first time, yet she gave zero explanation on how to use the bed. My friend didn't know the top needed to be lowered, so she didn't--making the entire session basically pointless. To make things worse, they charged her $57 even though your first service is supposed to be free. We asked for a refund immediately after the charge, and the employee said the manager could process it. But when we called a couple days later, the manager refused. This was a disappointing experience from start to finish. Please train your employees properly. read more

I recently relocated to Austin and sadly had to leave my airbrush tan guy I've been seeing for about a decade So I couldn't take it anymore lol I needed a tan. This was the first place I called and I'm glad I did!! Devon spoke to me and I was a little iffy at first. (I hAdnt used a tan booth in forever) but she answered all my questions and made me feel at ease so I decided why not? The salon was impeccably clean and I was greeted by the sweetest women EVER. The staff was very friendly and I literally felt like I could talk to them all night. I like that! Devon is an incredible employee and knows her stuff. Give the girl a raise! I want to specifically leave a review for Nicole who was working around 6:00pm today. I walked in with headphones on and couldn't hear what was happening at first, however when I took them out, I noticed a woman yelling at her and berating her over a billing issue. Nicole was very calm and trying to explain to her the problem and a solution, however she was met with continued disrespect and interruption. In college, I worked at a tanning franchise, and I could tell that Nicole was super knowledgeable about what she was telling her. The problem was and Nicole remained extremely respectful. She was in there by herself and doing a great job of staying on top of cleaning the beds and checking people in, all while being yelled at by a customer. I stepped in and told the woman that she was out of line and disrespectful and that treating staff in this way is reprehensible. I let Nicole know that I was impressed with her. I want to leave this review so that Nicole's managers know how great of a job she is doing!! read more

I've been going to palm beach for quite sometime, and no one has been as helpful as the S.Lamar location. Every employee has been amazing but I specifically want to point out Grace! Been coming here off and on for years. Recently had a spray tan that just did not develop right, not sure why, I guess the mixture did not Develop in my skin. I am leaving early AM for New York for a big meeting, and Taylor the manager, was very good and is giving me another tan so it will develop. All within 12 hours. Taylor took a sad, little tanning salon and completely turned it around. The environment is pleasant and spa-like, always extremely clean and sanitized, and the equipment is great! Since Palm Beach took over, the entire salon has been revamped and upgraded. The staff is always great, but I have to give Taylor McGill (salon manager) super duper extra awesome props! She is knowledgeable, always smiling and positive (you can tell that she's smiling even though she is wearing her mask), always lets me know about specials without being pushy to sell me something, and is generally a ray of fricking sunshine! My experience wasn't completely awful but it was not great. I wanted my tan to be very dark and have a smooth finish but when it was developed it was very splotchy behind my knee, on my wrists, and neck. my upper lip and nose was extremely dark but the rest of my face was still pretty pale. The color on my stomach and my legs was very beautiful. the tan comes off very very easily while its developing. so be careful. I spilled a drop of water on my leg and there was a drop of the color that came off on my leg. The color was very pretty when it did develop but like I said it was very splotchy. not to mention that the lady that helped me did not explain what I was supposed to do in the machine very well at all and seemed aggravated when I asked questions. overall the experience of my tan could have been better. read more

Honestly this location is fine and the staff is super warm and friendly. However, Ive had two versaspa spray tans here and neither time my tan developed. Even with the bronze. I've had many versaspa spray tans before, so it doesn't make sense why they randomly would not work. I don't know what the problem could be but it's just a bummer I spent the money on them for nothing. :/ read more

This location used to be another tanning salon, and since it became palm beach tan, I've actually loved it. I never had the best experiences before. They've made some updates, make sure the beds are always newly lamped, and the staff actually is very knowledgeable about everything. The new manager, Tayler, is my favorite person there. When it was the other tanning salon, i always felt like I was pushed with product and it just got to be annoying. But Tayler sort of educated me in telling me how important skin care is to get the results you want. And since then I've been so happy with my skin and tan! She knows exactly what is best for what I want. I actually get excited to come in to see her some days, because she is always in such a good mood and so cheerful. Used the mystic and even got charged extra for a dark cartridge which was fine, I've just never had that happen before. But I wanted to be super dark for vacation so I had no problem with it! I've spray tanned many times before at other salons and have never had no color stick. I woke up the next morning very confused, I looked the exact same after paying almost 50 dollar for the single session. I saw absolutely no change, with the darkest color I could have picked. The manager at this location was exceptional! I actually didnt even visit the location, I was visiting from Boston and wanted to see if my credits would transfer to this location. I understand that they're under new ownership and changed names so I figured I wouldn't be able to fully use their services. The manager honored the deal we had going on in Boston and told me to come by whenever I had a chance. She actually made me feel excited to come by but unfortunately while on vacation I didnt get the chance to stop in. She was very sweet, informative, and kind over the phone. read more

This location was great when it was Darque Tan, but unfortunately since it's switched over to Palm Beach I'm always disappointed. There needs to be better communication between corporate and their staff. I'm always told different things, such as they are definitely keeping the red light, salt room, and massage bed. I drive out of my way to this location and each time the story changes and I'm left disappointed and told that the feature is no longer available and I've wasted my time. I hear something different from each and every employee every single time. If there were better communication and the staff was knowledgeable about what was going on, then at least I wouldn't leave confused and disappointed each time. I now know to not drive out of my way to come here because I'm only wasting my time. read more
